Genshin Impact: It All Began With Me Being Stepped On by Arlecchino

(I forgot a lot of the plot =-= I just reread the original story and found that I got a lot of the settings wrong, but it won't affect the continuation of the story too much, so you may find that what I wrote is a bit different from the original, please bear with me)

When the sound of a gunshot echoed through the manor of the Poissonchantier, the crowd fell silent, then panicked. A gunshot? Are there robbers here?

Unlike the terrified guests, a smile appeared on Marcel's face. It seems the plan was a success. But there was only one shot. Was Callas killed that easily? It didn't matter. He could just have the scapegoat take the blame and then "commit suicide out of guilt" while in custody.

However, just as he was thinking this, something unexpected happened. The manor's main door was forced open, and a group of people rushed in. The Gardes?

Marcel's face changed. He instinctively looked towards the door and, sure enough, the guards who were supposed to be on duty were all subdued and kneeling on the floor. What is going on?

Leading the Gardes was Chevreuse, the captain of the Special Patrol. She burst in with her firearm, and at her signal, her team spread out and took control of the scene.

Seeing this, Marcel's expression changed again. The Poissonchantier had a cooperative relationship with the Spina di Rosula. For the Gardes to burst in at this time, and with such a formation... and the Spina di Rosula hadn't reacted at all? What is going on?

"Marcel Poissonchantier, or should I say, Vacher, the adventurer from Snezhnaya," Chevreuse said coldly, approaching the pale-faced Marcel. "You are under arrest for producing, organizing, and selling prohibited goods, illegally possessing a large number of guard Meka, and suspicion of multiple murders, among other crimes!"

"I protest! I have connections with the Spina di Rosula! I pay my taxes every year! You can't just arrest me like this!" Marcel's face was pale. He clutched his chest as if having a heart attack and began to scream hysterically.

The members of the Spina di Rosula in the room, who were still in the dark, exchanged confused glances.

Just then, a burly figure walked in from behind the door. It was Callas.

His voice rang out calmly, "Vacher, all these years, with my help and the vast fortune you've amassed from producing and selling 'L'es,' you've built such a large trading company. Without my knowledge, countless families have been shattered by your madness."

"After discovering that your reach had extended to the Beryl Region, I traced it back and finally understood what it means to be blind to what's right under your nose. I finally know what you've been doing behind my back all these years. You scum, who committed a series of murders of young women for your own selfish gain, killing dozens of them. Now, it is time for you to face judgment."

The crowd was in an uproar. Marcel looked at Callas, who was only drenched from the rain but otherwise unharmed, and his blood ran cold. "Callas..." he murmured.

"Don't bother saying you're innocent. Your factories and your offline 'L'es' distributors have all been wiped out and brought under control. All the lab records, the victims' clothing as evidence, and your subordinates..." Chevreuse walked over, her face grim. "We have all the evidence. You're finished, Vacher!"

At her command, her team moved to apprehend him. Vacher's face twisted into a ferocious snarl. He clutched his chest, not because of a heart attack, but because he had one last insurance policy.

He smashed a vial on the ground. The Gardes who were rushing him froze. Chevreuse's face changed as she realized what it was. Pure Primordial Seawater splashed onto the Gardes in front. In an instant, they dissolved into puddles of water.

"You damn bastard—"

But Vacher had another move. Amidst the shock, anger, and horror of the crowd, he threw another vial, this time straight at Chevreuse.

"FWOOSH!"

A torrent of fire suddenly shot out from the side. It was Lu Li! He had been discussing the next steps with Callas and was supposed to be tying up the suspect. He hadn't expected Vacher to be so insane as to carry Primordial Seawater on him. Was he too late? No, Chevreuse was untouched.

The massive flame evaporated the water element. The next moment, Lu Li threw a punch, sending the shocked Vacher to the ground. He kicked him hard in the stomach, rendering him powerless—

Before Lu Li could do anything else, the roaring members of the Special Patrol pushed him aside and began to beat Vacher mercilessly. In their anger and grief over their fallen comrades, they had forgotten their identities as law enforcers.

Lu Li, pulled away, looked at the grim-faced Callas in the distance and nodded. Callas began to calm the crowd and take control of the members of the Poissonchantier.

Lu Li looked at Chevreuse, who was staring down at the two empty Garde uniforms on the floor, his expression complex. "Sorry, was I too late?"

"No... it was my oversight. Thank you, Lu Li. Otherwise, I might have ended up like them..." Chevreuse shook her head, her face tight and grim. She looked at Vacher, who was being kicked and was now screaming in agony. Her voice was devoid of emotion. "His conviction is a fact... but after the trial, before he is sent to the Fortress of Meropide... in the detention center, I will make him regret being born..."

Lu Li looked at Vacher, who was now barely breathing, and nodded.

And then, his thoughts turned to the two people at the pinnacle of power in Fontaine.

So, I'll finally get to meet them... Neuvillette, and... Furina!
