go back to hell

Chapter 10: chapter10 the edge of silence

Eun Jun dangled in Daki's grip, heart still racing from his near-death drop. As they slowly descended to the rooftop, the adrenaline in his veins hadn't even begun to settle.

He stared at her—at the wings, the horns, the glowing eyes. Her body radiated heat, not warmth, but the heat of something… ancient.

"You're not human," he breathed.

Daki landed softly, releasing him like she was tired of holding garbage.

"No," she said simply, brushing invisible dust off her shoulder.

"You're a demon… aren't you?" Eun Jun asked, a strange mix of awe and fear in his voice.

Daki arched a brow, amused. "You don't seem scared."

"I'm not," he said with a crooked smile. "I've always been a fan of demons. Read all the lore. Studied every myth. Never thought they were real, but… this is insane."

Daki tilted her head slightly, intrigued but pretending not to be. "A fan, huh?"

"You're incredible," he said, stepping forward. "Who are you really? What are you doing on Earth?"

She raised her hand sharply. "Seven feet away," she snapped. "You stinking human."

Eun Jun stopped, hands raised in surrender but still smiling. "Alright, alright. No touching the demon. Got it."

He glanced behind her, then looked back. "I want to show you something."

"I'm not interested," Daki replied coldly, already turning her back to him.

"It's important," he said. "It's in my house. You might like it."

"I don't like anything," she replied flatly. "Especially not mortal trash."

"Just give me a chance," he said. "I'm not going to hurt you."

Daki paused.

Then turned her head slightly, a cold smile spreading across her face. "That'll be you dying."

Eun Jun laughed nervously, unsure if she was joking.
