Chapter 75: 75: Visit to Ritou
"This is the One System, Ten Thousand Divine Machines?" Rhinedottir asked, arms crossed, observing the bustling crowd.
"Indeed, the 2.0 group version," Reisen Riou said. "As you see, it's rough, low-precision, suited only for commoners. Does it disappoint, Lady Gold?"
"Not at all," Rhinedottir replied. "I stand by my view: it's a remarkable invention. Khaenri'ah wants its technology."
"Is that so? You're persistent," Reisen Riou said, pointing at the machine. An Electro spark flashed from his fingertip, and the One System, mid-assessment for fishermen, sprouted eight legs and scuttled over. "This machine, born from my ability, can't resist me. Understand, Lady Gold?"
He was posturing, merely using admin privileges. Raiden Ei, watching covertly, could do better but stayed silent, letting his bluff stand.
Rhinedottir's face darkened but she pressed, "Consider our nations' friendship. Share the One System's tech. Khaenri'ah will pay a price."
Reisen Riou nearly laughed. Inazuma's militaristic ties with Teyvat were shaky at best—private bonds with Liyue aside, official relations were lukewarm. "Friendship? That's rich."
He saw her urgency, her words slipping. Puzzled by her agitation, he smiled. "No need to rush, Lady Gold. We can discuss the tech."
Sharing the outdated One System's principles, even guiding Khaenri'ah to design their own, was fine—Narukami approved. His goal? Extract maximum benefits. Nearing LV60, with breakthrough materials ready, he lacked a proper weapon, stuck with a self-made three-star. Khaenri'ah, hoarding rare minerals (a third of Liyue Port's premium exports), was a goldmine. Inazuma got another third at low cost, fueling Kujou Encampment's armory. The rest split among northern nations, who favored wooden weapon bases, except Mondstadt, too lazy to mine despite Liyue's proximity, relying on imports.
…
At Ritou Shrine, Reisen Riou left Rhinedottir with Reisen Anko and began upgrading the Ten Thousand One Intellect server's software. Unmaintained for two years, the hardware held, but software bugs piled up.
Some were squashed by his clones, but major issues remained, like the action leg programming. The seventh leg's glitch could halt the sixth, seventh, and eighth, crippling the One System's mobility since the remaining legs lacked dragging power. A software bug, fixable with a reboot, but unreliable. Reisen Riou patched it, optimizing the code by cutting a quarter of the data, boosting efficiency and reducing future bugs.
He tackled other One System issues swiftly, generating solutions internally as a youkai phone spirit. The biggest bug was in the Ten Thousand One Intellect itself—not a coding error, but data conflicts. Evolving constantly with clone adjustments, it rarely glitched, but human books and experiences, riddled with errors, caused contradictions. Reisen Riou could discern truth from fallacy; his rigid clones couldn't, sealing conflicting data for him to resolve.
For example:
"Tarou ate Jueyun Chili, Sunset Fruit, Violetgrass, and Glaze Lily, boosting physique briefly with slight permanent enhancement."
"Jirou ate the same, suffered vomiting and diarrhea, with major physique and immunity drops, likely stomach damage."
"Saburou ate the same, no reaction."
"Shirou ate the same, increased blood activity and physique, with minor permanent enhancement."
"Human constitutions vary," Reisen Riou muttered, discarding the dietary data entirely.
