Chapter 16: Chapter 16
Takumi and Keqing stopped at Wangshu Inn.
At this moment, the entire Wangshu Inn had been closed for business.
It was repurposed by Ningguang as a rest area for Takumi and his team.
The entire Wangshu Inn would now fully serve Takumi and the others.
Wangshu Inn itself was part of Ningguang's business empire, so using it posed no issue.
On the way over, Takumi also noticed that there were no more Hilichurls in Guili Plains.
Everything had been cleared out.
The preliminary work was all prepared.
Some areas had even begun to be leveled.
Teyvat's construction lacked large-scale equipment, so a group of Geo Vision holders was recruited to handle the work.
The Geo Vision's ability was incredibly useful for infrastructure development.
...
Takumi and Keqing settled down at Wangshu Inn.
At the same time, Takumi also adjusted the city model once again.
The one at the entrance of the General Affairs Department remained in place.
So, he created a new one.
Meanwhile, Keqing began drafting letters to Mondstadt.
She started requesting a certain "little angel" to come and assist with the project.
Once the model was complete, Takumi called for the assembled workers to hold a meeting.
It didn't take long for them to gather.
Takumi pointed to the model in front of him and spoke:
"The next phase is starting now."
"Today, I'll spend some time explaining what needs to be done."
"We begin construction from the bridge outside."
"Then, we extend all the way toward Liyue Harbor."
"Don't destroy the ruins or similar structures."
"They can be restored in the future and used as tourist attractions."
"For now, we're only working on the section between the Wangshu Inn teleport waypoint and the Guili Plains teleport waypoint."
"The model is here. Take a look."
"Next, I'll create blueprints for the houses."
"Then, you'll decide who builds which houses."
"Once the housing is established, we'll move on to roads."
Takumi gestured toward the model, which was identical to the one at the General Affairs Department.
Hearing Takumi's explanation, everyone nodded.
No one objected to the plan.
Takumi immediately started drafting house designs.
At the same time, he labeled the model with numbers.
...
The house blueprints materialized out of thin air.
Takumi had used his unique ability to manifest them.
Seeing this, the workers were stunned.
Was this the power of the project leader?
They picked up the blueprints, flipping through them with surprise.
The designs were simple and clear.
Each foundation's excavation process was detailed explicitly.
After finalizing the designs, Takumi continued:
"Next, we need to allocate areas."
"The model is here. You can divide it according to the terrain."
"While the model and the real map may have some differences, the general structure remains the same."
"Plan the land carefully to ensure smooth construction."
"Once the ground layout is finalized, we'll start building."
"Today and tomorrow, your focus should be on setting up the foundation properly."
"Another key point—set up temporary facilities."
"Workers need rest areas, dining areas, and supply zones. These must be arranged first."
"If manpower is insufficient, notify Yuheng immediately."
"Liyue is still actively recruiting workers, and there are plenty available."
"The main goal is simple—build the city quickly."
"If Liyue runs short of workers, recruit them from Mondstadt next door."
"Cement factories and brick factories in Liyue Harbor are already running at full capacity."
"All materials will be delivered here when needed."
"Make sure the supply is used efficiently."
"We don't want materials piling up while progress is slow—that would be a waste."
...
Takumi assigned numerous tasks.
Listening to his instructions, the contractors nodded in understanding.
After discussing the details, everyone started working.
The assigned teams began surveying the terrain and setting up tents.
The site was now operating in an orderly manner.
After Keqing sent out her letter, she approached Takumi.
"Everything has been arranged."
"I've sent the letter."
"It should arrive by tomorrow afternoon."
"If they agree, the helper should arrive in about three days."
Hearing Keqing's update, Takumi nodded.
"That works fine."
"We won't need to work on the dock immediately."
"She'll arrive just in time."
"The next priority is breaking ground."
"Go to the Adventurers' Guild."
"Hire some adventurers to patrol the area. If any Hilichurls remain, clear them out."
"Also, we need some fire and ice slimes captured."
"Fire slimes can be given to the site's cooks as fuel replacements."
"However, they'll need special stoves."
Takumi thought for a moment and activated his ability again.
He materialized a finished product.
Keqing examined the sealed iron box and frowned in confusion.
"This is it?"
She was skeptical.
It was just a sealed iron box?
Takumi nodded.
"Yes, this is it."
"Place the fire slime inside, and the heat it emits will warm the stove."
"It functions just like a normal fire."
"If stronger heat is needed, the slime can be agitated."
"This increases its fire output."
Essentially, it trapped the slime inside, preventing unintended explosions.
To be fair, Xiangling was quite experienced in using slimes this way.
She often did this in the wild.
Keqing and the others, however, were unfamiliar with the concept.
After a moment of thought, Keqing nodded.
It seemed logical.
But then, a new concern arose.
"What if the temperature needs to be lowered?"
"You can't just let it burn indefinitely."
"Also, slimes explode when overheated."
She recalled many instances where fire slimes would detonate upon reaching a critical temperature.
This would cause serious safety hazards.
Takumi smirked.
"You've never seen a Hydro Vision wielder extinguish a fire slime before, have you?"
"Explosions?"
"Just drop it into a bucket of water. Problem solved."
"It cools down instantly."
...
Keqing was momentarily speechless.
That actually made perfect sense.
After hearing Takumi's reasoning, she finally understood.
Slimes had always been considered mere monsters.
No one had ever thought about utilizing them for practical purposes.
Now, they were proving to be perfect firewood substitutes.
