Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world

Chapter 4: Drinking with Aunt

The dim light of the living room cast soft shadows across the walls as the television flickered quietly in the background.

Brandon sat slumped on the corner of the plush sofa as his legs stretched out in front of him.

A half-empty bottle of vodka sat on the table, along with a few scattered beer bottles and a mostly finished plate of chips and dip.

Elize sat next to him, her feet curled beneath her, and a glass of wine in her hand.

Her blonde hair was tied loosely behind her, with a few strands framing her flushed face.

Brandon glanced at her with a chuckle "You've got a dangerous habit, you know,"

"Drinking this much, especially after dinner. No wonder you stock the fridge like it's an apocalypse."

Elize giggled softly, setting her glass down on the table. "I had to prepare, didn't I? My nephew's heartbreak needed a full arsenal of alcohol."

He rolled his eyes. "Heartbreak, huh? I'm over it already."

"Oh, please." Elize leaned back, propping herself up with one elbow as she looked at him.

He grabbed a beer bottle and twisted the cap off.

The bottle hissed, and he took a long sip before setting it back down.

They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes with the sound of the TV... a random crime drama neither of them was really paying attention to, filling the gaps in their conversation.

Looking at him, Elize asked "So, What's the plan now? You sticking around for good this time?"

Brandon shrugged. "Depends."

"On?"

He tilted his head "On whether my Aunt will spoil me or not."

Hearing this, she giggled and leaned forward placing a kiss on his cheek "I will spoil you rotten Kael..."

"So, stay here with your Aunt,"

His gaze softened and he gave a nod "Mhm.."

The alcohol continued to flow, vodka for Brandon, wine for Elize... and the conversation grew looser with every passing minute.

More drinks followed, and before long, both of them were visibly tipsy.

Elize's cheeks were flushed from the wine.

Brandon, for his part, felt the edges of his thoughts blurring as the alcohol dulled the usual weight of his mind.

At one point, Elize leaned over, resting her head on his shoulder "You're a good kid, Kael," she murmured in a soft voice.

He didn't say anything for a moment, just stared at the television with unfocused eyes "I'm not a kid anymore, Aunt Elize."

"I know," she said quietly as her warm breath tickled against his shoulder "You grew up too fast."

Keeping the wine glass below, she hugged him and lowered her head, resting on his shoulder "I missed you..."

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he hugged her closer "Me too..."

In his embrace, she slowly closed her eyes and soon both of them drifted back to sleep.

---

Morning sunlight streamed through the window, too bright and too insistent for Brandon's liking.

He stirred on the couch and his eyes fluttered open.

His mouth was dry, and the inside of his skull felt like someone was hammering it with relentless force.

He groaned, lifting a hand to shield his eyes from the sunlight that filtered through the curtains.

"Ugh… what did we drink last night?" he muttered to himself.

Elize was no longer next to him.

The spot where she had rested was warm but vacant.

He could hear faint sounds coming from the kitchen... clinking dishes and the soft hum of a kettle boiling.

Slowly, he forced himself to stand and winced slightly as the sudden motion made his headache worse.

His muscles ached from sleeping in such an awkward position all night, and his brain felt foggy from too much alcohol.

Dragging his feet, Brandon shuffled into the kitchen.

Elize stood at the counter and she was already dressed in casual gray leggings and an oversized sweater that hung off one shoulder.

Her long blonde hair was tied into a loose bun, and she looked far too energetic for someone who had drunk as much as he had the night before.

She turned at the sound of his footsteps and smiled gently "Rough morning?"

Brandon let out a low groan "That's an understatement."

Elize couldn't help but chuckle "I figured as much. Sit down."

He slumped into one of the kitchen chairs and rested his head on the cool surface of the table.

He could hear Elize moving around the kitchen, and within a few minutes, she placed a tall glass of water and two aspirin tablets in front of him.

Next to the glass, she set down a plate of buttered toast and tea.

"Ginger and honey tea," she said as she sat beside him on the table.

"It'll help clear your head."

Brandon swallowed the aspirin with a large gulp of water before reaching for the tea.

The first sip was sharp and slightly bitter, but the honey softened the taste, and the warmth seemed to soothe the ache in his head almost instantly.

"Haa... thanks."

Elize propped her chin on her hand, watching him with affection. "You look like death warmed over."

"Gee, thanks," Brandon muttered as he nibbled on the toast.

---

Stepping out of the front door, he took a deep breath of the crisp morning air.

The sun was higher now, casting a golden glow over the quiet neighborhood.

The streets were mostly empty as only a few early risers were walking their dogs or tending to their gardens.

He jumped a little testing his sneakers as he began his jogging for the day.

He started with a slow jog as his muscles were still stiff from the night before.

But as he found his rhythm, the stiffness eased, and his pace quickened.

Even though women are naturally stronger than men, Brandon likes to keep his body in shape.

In this world, because of this energy called 'Ether' even normal women are stronger than any average man.

Men are often bullied by women or harassed.

But Brandon didn't face most bullying as he had a powerful figure backing him up.

His Sister, an 'Empyrean' level powerhouse.

He raised his gaze to look at the skies 'But at least... I don't have to fight monsters.'

Most information about these monsters is classified as confidential and is not revealed to the public.

There are ruptures, towers, and dungeons in this world from which these monsters spawn.

And to prevent them, there is an organization called 'The Sovereign Circle' which is like a world government overseeing the world.

Of course, everyone in that organization is a woman.

He also heard there is an Academy that trains women to be awakeners and fight these monsters.

But even he doesn't know much information about that.

He closed his eyes for a moment, as he remembered the day he realized the true power gap between men and women.

It was five years ago, during his high school.

There had been a sudden rupture on the outskirts of town.

It was a minor tear, or so everyone thought.

But even small ruptures could spawn deadly monsters.

That day, a Vex Warden appeared... a snake like creature with four jagged claws and a head covered in a skeletal, horned crown.

The creature wreaked havoc, tearing through buildings and sending civilians into panic.

Brandon was trapped under the debris of a collapsed building, injured and bleeding.

He still remembered the look on the woman's face as she descended from the skies.

Ether was sparking from her hands as she crushed the Vex Warden in one strike.

That was the day he truly understood the gap between men and women in this Ether-charged world.

He was powerless, an onlooker to a fight only the strongest women could win

With a sigh, he shook his head and continued jogging into the park he usually does.

However, seeing that nobody was in the park, he was confused.

Huh?

He suddenly felt the morning air shifting around him and for a second, the reality itself seemed sluggish.

As he took another step, he found himself standing in a completely different place.

"What..."
