Chapter 9: Lots of stealing
Sukuna smirked, his arms crossed lazily as he let Giyu take the opening kick-off. Dai Bo, ever the trickster, immediately darted toward Giyuu with his quick footwork, trying to intercept.
Dai Bo flicked the ball past Giyuu with his hair, spinning on his heel to slip around Tatsumaki's psychic barrier. "You'll have to be faster than that!" he teased, juggling the ball effortlessly with his knees.
He faked left, sending Sukuna lunging in the wrong direction, and fired a shot. The ball curved mid-air, but Sukuna reacted with supernatural speed, blocking it with his knee. The ball ricocheted toward Mikasa, who used her ODM gear to launch herself into the air, slicing through the wind.
With a powerful mid-air volley, Mikasa slammed the ball into the net before Sukuna could recover.
Score: 1-0 (Team 80)
Sukuna cracked his neck. "You're getting on my nerves," he muttered, taking control of the ball. Dai Bo charged at him again, but Sukuna pulled off a lightning-fast rainbow flick, sending the ball soaring over Dai Bo's head.
Tatsumaki picked it up, using her telekinesis to keep it hovering just above the ground. She glided across the pitch, weaving around Rengoku's fiery charge. With a flick of her wrist, she sent the ball spinning toward Giyuu, who had positioned himself perfectly in the box.
Giyuu caught the ball with a reverse rabona, twisting his leg behind his standing foot to fire a low shot into the bottom corner. Mikasa dove for it but missed by inches.
Score: 1-1
Rengoku started the next play, his fiery aura intimidating even Sukuna. He rushed forward with the ball, his movements like a dance of flames. Tatsumaki tried to intercept with a telekinetic barrier, but Rengoku spun through it, leaving scorch marks in his wake.
Giyuu finally stopped him with a perfectly timed slide tackle. "This is my domain now," he muttered, passing the ball upfield to Sukuna.
Sukuna laughed, juggling the ball on his shoulders as Dai Bo and Mikasa closed in on him. "You two aren't even worth my time." He performed a triple sombrero, flipping the ball over both their heads in quick succession.
Closing in on the goal, Sukuna unleashed a knuckleball shot, the unpredictable spin causing the ball to zigzag through the air. Mikasa tried to block it but was completely caught off guard as the ball slammed into the back of the net.
Score: 2-1 (Team 1)
Mikasa, determined to redeem herself, took possession of the ball. She used her ODM gear to swing past Tatsumaki, who tried to box her in with a psychic vortex. Rengoku joined the attack, shouting, "Together, Mikasa!"
With a sharp pass, Mikasa launched the ball toward Rengoku. He spun on his heel, igniting the ball with a burst of flame. The ball arced through the air, the heat distorting its path. Sukuna tried to block it, but the sheer force of the shot knocked him back into the net.
Score: 2-2
Now irritated, Sukuna activated his Domain Expansion for a brief moment. The field shifted into a hellish landscape, disorienting Team 80. Giyuu capitalized on the confusion, stealing the ball from Rengoku with a smooth body feint.
He passed it to Tatsumaki, who lifted it into the air with her telekinesis. "Let's end this," she said, launching the ball toward Sukuna.
Sukuna leaped into the air, flipping backward for an acrobatic bicycle kick. The ball exploded off his foot, blazing past Mikasa and Dai Bo before they could even react.
Score: 3-2 (Team 1)
Tatsumaki dominated the midfield, using her psychic abilities to trap the ball in a spinning vortex. She teased Dai Bo and Rengoku, letting them think they could steal it before sending the ball rocketing toward Giyuu.
Giyuu stopped the ball dead with a single touch, then performed a step-over dribble, tricking Mikasa into lunging the wrong way. From outside the penalty box, he unleashed a finesse shot, the ball curving beautifully into the top corner.
Score: 4-2
Team 80 was desperate to catch up. Rengoku, blazing with determination, tried to power through Sukuna's defense, but Sukuna casually flicked the ball away with his heel.
"Enough of this," Sukuna growled. He darted forward, pulling off a dizzying sequence of tricks—a McGeady spin, a flip-flap, and a roulette—leaving Team 80 in the dust.
As he reached the box, Sukuna chipped the ball over Mikasa's head. Tatsumaki, hovering above the goalpost with her telekinesis, slammed the ball into the net with a powerful header.
Final Score: 5-2 (Team 1)
Sukuna grinned as he approached Team 80. "I'll take the flame pillar," he said, pointing at Rengoku.
