Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!

Chapter 477: Zhong Hua, Clear Heaven Eyes!

"Father, why are you not sending someone to investigate these young alchemists in depth like the other clans?"

A confused and impatient voice rang in a private room similar to the one Wuhan and the rest were occupying.

Even though the room was similar on the surface, the necessities available in the room were less luxurious than the ones in the latter's room.

Sitting in the middle of the room was a pair of father and son; behind them stood four maids in a proper posture waiting for any orders they might get.

"You don't get it, do you?" Hearing the hint of impatience in his son's voice, Zhong Ben laughed out loud. His eyes looked at the young alchemists with a knowing look in his eyes. "Do you think that the emperor is too dumb or is just trying to give away those rewards for free?"

The sharp-looking boy with a slightly muscular body appeared confused hearing his father's question.

He didn't really think much about why the emperor organized this event. At this moment, he was more concerned about the talents on the stage.

Wasn't it better to have such alchemists work for them?

"My foolish son, I wonder who you take after." Seeing the clueless expression of his son, the bulky man shook his head with a sigh. 'Maybe it's his mother, how can my son be this dumb.'

"The emperor is looking to hire these experts. Looks like changes are about to come."

Just as he was thinking, he heard a familiar cheeky voice coming from behind him.

Surprised, Zhong Ben and his son turned around to see two females walking inside the room through the main door held by one of the maids.

One of the young women was dressed in a maid outfit standing behind the other one with her eyes closed and her head slightly lowered.

The woman who spoke looked at the arena with a slight smile on her veiled face. Her eyes contained a hint of sharpness as they moved around as if trying to look for something or someone on the stage.

"As expected of my daughter!" The middle-aged man suddenly broke into loud laughter hearing her words before turning around. "It is as you said. Since the Emperor is interested in them, there is no way he would let anyone else lay a hand on them."

"Why are you here?" Ignoring the words his father and sister shared, the young man asked with narrowed eyes. "Didn't you say that you don't want to waste your time by coming to this place?"

Ignoring the mocking tone of her brother, the young woman walked forward with her maid following behind. Once inside the room, she reached out to remove her veil only to reveal an enchanting face with pearl-like orange eyes.

"I heard that some exceptional talents appeared in the capital. It got me curious, so I came to take a look." Her calm tone soon shifted to a teasing one as she looked at the young man. "Why do you ask? Do you have any problems with your big sister being here?"

Seeing the smile on her face, the boy trembled involuntarily. Experience of the last engraved in his bones and muscles all came back to him.

Seeing the frail look on the muscular boy, the maid behind the young woman silently shook her head. 'She doesn't even leave her own brother alone. Poor boy, it's your fault for being born into such a family.'

Unaware of the pity he was getting from the maid, Zhong Feng simply clenched his hands, not daring to say anything.

"You must mean them." Zhong Ben ignored the state of his son and laughed while pointing at the screen. "They are the two Rank 5 alchemists. The youngest there has ever been in our empire."

"It's him!"

Following the direction of his finger, Zhong Hua exclaimed in surprise. On the screen was a young man standing beside a cloaked woman with his eyes closed and his posture relaxed.

"You know him?" Zhong Ben asked curiously, seeing the look of astonishment on his daughter's face. He didn't think that his unruly daughter, who injured any boy she had ever met, would know such a genius.

"I don't know him," Shaking her head, Zhong Hua added, "But I have seen him before."

"You remember him, Xu Lan?" Turning to her maid, she asked with a smile on her face. "The day we came to visit the capital a few months ago."

"Indeed," The maid nodded, "But he didn't appear any different from a normal mortal even then."

Hearing the words of both the maid and his daughter, the middle-aged man got confused and glanced back at the screen.

Indeed it was as the maid said. Even when you look closely, there was nothing out of the ordinary about the young man.

It was as if he was only a mortal.

Just then, he remembered something and turned towards his daughter, "Did you 'see' something?"

His voice was low, but it carried a hint of heaviness. His daughter had a secret that only he and his wife knew about.

Zhong Hua was the bearer of Clear Heaven Eyes, an innate physique where the wearer had eyes that could see through the secrets of heaven and earth.

These eyes were so valuable in the world that if the word got out, she might get assassinated by a powerful force.

Naturally, there was a limit to her powers. She couldn't see through anything that was exceedingly higher in level than her cultivation.

But even then, she could sense the presence of high-level heavenly treasures because of their resonance with the energy of heaven and earth.

"I–"

*Boom!*

Before she could say anything, a huge explosion sounded, shaking the air in the arena wildly.

On the stage for Rank 4 alchemists, a huge cloud of smoke covered a desk before the formation around him hurriedly sucked away all the smoke.

The figure of a boy emerged from the dust, his figure unharmed and a bright pill shining brightly before him.

"Success!" Zhang Er, who was in charge of the test, exclaimed in excitement, seeing the foundation-building pill floating in the hands of the boy.

The first person to clear his test appeared!

A hint of relief flashed through the eyes of the young man as his gaze landed on the pill before him.

"Is that the legendary foundation-building realm pill? What an amazing pill!" People who were still in the Qi Phase felt their bodies reacting to the aroma and energy released by the pill.

They could feel every being of their bodies screaming to devour that pill.

"You have passed!" Zhang Er exclaimed calmly and nodded at the young man, signaling him to step to the side.

The others on the stage did not lose their focus and continued to work hard on their own pills.

The formations also helped them keep their minds focused.

'They really have it easy here.' Noah could not help but shake his head seeing the help they were getting from the formations during the test. 'I made pills while talking to Xin Yan and Elyida, even having illusions of someone fighting behind me as well. Kids these days don't know the struggle of life!'

Had it not been for the formations, they would have failed this test.

He started to recall how he tried to make alchemy difficult for himself while trying to make pills of perfect grade.

The reason for doing so was simple; he liked the thrill of having challenges like that.

'Hmm?' Just then, Noah felt a peculiar gaze on his body that made him turn in the direction of the gaze.

He realized that the gaze came from one of the private rooms on the high ends of the arena.

Zhong Hua, who had been looking at Noah, saw him suddenly turn to look directly into her eyes.

She was shocked because the glass before them did not allow anyone from the other side to see what was going on inside the room.

But the feeling she got from his gaze was too real; it felt like he could see through her everything while standing on the other side.

Fortunately, he looked away as soon as he looked at her, making her relax.

'Who is she? I think I find her a little familiar.' Noah shrugged, not bothering to recall her identity, and focused back on the test. Your next chapter awaits on My Virtual Library Empire

Zhang Yi kept looking around the arena as the rest continued. His hands continued to move in an up-and-down motion, stroking his beard.

It did not take long before someone failed the test. Even though it appeared simple, the level of difficulty was very great.

Even though they lost, none of these alchemists showed any signs of sadness; their eyes were filled with excitement.

After all, the test gave them a lot of experience in increasing their alchemy. They felt like they could make better pills from now on.

Seeing their expressions, Zhang Yi smiled with satisfaction. But soon his expression shifted to a frown as he muttered, "We cannot continue on like this."
