The moment I did, a bright light enveloped me.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I opened my eyes as the light slowly faded beneath my feet. Looking around, I took in my surroundings.

Towering shelves stretched high above me, filled with countless books and scrolls neatly arranged inside. Woven fabrics adorned the space, each telling a story through intricate designs. Upon closer inspection, I realized that even the shelves themselves were carved with depictions of of some kind of stories, it might even a legend or history carve upon jt, adding to the fantastical sight before me.

I walked along the shelves, following the carved stories with fascination. Above them, books were neatly stacked, each bearing titles in a language I somehow understood—despite having no recollection of its alphabet, let alone its words.

Then, one book in particular caught my attention.

"MimicLife."

With strange but fammilar sensation, I reached out toward it, curiosity guiding my hand. But just before my fingers could touch its cover—

"Who's there?"

A fair voice echoed through the vast library. I turned my head toward its source.

And there, standing gracefully before me, was a woman clad in flowing white garments. Unlike the other attire I had seen so far—bizarre and puzzling—hers seemed perfectly suited to her, complementing her ethereal beauty.

In the future, I would come to learn that this garment was called a peplos, traditionally worn by Greek women. I would also learn that Greece itself was an ancient land where gods and mortals once intertwined. But at that moment, I knew none of this.

"Ah! I apologize for the intrusion,"

I said quickly.

"I didn't mean to disturb you. I don't know where I am—I was brought here after choosing my mentor. Could I ask if the Goddess of Records, Mnemosyne, is here? If so, could you lead me to her? I wish to study under her tutelage to become an Aspiring or Young God during this training period."

'....'

A brief silence followed.

"…Excuse me?"

I prompted.

"Ah, my pardon,"

the woman finally spoke.

"I was just… surprised, that's all. I didn't think anyone would choose me—especially given my position and the subject I teach."

A realization dawned upon me.

"Are you, perhaps… the Goddess of Records, Mnemosyne?"

I asked, my tone shifting to one of respect.

"If so, I deeply apologize for not recognizing you, Esteemed Goddess."

If she was well-known—whether in a good or bad way—it would be disastrous not to show proper respect.

"Don't be,"

(Here on out Mnemosyne mark='0X0')

she said with a soft smile.

'0 It's just that… well, to be honest, my field of study is not often chosen by aspiring gods nowadays. In fact, for the past millennium, I haven't had a single apprintice. 0'

She paused, studying me with curiosity.

'0 So tell me,~ she continued, her voice steady. 0'

'0 Why did you choose me as your mentor?0'

Well, that's... I don't know why, but I feel like I shouldn't tell a lie here. Even though it might end up badly if I tell the truth, my gut is telling me not to lie.

If so, then it's better to keep things vague.

"I hope to learn any relevant knowledge while I'm here and, for future aspects, wisdom that may help me overcome the trials I may face."

'Hmmm... if it's just that, then I believe there are other gods who may be more fitting, like Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, and Mimir, the Goddess of Knowledge. They are well-versed and may prove more credible than me.'

"Indeed, as you say. But just as you say too, those esteemed goddesses may not be able—ahh, I believe they do fulfill their duties, but due to my lack of ability, I may not be able to keep up with their teachings and will be left behind. I also believe there will be others who will surely capture their attention."

And I'm afraid those goddesses will see through me because of how knowledgeable and wise they are.

'Are you saying I am inferior to them?'

"Ahh, no, no, no, I don't quite mean that. I... I'll be honest. I came to this decision with the utmost ability, knowledge, and wisdom I could muster, so I can catch up and rise above the other aspiring gods and goddesses."

If not, I have a feeling that I may be trampled by them and die.

"Goddess Mnemosyne, Esteemed Goddess of Records, with my utmost sincerity, I believe that with you, I can achieve these things. So, please, Goddess Mnemosyne—please accept my plea!"

At that, I knelt and pressed my forehead to the floor, which I noticed was also engraved with stories. However, I set that aside and closed my eyes, offering my sincerity.

This may seem abrupt, but I felt that this had to be done—pleading my prayers to this goddess.

A silence passed.

Without seeing the Goddess's expression since my eyes were closed, I couldn't tell what was happening, but—

'0 Ha... (chuckle) 0'

Though my eyes could not see, my ears could still hear.

Hearing the chuckle, my body flinched and shivered as I tried to listen and feel what was happening.

A step was heard, sending slight vibrations through the floor, making my nerves tense.

The sound stopped, and the sensation in my nerves faded—probably because the Goddess had stopped walking.

'0 Please, raise your head. I have heard your words. 0'

At that, I raised my head and looked at the fair lady as I opened my eyes.

'0 Yes, please stand up. How am I supposed to teach you if you remain there, unmoving, with your head stuck to the floor? 0'

'0 Seeing that you have chosen me, your capability, knowledge, and wisdom must really be lacking—perhaps at the very bottom. I have many things to teach you if you even want to be able to stand in this place, let alone walk. And more importantly—your absurd ambition to rise above the other aspiring gods and goddesses...0'

"...Wait, does that mean you're taking me in?"

'Yes. Now, immediately stand and follow me. There are many lessons to cover for you to learn.'

At that, the lady—no, the Goddess—turned her back and continued walking.

"Ahhh... Yes, please wait!"

I stood up and began to follow the Goddess.

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

With that, a century passed, and I was able to graduate and complete my education.

To summarize what happened in the past century, Goddess Mnemosyne taught me enough to graduate—not exceptional at first glance, but considering that I started knowing nothing and was behind my fellow batchmates, it was a wonderful result that brought me to tears.

The Goddess taught me five days a week and allowed me to rest for the last two days. However, her daughters, the Muses, would often come and take me along on their endeavors. I usually ended up working, but in return, they brought me to incredible places and events. I met many gods and goddesses in the process, formed connections, and learned a thing or two from them.

A little recap: the first time I met the Muses, they attacked me, thinking I was an intruder in their mother's domain. Fortunately, Goddess Mnemosyne stopped them before they could do any real harm.

As an apology, they offered to help with my studies. And I must admit—they were great teachers, especially in the fields they interest in. In total, I was taught by ten goddesses.

However, with so many of them teaching me, I sometimes forget and mixed up their lessons, which made them angry and pout. Because of this, I did my best to remember and record everything in my notes, but no matter how hard I tried, it was impossible for me to remember everything.

Seeing this, I sought out magic, miracles and technology to aid my memory, but I found nothing that I could get or use with my current capabilities.

With no other choice, I told myself to put in more effort to memorize things. But just before I completely gave up, the status window appeared, displaying words that caught my attention.

After reading it, I learned about a tool that could remember for me called "AI." The window even offered me a feature with the same function, allowing me to choose whether to accept it or not.

I was surprised by how convenient it seemed, which made me suspicious. But fearing the goddesses' wrath and considering my current struggles, I had no choice but to say yes.

From that day forward, the status window took notes for me, sent me summaries, and even provided answers to the goddesses' questions, making my learning process much smoother. However, I soon realized that the amount and complexity of the lessons increased, to the point where even my rest days were taken over.

After some time, I heard rumors that the goddesses were considering giving me the "Curse of Unforget"—a curse that would ensure I never forgot anything but came with the painful side effect of reliving past traumas all the time. They believed that if it was for my goal, I would endure it.

However, after seeing that I was able to keep up with my lessons, they decided not to curse me directly. Instead, they gave me a toxic, dark rainbow-colored potion imbued with the curse and told me to drink it if I ever struggled to remember things.

I'm glad the status window exists.

As I wondered how to repay the status window for its help, it appeared and simply requested the potion in exchange. I handed it over without hesitation.

Aside from my studies, many events took place throughout the century. One notable event was the competition to obtain 'Titles.'

Wondering what Titles are? Let's just say they are powerful tools that grant abilities based on their name. Even now, I don't fully understand how they work—I only know that having one gives you a major advantage in the future.

I considered competing for a Title, but those who obtained them became well-known figures, attracting both admiration and malice. Wanting to remain unnoticed, I decided to step back and avoid seeking one.

Unfortunately for me, as the student of the Muses—who were famous across this realm—I was often forced to participate in various events, especially those related to their domains, such as creativity and technology like singing and art and alike.

It was embarrassing and humiliating, but I managed to strike a deal. My identity would remain hidden unless I won a particular competition. As you see, I didn't possess any title, that just means I lost all competition I participate even though I did my best

But in the end, it was a good experience. I had fun—at least, in some parts of it.

Now, returning to the present, the beings around me begin to leave, fading into the light. I don't know where they are headed, but if their sense of morality is the same as mine, then their first destination should be the place where they received their education—to offer their gratitude before departing.

With that thought, I, too, vanish into the light.
