Ghoul: Starting with Sharingan

Chapter 111: Juuzou Suzuya

"What?! Why? What the hell is going on?!"

The singer still hadn't processed his situation.

Annoyed by his chatter, the auctioneer had him dragged backstage.

The merchandise would only be delivered after the auction ended.

Next, another "merchandise" made its appearance.

Byakuya stepped onto the stage, as calm and composed as ever, dressed in his signature black trench coat. A silver CCG badge gleamed on his chest, yet he stood unarmed before the crowd of ghouls.

"Oh? He does look quite refined... His physique is impressive, too. And a CCG 'Dove' at that? This pet is mine!"

"This one's staying eerily calm. Must be a high-ranking 'Dove'... I wonder who managed to snatch up such a prime specimen."

"The madams are definitely interested. Their favorite collectibles are handsome male pets like him."

"I'm not even going to bother bidding. Competing against their wealth would be delusional."

The moment Byakuya appeared, he became the center of attention, especially among the affluent "madams". The idea of owning a CCG investigator as a pet? The thought alone was thrilling.

The auctioneer, reading the excitement in the room, called out, "Starting bid: 10 million yen. Let's begin!"

"15 million!"

"20 million!"

"30 million!"

The bidding escalated rapidly.

Soon, only the wealthiest madams remained in the competition.

Among them, the woman who had brokered the deal with Eto was also raising the stakes — though she had no intention of actually purchasing him. Her goal was to drive the price as high as possible.

She knew Big Madam had deep pockets, and as long as she didn't overplay her hand, the final bid would almost certainly go to her.

And just as expected—

"Guest No. 1 has bid 100 million yen!"

The auctioneer's voice rang with enthusiasm.

A couple of other madams hesitated but still tried to compete with Big Madam.

But in the end, it was Big Madam who sealed the deal with a bid of over 100 million yen.

Byakuya remained expressionless, silently watching the spectacle unfold. He wasn't in a hurry to act just yet. The auction had only begun—he wanted to see what else was on the list.

Once the final price was confirmed, he calmly walked backstage.

Had the auctioneer dared to lay a hand on him, Byakuya would've ended the farce right then and there.

As he returned, he happened to cross paths with the next "merchandise" for auction.

The moment he laid eyes on them, his pupils contracted slightly.

A child — no older than ten — stood before him.

White, slightly wavy hair cascaded down their face, their pale skin and large, glassy eyes giving them an almost doll-like appearance.

Juuzou Suzuya (formerly Rei Suzuya).

Though his delicate features made him resemble a girl, he was unmistakably a boy.

Byakuya immediately recognized him.

At this point in time, he might still be known as Rei Suzuya.

The boy's face was blank with confusion, his fear stemming from the sheer unknown of the situation.

Byakuya, passing by, whispered quietly, "Don't be afraid. You'll be saved soon."

"...Ah… okay."

Suzuya nodded, still looking dazed.

[Ding! Host has encountered key character Juuzou Suzuya. Hidden quest "Ghoul Auction House" activated!]

[Quest 1: Destroy the auction and rescue Suzuya]

[Quest Reward: 100 Attribute Points.]

This quest lined up perfectly with Byakuya's own objectives.

"I didn't expect to see such an interesting merchandise so soon. While the energy in the room is still high, let me introduce the next 'merchandise'!"

The auctioneer's voice rang out as he hyped up the crowd.

"Seems like just an ordinary girl... or maybe a boy? Either way, incredibly adorable! I'm sure many of you will find them quite satisfactory!"

As the words landed, Suzuya stepped onto the stage.

His face was filled with uncertainty, but he didn't resist. He simply stood there, blankly staring ahead.

"Ohhh! A perfect little doll! What an exquisite baby!"

Big Madam nearly jumped from her seat in excitement.

If she had bid for the investigator earlier out of sheer amusement, this time, she was bidding out of pure obsession.

"This is amazing! Boy or girl, who cares? Just look at that adorable face!"

"Truly a rare find! I'd love to take this one home and care for them~"

"But... Big Madam seems dead set on winning this one. We can't compete."

Even though Suzuya had no special background, his appearance alone stirred great interest among the crowd.

"Starting bid: 5 million yen."

The auctioneer barely finished before Big Madam declared:

"50 million! This baby is mine! Let's see who dares to challenge me!"

She instantly tenfolded the starting bid.

The other guests hesitated for a moment. Then, someone finally dared to bid higher.

"55 million!"

"61 million!"

Hearing that others were still competing, Big Madam's expression twisted in irritation. She immediately escalated the bid:

"100 million!"

Her overwhelming confidence made it clear—she wasn't leaving without Juuzou.

This time, no one dared to challenge her.

Some bidders simply couldn't afford to go higher, while others knew better than to cross Big Madam.

Knowing that she would win in the end, outbidding her would only invite unnecessary trouble.

And so, with Big Madam's final bid of 100 million yen, the deal was sealed.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the real game had begun.

The auction continued as usual, but Byakuya was already making his move.

The backstage area was the most vulnerable spot — most of the guards were stationed at the front, protecting the elite guests.

Byakuya's quinque, "Nitta," was already in his grasp.

The ghouls stationed to guard the merchandise barely had time to react before their heads rolled.

With swift efficiency, Byakuya gathered all the captured victims in one place.

"Stay put. Don't run off when things go down. The other investigators will be here to protect you."

Then, turning to the silver-haired man beside him, he asked:

"Arima, you're up next, right?"
