Chapter 13: A Date Set Up Gone Perfectly Well With A Twist

"Frisk… Chara… Even Gunnhildr and Venerare."

"This is… Not what I had in mind today. N-Not that I'm complaining. It does show how much effect the four of them put into this."

Ventus and Amos, sitting on two chairs and a table made of wood and stone that somehow merged. The creativity looks very well designed. Dandelions surround the table, and a nice breeze flows around, making a few flakes go up in the air. A candlelit dinner with elegant silverware and a huge plate.

A small lamp grass as a flower for the flowerpot, as it emits a small light blue glow, which will be perfect for the evening. Two glasses of apple wine. The plate is filled with a delicious meal that will only be finished not alone but with two people. The dish for this lovely evening is spaghetti.

"I… Should have figured it out that those two would have planned something like this the moment they approached with those suspicious smiles. I'm so sorry if this makes you awkward."

"No, it doesn't feel awkward at all. I'm just touched that they all set this up for the two of us. Is this what it's like to be on a real date?"

Amos was acting like a little girl who had just been put in a scenario that she had only heard about from her parents. To anyone watching, they would have wondered if she had ever seen a date in real life.

"Oh! Well, uh, if you're eager to try it out then I'll go along with it."

Ventus blushed while deep down he still couldn't believe how he got here. One second, he was approached by his two friends, the next, he was sitting next to his love interest on a date, only for him to figure it out at the last second.

Like he said, he should have known the two Dreemurr had planned something with those creepy smiles of theirs. Ventus wasn't surprised that Gunnhildr and Venerare were dragged into their plan as the two of them greeted him and Amos and led them to their seats.

And those two Dreemurrs were watching them with Chara giving Ventus the biggest [shot]-eating grin he had ever seen from them.

"So, would any of you like to explain what this dish is?"

For both Ventus and Amos, the meal looked very delicious yet was something neither had seen before. Squiggly line painted in red, with round meats that make it more appealing to eat. What is more interesting is that two forks are in the spaghetti, nothing suspicious at all. Hehehe.

"Of course, this dish is named spaghetti. A meal that is considered for a romantic date with spaghetti pasta noodles made with flour and water. Tomato sauce is made out of tomato, onion, and garlic. And meatballs, appealing rounds of meat in the shape of a ball."

Spaghetti was the food choice they decided on. Simple to make, especially if you're an expert in the culinary arts. But there were problems, mainly the meatballs. Unless Frisk and Chara reinvented the meat grinder, they just had to slice up the meat to make meatballs.

Still, it went well as the spaghetti has a special meaning, passion. And the fact that it is the most famous meal in the world when it comes to romantic dates. Making pasta for someone you love, so in a way, making spaghetti for your loved ones in hopes a romance will blossom, counts as someone you love. Did it make sense? Who knows.

"It truly looks delicious. But, will we both finish it? It does seem too much."

Amos spoke as she could see the steam emitting from the pasta. The fact that it was still hot with a nice breeze flowing through just made it surprising. Although Amos couldn't help but feel a sense of heat coming from the table, with a faint scent of burnt fire.

"Err, Frisk, Chara, is there a fire inside the table?"

Ventus immediately became alarmed as he noticed the strange warmth so close. He then realized that

"Oh! So you noticed, well this table is obviously made out of wood and stone, but it also has a furnace built inside of it. We're using sticks to light a fire as there is only one way to get to the furnace. But the setting right now is just low, but it is enough to keep the spaghetti warm."

"Oh! What an amazing way to merge two things into one incredible table. Is this the advanced item you both mentioned?"

Chara chuckled, enjoying this side of Amos. Honestly, it was quite nice to see her like this instead of focusing on her former status as Decarabian's lover. At the end of the day, she is their friend.

"It is one of the few we're planning on making. But this is what we've managed so far, not because we're limited on supplies, there's also trial and error to go through, so we're trying to save up as much as we can."

"Yet, you both made this unique table."

Ventus couldn't help but ask as he knew that the two of them were trying not to waste many resources in repairing Leonard's glider while making their own gliders. Actually, he didn't know if the past part was true but he could ask tomorrow.

"Hehe, we made this because Frisk and I knew how to make it as it was the very first creation we made in our homeland. We did more creations throughout the years, we could have made more but some of the materials aren't available to us yet."

"Well, that can be explained later or tomorrow. You two have a great evening together, if you both need something like more refreshment, or more spaghetti, although I doubt you both need more. Just howl out to us we'll be nearby eating our dinner. Even though we made a bit too much."

Chara mutters the last part as they glance at Frisk, who is quietly eating with Gunnhildr, who is enjoying the taste of tomato sauce along with the meatballs. Meanwhile, Venerare was waiting for Chara's approval to eat the steamed dish that was making her stomach rumble. Despite that Frisk already told her she can eat along with them.

"I think we'll be fine for now. Still, thank you for doing this for us, even if it does seem like it was something you should have told us."

Ventus spoke as he was thankful yet at the same time a bit conflicted about not being aware of this or being asked if this was okay for him. Amos spoke the same except not having the same conflict.

"I'll make note of that. Well, enjoy your dinner and evening, you two. Come on everyone! Let us leave."

With that, the four of them walk away, away so that neither Ventus nor Amos could see them, even a glimpse. And with that, the two of them slowly look at each other.

"I can truly understand how everyone said those two are very reliable. You are lucky to have Frisk and Chara as friends."

"Honestly, I'm glad they are. It was fortunate that I found them outside the city, and out of the ongoing blizzard before both of them managed to stop the blizzard."

"Yeah, speaking of that, I cannot believe that they both fought the God of Storms, Boreas, and came back alive! We both know that nobody would stand up to a god, especially our god. But to my shock when I heard the stories of those two. If they hadn't shown their Cryo abilities then I would have still been doubtful."

"I did believe as they both told me of going to confront him, then a whole day went by as they both came back with Barbatos sensing a different blessing within them both. That was when we confirmed with the blizzard dissipating that they managed to defeat him."

"...I'm worried. When Frisk first showed me the outside world. I believe he and Chara had what it takes for them to lead this rebellion to victory. But there's still a shred of doubt inside of me that says it will be difficult to win. As much as I hate to say it, there is a reason why the harsh blizzard never once shoveled snow in the city. Decarabian is even more powerful than Boreas. Will I even be helpful to everyone here?"

Amos looks away, ashamed for saying such things to two of her friends. She hated that she still had doubts after seeing so many things that came from Frisk and Chara. Homes, gardening, stores, even the construction of a thing called a windmill, and even things that seem to have upgrades or are a bit more advanced.

Not to mention even training two clans, along with citizens of Mondstadt using swords, daggers, and bows to be strong enough to fight back when the day arrives. While she is good with a bow as Ventus, would she have what it takes to help the army to victory?

She suddenly felt her hand being touched as she knew it was Ventus, as well, it was obvious. Still, she looks at him as he gives her a reassuring smile.

"Honestly, I'm having doubts about myself if I'm contributing to the army. Unlike Frisk and Chara, I'm not so experienced with my weapon, yet with them, it is like any weapon they pick up or anything that counts as a weapon. And strangely enough even a stick."

"A… Stick?"

"Frisk told me that he was able to block and attack with a stick. But anyway, as I was saying, I can understand that you felt like you were holding back everyone. You're not alone in this, Gunnhildr, Venerare, and I, heck, even half of the army itself are doubting if they are even worth being in the rebellion."

Ventus grabbed her hand as he continued to speak.

"Frisk told me something the other day. I think he was planning on telling you this but you got this instead. So this is what he told me. "As long as you're willing to help, then you are helping us, whether it's big or small, as long as you show Patience, Bravery, Integrity, Perseverance, Kindness, Justice, and Determination, then you're contributing as much as everyone else." This is what he said to me."

He smiled, looking back to the day he heard Frisk speak to him. They took their time to help anyone, never showed fear even when dealing with powerful opponents, were honest and of high moral character, persisted with things that should be impossible, ensuring that what happens will be avenged, and most of all, were determined by just about anything.

That is what made Ventus admire Frisk, because they carried those very traits that they said. All seven words that he knew had more meaning and importance. As if they were all seven of the words, including Chara, even if they don't show the same as Frisk, they do carry those traits as well.

"So let me say it in my words. You're helping, no matter what size it is, you're doing your best just like the rest of us. As long as we get stronger together, then with all of us, even Decarabian wouldn't expect an army of his own people, with proper training, to conquer his city and overthrow him."

"You really think so?"

"I know so, you're just another rebel who joined our resistance, or in Frisk words, "Another fighting back the empire!" Or something like that. Sometimes he'll say something strange that I have to ask what he meant."

"Hmm… Thanks. I really appreciate your words. One day, we all will have to be ready or his reign will continue. Could be tomorrow, the day after, a week, a month, I can understand what Chara meant someday."

"Yeah, he sometimes gets too serious but is concerned about the preparations."

Amos sighs as she lets go of Ventus' hand as she looks back at the dish, as Chara said it was still warm.

"Let us just enjoy our night by eating. This dish has been sitting here for quite a while. And my stomach cannot handle being denied food."

Ventus nodded as both of them grabbed their own fork and began eating the spaghetti. The flavor and taste immediately overwhelm both of them because of how delicious it is. Both of them felt they could slurp the whole pasta down as it kept on going. It was like until…

"..." x2

It turns out that the pasta noodle the two were slurping on was one long, long noodle. Both froze to the point that their lips almost touched. Neither one said anything, nor did anything, only blushes on their faces.

Meanwhile, on a huge bush far from the table, four people were hiding, watching what was about to happen. Mouths hang open, blushes from two women, and another massive grin from Chara.

"Just a bit closer, I'm okay with just a smooch."

Frisk quietly said as they held up their phone as it showed it was on the camera.

"We… We really shouldn't spy on them like this! It's… It's an invasion of privacy!"

Gunnhildr spoke with a blush on their face, she blocked her eyes with her hands but took a little peek of the moment that would unfold in her eyes.

"Then why are you peeking? Isn't that a bit hypocritical of you?"

Venerare spoke as she had a calmer expression on her face, but still had a blush. She turns to Chara, who mutters, "Do it!" Over and over.

"Isn't this a bit too fast Chara. I mean, they only spoke to each other for a week. Isn't that just too little time for them to really kiss each other?"

Chara glances at their student before realizing something as they look back.

"I'm not sure if you're aware of this. But Amos told me a little secret the week before. She actually has a crush on Ventus, she notices him trying to get her attention as she finds it sweet of him for trying in the shiest way possible. Every time she saw him, admiring her, cheering for her, even complimenting her despite her not fully hearing his words as he either shuddered or whispered.

She did plan on asking him out and being a couple, but the whole Decarabian's lover thing happened as she couldn't just refuse being a god's lover. So with a heavy heart, she accepted it and had to bear seeing Ventus looking heartbroken as she walked beside Decarabian's side."

"Wait, really? Huh, if that doesn't tell both of them are compatible, then I don't know what will."

Frisk said as they were surprised to hear that from Chara, they assumed Chara and Amos were very close friends that quickly. Just for her to explain her version of a love story. Perhaps they'll make a book about it once this is all over.

"If it was that sim… Wait!"

They adjusted their camera at the best possible angle, and graphs, everyone saw Ventus and Amos' faces getting closer and closer. Their breathing became faster as the pressure was overwhelming them. Just a few more inches and…!

Lips touched, engaging, it was shocking that they had already begun kissing! But then there was something neither Frisk or Chara anticipated, hands holding, both of their hands intertwined with each other, it was too lewd!

The two look at each other, nodding furiously, both of them can handle seeing people kissing. But holding hands intensely is the most perverted thing that anyone should handle seeing! They must stop this!

* D1–'1 1-3y t0–h h@nds –1l3 1@lk–g 0- -@s i1 -01 no1–3@bl3?

But before they could do what needed to be done, like bringing out a bat to smack away the lewdness. Both of them were pinned down by Gunnhildr and Venerare. Both of them are deeply gushing over the moment in front of them, even when being far away. Their strengths were somehow able to overpower the Dreemurr.

So in a way, it was fortunate for Ventus and Amos not to be hit by a bat or have their first kiss interrupted and ruined by two people with different common sense than anyone in Teyvat. As for the ending, the date went well, as the two finished their dinner and headed home with their hands still locked onto each other.
