Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

After some time, the Stoneskin Zombies arrived first, and their natural physique was able to easily crush the lesser skeletons that were forming the army's first line of defense... Even with their shields and swords, they were unable to stop even a single Stoneskin Zombie.

"Bone Behemoths—halt them!" Asad commanded as he couldn't just let these Stoneskin Zombies annihilate his Bone Army.

Soon, the bone giants clashed with the Stoneskins.

The Bone Behemoths had iron-like bones at this point, and their fists could destroy the Stoneskin Zombies for sure...

Boom! Boom!

The impact sent shockwaves through the battlefield, but the Behemoths held the line.

"Malakar," Asad said, referring to his strongest Lich.

"Shatter them."

Just like that, the Lich raised its staff, unleashing a wave of dark energy that crushed the bodies of the Stoneskin Zombies from the inside...

Well, a normal spell would hardly work against these creatures. However, the dark spell of the Lich directly attacks the flesh of its target.

Unfortunately, Malakar couldn't do this repeatedly, so the other Liches must take over after some time…

Soon, the Stoneskins' rocky hides blackened, cracked, and crumbled under the dark magic.

"Alright… The Earth Zombies next…" Asad muttered.

The Earth Zombies rushed forward with half of their bodies still burrowing into the ground.

As soon as they got closer to the Skeleton Army and Ghouls, it seemed as if the earth itself twiste and swallowed the undead creatures...

"Tsk… It's not a good matchup…" Asad mused. Although he had an army of undead who could use guns, it was still too early to put them into the battlefield.

The explosives that he had would probably only last for three or four other waves, so he doesn't really want to exhaust his resources yet.

For now, he just wanted to rely on his readily summoned creatures…

After some thought, Asd ordered another wave of his army to attack.

"Plague Hounds, it's your turn…" Asad ordered.

The venomous undead canines may seem incapable of dealing with these Earth Zombies.

However, they were all quite special since their bites could crush even metals. Though it was only effective for their first bite… It would still be enough to have one Earth Zombie for each Plague Hound.

After all, they had toxic bites!

Once they were able to successfully bleed their target, they would start to further rot the Earth Zombies' flesh.

But while this was all happening, the Fire Zombies from behind had already advanced.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Their flames melted the bone army and even boiled their armor.

"Shadow Wraiths," Asad called out as he confirmed that all Flying Zombies were eliminated.

'That should do it…' Asad mused as he watched the incorporeal wraiths phase through the flames!

Then, their life-draining touch extinguishes the fire zombies' cores.

One by one, the blazing corpses collapsed!

'That's easier than I thought… Thankfully, they all have Fire Resistance Tokens.' Asad thought with a smile.

Well, the weaknesses of the Wraiths were actually Fire and Lightning. It was something that really frustrated him. Once their weakness was known, their strong offensive power would be completely useless.

Thankfully, he was able to visit Shane's shelter, allowing him to find the Fire Resistance Tokens! It was even being sold in bulk!

Normally, the price for each of them was worth 10 Zombie Cores.

However, if he bought 10 of them, it would only cost 75 Zombie Cores instead of a hundred. He would be able to save 25 Zombie Cores, and so, he spent a huge fortune to get a few crates of them!

Roooarrr!

But the problem wasn't over just yet…

The Fire Leader Zombie roared and unleashed a fiery spit!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Several flaming rocks were spat out by the Leader Zombie like small meteors!

It was such a terrifying presence, and it seemed like it was the final boss, considering how it was able to cause so much damage in the surroundings!

'Seriously… Why am I having such a strong Zombie Wave… I'm just a lone Survivor here.' Asad couldn't help but complain as it seemed as if the system counted his Undead Creatures for his Zombie Wave.

Because of that, Asad could only continue with the battle.

As he looked at the Fire Leader Zombie, he confirmed that it was also surrounded by lesser Fire Zombies…

'It won't be easy to approach. My wraiths would also fail to phase through that thing.' He mused.

Well, his Wraiths don't have 100% Fire Resistance after all. They only had about 70% Fire Resistance with the help of the Token.

If they got near the Leader Zombie, they would surely be detonated in bursts of flame…

Even right now, the Leader Zombie had already turned the ground into a hellscape of burning wreckage.

But one figure stood unmoved before the blaze.

It was Asad's strongest Doom Knight…

He may have a few Doom Knights in his command, but this Knight that he named Lancelot was the strongest.

He was clad in black plate armor, and if one looked closely, they'd see ghostly blue flames surrounding its greatsword…

Rooar!

The Fire Leader Zombie released another rain of flaming rocks from its mouth!

The Doom Knight then led its group and blocked most of the flaming rocks… But they also continued to advance as they did it.

Boom! Boom!

Most of the attacks were aimed at melting the Doom Knights, but it was just not enough. The Doom Knights were peak summons for a reason.

"Go!" Asad commanded as he realized the Fire Zombies were concentrating their attacks on his Doom Knights.

Because of this, they had to hurry and make this battle close combat, and they'd surely win!

Soon, Lancelot found an opening. The Fire Zombies seemed desperate as they just continued throwing fire at them…

As he saw another flaming rock aimed at him, Lancelot finally broke free from the defensive formation and struck the flaming rock with his greatsword!

Boom!

The rock shattered instantly, and the Fire Leader Zombie seemed to have felt his threat…

But before it could swat the Doom Knight away, its greatsword had already slammed into its ribcage, sending shards of burning bones flying!

Just now, Lancelot moved a Flash Skill that allowed him to appear at least 10 meters from its orginal spot in the blink of an eye!

'Alright…' Asad thought as he saw the successful attack. As expected of Lancelot!

However, Asad was shocked as he saw the Fire Leader Zombie's body start reknitting instantly…

In just less than five seconds, it was already completely healed!

"What?! That's cheating!" He couldn't help but complain as he felt that the Fire Leader Zombie had stronger regenerative skills than the Zombie Lords!

Nonetheless, the Doom Knights weren't injured, and they would never get tired in a battle. He still had the advantage!

Lancelot didn't show any reaction, and as soon as it confirmed that the enemy was still moving, it struck again, this time stabbing the blade deep into the Zombie Leader's chest.

Thud!

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then—

Boom!

The Greatsword that the Doom Knight stabbed suddenly exploded!

Furthermore, it wasn't an explosion of fire but dark and corrupted energy that destroyed the internal organs of the Leader Zombie!

Lancelot also seemed to be very lucky as the Fire Leader's core was also hit by the explosion!

The Fire Leader Lord staggered as it tried to regenerate its body…

However, the explosion of Dark Energy within its body was simply too much!

The Doom Knight then summoned another greatsword from the darkness and decapitated Pyroclast with a single horizontal slash.

The Lancelot and the Doom Knights had then continued eliminating the rest of the Zombies.

'Good… The casualties are acceptable… We should be doing well in the rankings.' Asad thought as he imagined a Leaderboard where his name was at the top.

The rest of the battle against the second horde was a lot easier…

This time, Asad doesn't need to micro-manage them and simply gives some instructions to each leader of Undead Creatures.

Asad mostly just watched with his Spying Eye from his throne and didn't feel the need to come out just yet.

"Well done."

The Ebon Legion had soon roared its victory…

Although it was only the Second Horde of this Zombie Wave, it was definitely worth celebrating, considering how they had just defeated about a thousand Zombies.

Asad then glanced at his Grimoire…

He opened it carefully and looked at the pages containing his other undead summons. Well, he felt that he would need their help for the next few Zombie Hordes…

As he flipped the pages, he stopped at the page of the Mummies and the Mummy Lords.

'It'll be your turn next.' Asad muttered.
