Genshin Impact: Villain Life Sim

Chapter 69: Villain Simulator, Ch 245

"You bastard!" Yelan, usually composed and elegant, couldn't help but curse. "What are you, a dog?"

"A man can be killed but not humiliated," Lucas said coldly. "I refuse to let you disgrace me."

"Oh?" Yelan tilted her head with a frosty smile. "Then I suppose the fate of that Chuyi woman doesn't matter to you, does it?"

"Chuyi?" Lucas's expression shifted as he exclaimed, "What have you done to her?"

"She's safe for now," Yelan said nonchalantly. "But your choices will determine whether she remains safe."

Lucas could clearly hear the threat in her voice.

Yelan, after all, was someone tasked with handling matters that couldn't be dealt with openly. The dirty work of the Ministry of Civil Affairs was often carried out by operatives like her.

Now, with his father dead, Chuyi was the only person close to him. He couldn't let her come to harm.

"Don't hurt her…" Lucas sighed. "I won't resist you anymore."

"Good, I'll give you another chance," Yelan said, pointing to her bloodied foot. "Lick the blood clean. But if you dare bite me again, I'll pull out every single one of your teeth, one by one!"

Though Yelan smiled as she spoke, Lucas knew she wasn't joking.

These underground operatives of the Ministry of Civil Affairs were capable of anything.

This time, Lucas chose to yield.

The wound on her toe was deep, yet for some inexplicable reason, Yelan found a strange sense of satisfaction amidst the pain.

It was the first time she had ever found pain to be so… enthralling.

Lucas's face was ashen; this wasn't an intimate moment between lovers but a humiliation forced upon him by his enemy.

"Is it enough?" Lucas said bitterly. "I've… finished."

"You really did look like a dog just now, and such a biting one at that," Yelan teased, pressing her foot against Lucas's forehead. "Perfect timing. The Yan Shang Teahouse could use a guard dog. Why don't you take up the job?"

"What… do you mean by that?" Lucas frowned.

"Don't you know yet? Because you and your father colluded with the Fatui, all your assets have been confiscated, including the Yan Shang Teahouse," Yelan said with a mocking laugh. "In a way, I should thank the Fatui. If not for this case, I wouldn't have been able to acquire the teahouse for such a low price."

Hearing this, Lucas felt utterly devastated. Not only had he lost his family, but the business they had painstakingly built had now fallen into the hands of others.

"As I said earlier, you're now officially 'dead,'" Yelan said, tilting Lucas's chin up with her toe. "That means I can do whatever I want with you."

"Creak…"

The sound of the door opening drew their attention. A silver-haired beauty in a pale yellow qipao walked into the room, her voice calm. "Is the interrogation over?"

Lucas was stunned. The woman was none other than Ningguang, the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing.

"Lady Ningguang!" Lucas clung to her leg like a drowning man grabbing a lifeline. "I've been falsely accused! I'm not dead! This woman… she's trying to kill me!"

But Ningguang simply frowned slightly and turned to Yelan. "Why is he still alive? Have you not finished the interrogation?"

"As planned, I was supposed to dispose of him after the interrogation," Yelan said with a stretch, smiling slyly. "But I thought he might make a good toy."

"No," Ningguang shook her head firmly. "If someone recognizes him, our plan could be exposed."

"Relax. Do you think I'd make such a rookie mistake?" Yelan said cheerfully. "I've already thought of a way to ensure no one will ever recognize him again."

Lucas seemed to understand what was happening and murmured, "Lady Ningguang… are you not going to save me?"

"Blame your bad luck," Ningguang said, a fleeting trace of pity in her eyes as she nudged him aside with her foot. "However, if you cooperate and confess, we might consider sparing your life."

"What do you want to know?" Lucas asked, confused. "I don't know anything!"

"Don't play dumb," Yelan said coldly. "We want to know about your family's secret dealings with the Fatui. Over the years, the Fatui have provided significant support to the Yan Shang Teahouse, undoubtedly in exchange for illicit agreements. And the reason they came to collect debts must be that you failed to meet their demands."

"I know nothing of this," Lucas shook his head. "I didn't even know my father had any dealings with the Fatui."

He had indeed seen his father meeting secretly with strangers in the past, but he never imagined they were from the Fatui.

"You should think harder," Ningguang said, her tone softening. "If you come clean, it'll benefit both of us."

Lucas recognized the tactic. Yelan was playing the "bad cop," while Ningguang played the "good cop," aiming to intimidate him first and then coax him into letting his guard down.

But the problem was, Lucas truly knew nothing.

Perhaps his father, wary of dragging him into trouble, had deliberately kept him in the dark.

Even if Lucas did know something, he wouldn't reveal it. He now understood that Yelan and Ningguang were two sides of the same coin.
