Godslayer: Reincarnated with SSS Rank Cultivation System

Chapter 63: Feng Yulan's talent

"And on top of that, you possess mid-grade spirit bones with fire affinity..." she continued, her voice almost faltering. She couldn't hide her astonishment, and the other two men standing to the sides were equally stunned. They shared a glance, both in disbelief at the extraordinary talent on display.

"Next..." the woman finally said, her voice slightly trembling. She needed a moment to recover; if another person came forward with such exceptional talent, she wasn't sure she could handle it.

Feng Yulan moved gracefully, but as she stepped toward the stone tablet, she hesitated for a second. For some reason, she wanted Wen Ran to witness her test, but he wasn't here. The thought made her feel a twinge of sadness.

She quickly calmed herself down, placing her hand on the stone tablet. In the next second, the room shook, and everyone's jaws dropped as the stone tablet revealed her talent.

"This—" the woman was left speechless. "I have not seen this kind of talent ever in the sect, this is beyond my scope of jurisdiction. Please stay here; I must call the vice master." The woman rushed out of the building, her speed carrying her quickly into the distance.

However, not everyone was having a pleasant time. A particular individual was locked in combat with a tiger. Its towering body exuded raw power and speed as it slashed its claws at the man with white hair. His crimson eyes burned like flames, and his hand moved with deadly precision, expertly slashing at the tail of the beast with his black sword, his movements reflecting that of a seasoned warrior.

It was, of course, Wen Ran.

In his hand, he held the long, severed tail of the tiger, his smile devilish as he taunted the beast. "Thank you for this gift, it will decorate my room well."

The beast roared in both pain and fury. Its tail—something it had cherished and fought to protect—was now in the hands of a human brat. The tiger hesitated for a moment, torn between devouring Wen Ran immediately or tearing him to pieces first. Either way, its mind was set: it would take Wen Ran's life.

But one individual in the area wasn't eager to help. It was Xiao Mo. She hid behind a tall tree, her blue eyes focused on Wen Ran's every movement. She tried to replicate his actions, mimicking his skilled strikes with small, adorable paw movements. From a distance, it looked cute, but in her heart, Xiao Mo was determined to become strong enough to assist Wen Ran. Right now, though, she was too weak. She was close to the ninth circle, but still far from reaching the Spirit Flow stage, and this tiger was already at the third circle of Spirit Gathering.

Wen Ran, on the other hand, knew this all too well, but he didn't blame the rabbit. Instead, he kept his focus entirely on the battle before him. If I could use my full power right now, I could finish this beast almost instantly, he thought, frustration building. But I need to be careful. I can't reveal my demon path cultivation, or I'd rather be eaten by this tiger. The death would be quicker and less painful… He cursed inwardly, the urgency of the fight pressing against him.

Despite the fury of the tiger's attacks, Wen Ran couldn't shake the sensation that someone was watching his every move. The feeling gnawed at him, making him even more annoyed. I should just poke that person's eyes out and feed them to this damn beast, he thought, resentment bubbling as he dealt with both the tiger and the unsettling feeling of being observed.

The tiger, sensing Wen Ran's distracted state, lunged at him, claws bared and fangs ready to tear him apart. But Wen Ran only smiled. "Idiot, I gave you this opening." He waited for the tiger's attack, pretending to be caught off guard.

As the beast lunged, Wen Ran's black sword flashed with precision, its blade cutting through the air like a deadly serpent. With perfect timing, he pierced the tiger's heart at just the right angle, killing it instantly. The tiger's massive body fell on top of Wen Ran with a heavy thud.

With a grunt, he pushed the tiger off, wiping the sweat from his brow. His face was filled with a smile, the satisfaction of a quick victory. He could almost feel the blood of the beast coursing through his body, the perfect fuel for his body technique training. But the feeling was marred by the nagging presence of that mysterious person who had been watching him all this time. It irritated him, though his expression remained calm.

He waved a hand to Xiao Mo, and she quickly scurried after him, her eyes gleaming like precious gems.

Soon, the duo emerged from the dense forest, appearing in front of a group of cultivators dressed in light blue clothes. They looked at him with suspicion and confusion. Without hesitation, the group drew their weapons, surrounding him in a tight circle.

"Who are you, and how dare you invade the sacred grounds of the Heaven Shattering sect?" one of them demanded, their tone sharp and filled with authority.

Wen Ran stood still, momentarily unsure of how to explain himself. He didn't have a solid answer to their questions, and even if he did, who would believe that he had been left to find his way to the Hall of Talents on his own? The treatment he had received felt far from welcoming, and he couldn't shake the feeling that the seniors were messing with him on purpose.

"Halt, move aside." The tall man with a bald head pushed through the crowd, his presence commanding respect.

"Senior Brother Lin," the group murmured in respect, quickly stepping aside without question. They didn't understand why their senior brother, someone they looked up to so much, would suddenly take an interest in someone at the early stages of Spirit Flow Stage. In their eyes, they could easily deal with this intruder.

The man, however, ignored their bewildered expressions. "Welcome to the Heaven Shattering Sect, Junior Brother Wen. I'm amazed you made it down from that cliff in such a short time, and you don't even appear injured. Truly, you are a real man. You have my respect." He chuckled deeply, making Wen Ran feel like slapping him in frustration.

"Please, follow me to the Hall of Talents now." Senior Brother Lin turned and started walking without waiting for a response. His nonchalant attitude only fueled Wen Ran's growing annoyance, but he followed without any complaints, keeping his frustration to himself.

The group of cultivators stood in stunned silence, their jaws almost touching the ground.

"Did Senior Brother just say that he came all the way down from that cliff?" one of the younger teens asked, pointing to the towering cliff in the distance, at least six Li away. The entire group now stared at Wen Ran in disbelief, as if they were seeing some kind of beast.

Soon, word spread like wildfire. Countless other youngsters began following, eager to find out what kind of talent this monster possessed. Their curiosity was piqued, and the whispers about Wen Ran's extraordinary abilities quickly spread throughout the sect.
