Before they could react, Qin Siyang swung another punch, landing on a man's throat like a cannonball.

The man with the small braid trembled, his pupils shaking. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead as he stood frozen, as if his soul had left his body.

The two survivors beside him, realizing that they couldn't win or escape, immediately dropped to their knees.

"Boss, please spare us. Have mercy!"

"We didn't know any better. It was Kun Chenglong who dragged us into this—it has nothing to do with us."

Qin Siyang ignored them and kicked both of them under the chin. Their bodies arched backward as they flew into the air, landing headfirst.

Two dull thuds later, they were off to the afterlife.

Whether it was the underworld or Satan's hell, Qin Siyang had no idea.

Now, only the trembling, speechless man with the small braid remained.

Qin Siyang patted his shoulder, speaking with interest,"You know about Li Jingwen and me, right? I could've been your uncle-in-law, you know. What a pity."

Kun Chenglong snapped back to his senses, forcing out a flattering yet awkward smile. "No! There's still a chance. It's not a pity at all. We can still be one family. Jingwen is just young and doesn't understand. I'll go talk to her. I'll make sure she's with you!"

Qin Siyang sighed theatrically,"What's done is done. I'm a Sequence Ability user—why should I lower myself and beg for this?"

Kun Chenglong dumbly nodded, not understanding what he meant.

"If I'm alive, your family has no future. But I can show you another path."

"Yes! Please! We'll do whatever you say!"

"Go to another world and rebuild your family."

"Then… have you figured out what to do with the bodies?"

Qin Siyang hadn't expected that question.

"Aren't you afraid I'll kill you too?"

Wen Shu seemed equally surprised by his question. She tilted her head and looked at him in confusion,"Why would you kill me…?"

"Because you saw me kill."

Wen Shu gave him a matter-of-fact look,"If you wanted to kill me, you could've just let me go home. They would've taken care of it for you. Why go through all this trouble?"

Qin Siyang nodded,"You're pretty smart. First time witnessing a killing, yet you're so calm."

Wen Shu lowered her head without replying.

Qin Siyang threw the bodies into the well, listening to the muffled thuds as they hit the ground.

To avoid leaving evidence, he didn't even loot their pockets for money.

It was a dried-up well.

He then rolled over a stone to cover the opening.

"That should do it. No one comes here anyway. Let's go."

Wen Shu, however, said,"You'll still leave traces of our scent here. If the police investigate, they might track us down."

"What do you suggest? Burn the place? If no one comes here, it won't raise suspicion. But if we set it on fire, that'll draw attention."

"Getting rid of scent doesn't mean you have to burn everything."

Qin Siyang blinked,"Then how?"

"The smell of cafeteria food is strong. You can scatter some from the school here and inside the well. In no time, it'll cover our scent."

Qin Siyang nodded, then gave her a puzzled look,"How do you know all this?"

"I like reading. I read it in a book."

"What kind of book has stuff like this?"

"One Hundred Ways to Commit a Crime Without Being Caught by a Sequence User."

"Why were you reading that?"

"I just like reading. I read all kinds of books. And look, it came in handy today."

Qin Siyang reassessed the petite girl standing before him, who barely reached his chin.

People really couldn't be judged by their looks.

Following Wen Shu's instructions, he handled the scene and left with her.

The two walked side by side through the dim alley.

"You're really amazing.",Qin Siyang said sincerely.

"Thanks. But I think you're even more amazing."

"Just average. What's it like walking alongside a killer?"

"Honestly, it's not that bad."

Wen Shu smiled at him. In her bright eyes, the starlight shimmered.

"After all, we now share a secret."
