Chapter 466: Tier 5 Alchemist!
"Hmph! 52 years old, you have some nerve coming to this place!" Hearing a loud shout, Noah's gaze was attracted to a stern-looking elder standing in the front of the room behind a table.
In front of him was an orb that displayed the number 52; the person whose hand was placed on the orb appeared to be young as if he was in his 20s.
Noah was not surprised to see that someone was willing to go to such lengths just to enter this competition.
While coming to this place, Elysia told him that the emperor promised very generous rewards to the people who managed to get good results in the tournament.
There are bound to be some greedy people who would want to try their luck and get some benefits.
*Boom!*
Just then, the elderly man used his aura of the core formation realm to suppress the man along with others in an instant.
"I will say this once: those who are not below 30 years of age, get out of this room on your own because if I find anyone like him, I will take action myself." His cold and booming voice was contradictory to his appearance; it sent tremors into the hearts of the people in the room.
Just to show his power, he slammed the 52-year-old man out of the room as if he was swatting a mosquito.
The man tumbled out of the room and fell to the ground unconscious. Some maids came and took the man away; seeing the bloody scene, the participants shook a little in fear.
Exchanging glances with each other, some of the people who were just like the 52-year-old man, who was trying to get through the selection process undetected, got scared and walked out of the room by themselves.
Watching these people walking out of the room, the elder did not say anything and just snorted while watching them walk away.
He looked back at the next person meant to be tested. Feeling the gaze of the old man, the young woman, whose turn was next, trembled unconsciously.
"Don't think that just because they walked away, there won't be any test." Ignoring the trembling of the woman, the old man looked around the room and spoke calmly.
The old man knew there were still some people who were trying to be smart; his words were like someone dumping cold water on their hopes.
"And now there will be consequences for those who are found to be breaking rules. Next!"
The young woman snapped out of her daze, walked forward with trembling steps, and placed her hand on the orb.
Glancing at the number '20' appearing in the sphere, he nodded silently before looking up.
"Did you bring the thing we asked for?" Unlike before, the old man spoke in a calm and soothing way, calming the young woman.
Everyone was stunned, seeing the sudden changes in the old man.
They thought that the old man was biased towards the young woman and glared at him with hatred, but what they did not know was that the old man was merely harsh on those who tried to break the rules.
The woman hurriedly nodded and brought out a small wooden token from her storage pouch and passed it to the old man as if it were a treasure.
Looking at the wooden token engraved with a star in the middle of a cauldron, the old man nodded before passing the token back to the woman.
This was the second item that was added to the rule to weed out the non-alchemists from alchemists!
This token was used by all the alchemists, and issued by the Alchemy Pavilion of the Eternal Jade Guild; it was treated as an identity token.
"You have passed the test, please move to the next room!" Hearing the old man's words, a bright smile appeared on the woman's face as she hurriedly bowed with the identity token clenched to her chest.
After she walked out of the room, it was the turn of the next person.
One by one, all the disciples got tested; it did not take long before another person who was trying to bypass the detection was caught.
"Hmph! Take him away!" The old man glanced at the two guards standing beside him and waved his hands.
Unbothered by the resistance this participant tried to put up, the guards rushed him out of the room.
The rest of the old men/women gulped their saliva nervously. Now that they had come this far, they could not back down. They could only pray that their methods worked in fooling the orb.
Time passed, and all the people who were qualified were moved to the next room, leaving a single person in the room.
Not a single person who was above 30 was able to fool the orb and make it to the next room.
They were all manhandled by the two burly guards in the room.
Looking at the last person in the room, the old man signaled for him to come forward.
This person had a short height, but his appearance was hidden because of a gray cloak that made him look like a beggar.
The old man did not mind his appearance, but he was indeed curious about his qualifications.
"You know what to do." The figure nodded and placed his hands on the orb. The old man raised his eyebrows, seeing the hand.
If seeing the hands did not shake him, seeing the number appearing on the orb definitely did!
16!
Seeing the number, the old man looked back at the boy with narrowed eyes. His surprise was evident in his eyes.
Even the two guards had a look of shock on their faces.

"Boy, do you even have the cultivation to form a pill?" He was not trying to make fun of the boy, but he really did not think that someone who was just 16 would be able to have much cultivation, let alone have experience in forming pills.
The boy did not reply but took out a token and passed it to the old man. Seeing the Tier 1 alchemist identity token, the old man was further surprised.
"I won't be saying that this token is fake or that you stole it from someone, but you will have to make a pill for me, the lowest quality of Rank 1 pill, to participate in this event. Are you willing?" The old man passed the token back to the boy and asked again.
This time the boy stayed for a while and clenched his hands into fists under his robes.
Having no other choice, the boy nodded in agreement.
"Follow me." With the boy's approval, the old man walked out of the room and signaled for the boy to follow him.
Just as the two of them stepped out of the room, they started to hear voices that they couldn't hear because of the formations in the room.
Seeing the commotion, the old man stopped, narrowed his eyes, and stopped a nearby servant. Seeing the panicked look on his face, he asked what happened.
The servant tried to calm down, seeing the identity of the old man, and barely managed to slip three words.
