Chapter 153: Last Breath Totem
Previously, when Ethan revived Elias, he received a bit of a difficult mission which was to help Elias become a Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivator.
The rewards Life Points, a General Revival Life Card, and Elias's absolute loyalty.
However, when Ethan saw that the mission related to Shadow Bee was to gain Shadow Bee's absolute loyalty, he frowned because he was not expecting it.
'How to get his trust and loyalty? It is simple but…..it will increase my enemies.'
Nevertheless, Ethan knew exactly how he could easily get Shadow Bee's absolute loyalty.
It was none other than by going against the other Hermit Tribes that massacred Shadow Bee's entire tribe.
However, by doing so, he would also become a target for those Hermit Tribes.
'Let's plan it properly. As long as I can think, I can come up with a plan.'
Ethan silently started thinking about a perfect plan to complete his latest mission.
"Master"
As Ethan was thinking, Shadow Bee, after sorting out all his thoughts, called Ethan in an awkward tone.
"I promise to help you in fulfilling your revenge. So, rest assured."
Ethan was not surprised by Shadow Bee's way of addressing him because in the eyes of the revived targets, he was an entity similar to a God for bringing them back to life and giving them a second chance at life.
Although it was because of Ethan, he was dead, Shadow Bee knew it was an accident and he blamed himself for being careless.
If Ethan didn't revive him, all his plans and efforts for taking revenge on the Hermit Tribes and the Greenfire Sect would be in vain.
Nevertheless, Shadow Bee felt a bit awkward calling Ethan 'Master'.
"Thank you, Master."
Shadow Bee smiled at Ethan's words as he hurriedly went and picked out his broken Rank 5 Armour, Amulet, and his storage ring from the pool of his own blood.
"Tangle, Blitz, come out."
Injecting his spirit essence into the Beast Heaven Orb, Shadow Bee hurriedly summoned the Spider Monkey and the Azure Killer Bee Queen.
It had been some time since he had formed a special contract with these two Spirit Beasts under his Cultivation Talent [Primal Beast Master].
According to the special contract, if something happened to the Beast Master, the contracted Spirit Beasts would also suffer a backlash and in the worst case, they might even commit suicide to follow their Beast Master.
'Swiish'
'Eeekk–eekk'
'Buzz'
Soon, the two Spirit Beasts appeared in front of Shadow Bee without a single injury.
Moreover, they were no longer exhausted from their fight with the Lightning Apes, making not only Shadow Bee but even Ethan shocked.
'Interesting…so when I revive him, even his Spirit Beasts will be recovered to their peak state?'
Ethan silently made a mental note about it for his future plans.
"I thought I lost you guys."
Soon, Shadow Bee became excited as he hugged his two Spirit Beasts and almost cried. If not for Ethan's presence, he might have cried.
"Master, shall we resume our Beast Purification Mission again?"
After adjusting his emotions, Shadow Bee reminded Ethan about their mission to purify the Berserk Beasts.
"About that….I don't think we can complete our Beast Purification Mission anymore."
Ethan shook his head as he pointed at the corpses of both cultivators and the Berserk beasts.
"Master, are you worried about killing them?"
Shadow Bee raised his brows for a moment before shaking his head, "Don't worry, Master. If they were able to enter the Berserk Beast Realm, then the Greenfire Sect must know about it too."
"Why?"
Ethan became curious and asked about it.
"When it comes to Hermit Tribes, the Greenfire Sect swore not to meddle with our matters. It was also the reason why I dared to enter the Berserk Beast Realm."
Shadow Bee continued to explain, "If my guess is correct, Elder Wren must have already known about the deaths of these three cultivators from the Bloodclaw Tribe."
"Is that so?"
Ethan understood; however, he suddenly thought of something and asked, "If he knows about their deaths, he must know about your death too, right?"
"Yes."
Shadow Bee smiled and he guessed what Ethan was worrying about. So, he eased Ethan's worries by saying, "Even if Elder Wren sees me walking out of the Berserk Beast Realm, he won't be surprised."
"And why is that?"
The more Shadow Bee explained, the more curious Ethan became.
"It is because I have a Special Item called the Last Breath Totem. Whenever I receive a critical hit and die, it will bring me back to life."
"What? There is such a Heaven-defying item?"
Shadow Bee told Ethan about a Special Item, making Ethan thoroughly shocked.
Although Ethan had personally received so many magical cards from the Godly Revival System, it was his first time hearing about such an item in the cultivation world.
So, he was momentarily shocked before recovering from it and asking another question, "Then, what happened to it? Why didn't it trigger today?"
"It would have been triggered if Master hadn't revived me within an hour."
Shadow Bee took out a small bone totem from his storage ring and showed it to Ethan.
Ethan carefully examined the Last Breath Totem in Shadow Bee's hands.
It was a small, weathered bone-carved figurine, etched with mysterious runes that faintly pulsed with a dim, eerie glow.
Though it looked fragile, Ethan could sense a familiar power within it – the same power that was stored inside the Revival Life Card.
'So, in this world, there are others who have the revival ability just like me.'
Finally, Ethan realized that he was not the only one in the world with the revival ability, making him decide, 'From now on, I should be extra careful when killing someone and wait to make sure they won't be revived ever again.'
"Tell me more about this Last Breath Totem. How does it work exactly? Any restrictions?"
Soon, Ethan was interested in that totem and started asking for more details about it.
As for his earlier worries regarding the punishment for killing the three Bloodclaw Tribesmen, they disappeared with Shadow Bee's assurance.
….
Outside the Berserk Beast Realm,
'Huh?'
Inside a small wooden cabin, Elder Wren raised his brows when he saw the fourth pebble on the table get destroyed.
'What's happening now? Did that brat from the Bloodclaw Tribe get killed by the other two Hermit Tribes?'
Looking at the destroyed pebble, Elder Wren wondered which Hermit Tribe Member killed Drake.
The pebble connected to Shadow Bee's life and death was still broken even after he was revived and now, Drake's pebble was broken, making Elder Wren conclude that Drake was killed by the members of another Hermit Tribe for the Heavenly Artifact in his possession.
Elder Wren knew the cultivation of the Hermit Tribesmen that entered the Berserk Beast Realm through the Cultivation Families. So, according to him, only the members of the other Hermit Tribes could kill Drake.
'I just hope they fight one another and kill themselves.'
Elder Wren scoffed and hoped all the participants belonging to the Hermit Tribe would die in the Berserk Beast Realm.
'With that last member of the Primal Fang Tribe dead, I wonder which Hermit Tribe will get that Heavenly Artifact?'
With that thought in mind, Elder Wren went back to his cultivation.
