Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 574: The Monument

On the morning of the next day, everyone was busy…

The settlement was already alive with activity as soon as the sun started to rise...

Today wasn't just another day of preparation for the upcoming Zombie Lord Raid—today, something had changed.

Minerva, Tieria, and Diana had risen early, gathering in the dining hall along with several others.

There seemed to be a new supply of spices and herbs that allowed them to have a different meal for the day. It was quite an interesting meal, making them feel that the shelter had improved once again.

The three of them were enjoying the food and started talking about their plans to purchase another set of prosthetics. After all, they only have two sets of replacements in case their prosthetics are broken.

"Lysandra said that she already has a few sets with her." Minerva replied.

"Yes, I'm planning to check what she brought us as well. She mentioned that she'd give us a discount anyway." Tieria nodded as his prosthetic eye adjusted.

They soon continued to enjoy their meal but just as they were finishing their meal, a sudden commotion erupted outside.

At first, it was a low murmur… Then, it grew into an excited buzz and soon, they heard footsteps hurrying toward the plaza.

Diana was curious as she set down her spoon. "What's going on?"

Tieria tilted her head and listened "Something's happening outside."

"Let's find out." Minerva said as she took one last bite before standing up.

The three then left the dining hall and joined the other curious residents.

As they followed the crowd they were met with a breathtaking sight.

The statue of Shane!

"Ahh… It's already completed…" Diana muttered as she recalled that she instructed Victor to command the Super Soldiers to move the statue once it was completed.

It seemed that Victor had forgotten to make a report and just placed the statue as they had agreed before.

She didn't mind it at all and she actually liked this surprise. After all, she initially arranged for the statue to be completed for a week more. She also didn't expect he would actually finish it a lot earlier.

"Beautiful…" Minerva muttered as she looked at the statue.

The glow from the Mana Stone Statue made Shane's figure like a divine being.

The Spirit Stone's surface, including the embedded energy that made it pulse with aura, was such an incredible sight.

Tieria, with his prosthetic eye, could see more clearly.

The carving was surely masterful, capturing every detail of Shane's expression. The flowing coat was also quite a good touch…

"Nice detail… It feels as if Shane was petrified." Tieria muttered as it truly felt just like that.

"A petrified Shane, huh… Hahaha… That's a good description. It really looks like that." Diana chuckled as she nodded at him.

Of course, several more people who had just arrived had the same reaction. They were all surprised by how great it was.

"By the gods…" someone whispered.

"Is that… Spirit Stone? How did they even carve this?"

"This is too expensive…"

"That's true… But this shows how safe this place is."

"This isn't just a statue. It feels… alive. I think Shane is really in there… We should break it!"

"Idiot…"

"That's definitely worth a lot of money."

Victor Mors, the sculptor, stood nearby. Although he looked a bit exhausted, his face bore a proud smirk as he looked at the reaction of the crowd.

At this time, Diana noticed him as well and she gave him a knowing nod. She had provided the stone, but he had made it legendary.

And then, suddenly, the people who had stayed in the vicinity of the statue for a minute received a notification from the System!

[ You have gazed upon the Monument of Eclipse and stayed for a minute within its vicinity. ]

[ You will receive the following buffs for 24 hours:

Fortitude of the Eclipse Domain Resident: +10% Damage Resistance

Will of the Eclipse Domain Resident: +5% Attack Power

Unity of the Eclipse: Morale and Mental Resistance Increased ]

Just like that, a wave of warmth spread through everyone present as the buffs activated instantly.

"This…"

Gasps of surprise rang out as survivors checked their status screens. It was true!

Their eyes widened with disbelief.

"I… I feel stronger? It was only 5% increase but I can feel that it did something." one of the Eclipse Guards muttered, flexing his fingers.

"This is insane! Just looking at the statue gives us buffs?" another one exclaimed. It was such an amazing effect. Furthermore, it covered a huge area!

It was definitely a lot better than the previous statute that only gives effects related to defense. To be exact, it only provides effects to ensure the shelter's defense and other passive abilities for the shelter itself.

Increased Shelter Prestige, Merchant Attraction, Defender's Aura, Morale Boost, and Survivor's Blessing. These were the effects brought by the first sculpture of Shane.

This time, however, it provides incredible effects to the residents that they could use outside the shelter.

Diana's lips parted in shock before curling into a smile.

"So this is what happens when Spirit Stone is used properly."

Minerva nodded as she knew that this effect would greatly increase the desire of people to become residents of this place as well. They might have to consider expanding at this rate.

"Shane is going to love this." She muttered.

Tieria, meanwhile, was still observing the sculpture and knew that this would surely change how the shelters are viewed from now on…

***

Meanwhile, as soon as Shane woke up from his nap, he saw several system notification alerts.

[ A Second Monument Has Been Constructed in Your Honor! ]

[ The Monument of Eclipse – A grand statue of Shane Wells sculpted from pure Spirit Stone, depicting his leadership and impact on the Eclipse Domain. This is the second historical monument dedicated to you, further solidifying your legend within the continent.

The presence of the Monument of Eclipse grants the following effects to all those who look at it for at least a minute:

Fortitude of the Eclipse – All Residents, Visitors, and even pets or other summons gain a +10% Damage Resistance buff for 24 hours.

Will of the Eclipse – The monument fuels inspiration to everyone. +5% Attack Power

Unity of the Eclipse – The monument increased the loyalty of the people. Morale is greatly boosted, and Mental Resistance is increased.

[ Spirit Energy Regeneration Effect can be bestowed by Shane Wells to up to 50 people every 24 hours as long as you are in the vicinity of the Monument ]

[ Spirit Energy Regeneration: Provides 100 Spirit Energy per minute. Effective for 24 hours. ]

"Whoa… This is perfect…"

Shane blinked as he read the information. But he recalled something…

"A Spirit Stone monument? I don't remember approving that…"

Shane thought for a moment as he shook his head. There was only one person who could access a huge number of Spirit Stones, and that was his sister.

Indeed, only someone like Diana could have gotten her hands on such a rare material. And if it was Victor Mors who sculpted it… Then the craftsmanship must be that great as well.

'This is definitely good, but his people have not built one but two monuments to honor him. It felt as if he was taking all the credit when everyone was actually working together to make this all a success.

Apparently, there were only a few sculptures made from his image around the shelter including in the other shelters. However, not all of them would have such an effect aside from the first one. It seemed that unless it was unique, it wouldn't be recognized by the system as a masterpiece and wouldn't give any reward for it.

Nonetheless, the rewards were absolutely incredible…

He also liked the Spirit Energy Regeneration but it was a pity that he still had to assign it.

"It provides 100 Spirit Energy per minute and is effective for 12 hours… I guess this is indeed a bit too great. No wonder it is a limited buff."

With this regeneration, he could imagine just how many undead creatures Zephyrion could summon. His mages, Sona and Otto would surely like this as well… They would no longer have to use Spirit Stones or other potions at this rate!

All Skills that consume Spirit Points per second like his Aura Sentinel would surely become more useful with this regeneration!

"I need to see this masterpiece for myself." Shane muttered to himself as he was curious what a sculpture of him made of Spirit Stone would look like.

With that, he threw on his gear and headed out, eager to witness the Monument of Eclipse…

Furthermore, today would be the start of their Dreadnight Fortress Raid!

It might be late already and Eclipse Wraith Colossus might have gotten stronger because of this but Shane had no other choice since Statham's threat was too huge…

This time, with the sculpture's effects on all the residents, his confidence to leave this shelter in Diana's hands had become higher!

Now, even if the Statham wanted to attack this shelter, he was confident that the vampire would most likely be killed!
