Chapter 10: Chapter 10

As soon as they left the stairs, McGonagall immediately stood next to Lily. "Headmaster, I brought him."

"Thank you, Minerva," he nodded, and then looked at the "nervous" Snape with a good-natured smile, lowering his glasses slightly. "Don't worry, I just want to ask you a few questions about the incident that happened a few days ago between you and Miss Evans and some friends."

"Of course, Headmaster Dumbledore, ask."

"Okay, tell me what happened then and don't hide anything."

"Yes… that day I…" Over the next ten minutes, Snape told everything that happened between him and Potter and his friends before the Potions exam, while trying to act as "calmly" as possible, immediately placing a particle of the real Snape's personality on top of his , completely repeating his manner of communication and habits, because at that moment the Archmage could not afford to make a mistake, it could cost him his life, yet it was still too hard for him to defeat the Master, and besides the director, there were two Masters in the office, what else further worsened Snape's position.

"...something like that..." the wizard finished, lowering his eyes, as if not daring to meet Dumbledore's gaze, who had only listened and nodded silently the whole time.

"I see, so you used a non-verbal Silencio, then why did Mr. Potter say, that at that moment he could not breathe?"

"I… I used this spell non-verbally for the first time, maybe I made a mistake at the moment of casting…" to which Snape nodded guiltily.

"Lily, do you have any questions?" The Headmaster looked at Lily and asked.

"Yes," she swallowed and looked at Snape. "You remember what you said to me in my fourth year that night about what we had a fight with?"

"I'm sorry, I forgot," Snape replied, looking at her with indifference.

"I-I see... I'm sure, Headmaster Dumbledore, it's not Severus... he's not like that..."

"Maybe you didn't know me well? You say I'm not like that, but what then? Dark magician? Death Eater? That's exactly what you think, right?!"

"Mr. Snape, please calm down!" Minerva exclaimed sternly, standing in front of the startled girl.

"I AM…?!"Slughorn's hands fell on Snape's shoulders, causing the young man to freeze, and then, sighing and calming down, shook his head, "I'm sorry for my temper, Headmaster, can I talk with you alone, without prying ears…"

"Hmm… well…" After that As everyone left, the magician looked up at the old man's pensive face, and then, biting his lower lip, lowered his collar and, taking out his wand, pointed to his throat with the tip.

After a few seconds, purple marks began to appear on him, at the sight of which the Director sullenly got up from the table and came close to Snape. "It's…" Reaching out, he touched the purple mark.

"Really, are you…?" Snape nodded in response with a sad smile.

"I tried to commit suicide that day, but ... I failed, the rope broke."

"Why didn't you come to me or talk to Professor Slughorn?Suicide is not the solution, I hope you realize that?" the old wizard said sternly, looking into Snape's eyes.

"I understand this ... you know, when I almost died, I realized how dear life is to me ... and I decided to completely change, and this opened my eyes to many things …"

"I'm glad to hear it, my boy."

"James, whom I have always been afraid of and who mocked me, I rebuffed him ... Lily, whom I loved and who eventually betrayed me, I decided to forget her ... I decided to start everything from scratch, plunging into my studies," touching his temple with a wand, he took out a small piece of memory but a little edited.

"You wanted to see that, didn't you?" The director, although he looked a little surprised, nodded, taking out a small transparent bottle, and placed Snape's memories there.

"And now my dream is to graduate from Hogwarts and start traveling ... I want to see the beauty of this world ..." the wizard said with a dreamy smile, putting his wand in his sleeve. "What do you think, is this a good dream?"

"Yes, this is a wonderful dream, I once thought about it, but… it didn't work out," adjusting Snape's collar, covering the mark from the rope, the old wizard went to the table and touched a small steel globe with nostalgia in his eyes. "Understood, but it's never too late to start."

"Of course, but it's definitely not very soon…" the old mage replied with a weary smile. The archmage merely shrugged in response.

"About Lily's question, that day we again quarreled over Avery and Mulciber…" the magician lowered his head in embarrassment, under the thoughtful look of the Director.

"I understand that they are not good people, but... I just didn't have any more friends, not many Slytherins were willing to be friends with a half-blood like me, I think you can see why, and Lily told me not to talk to them anymore! Renounce the only people who considered me a friend! It's not fair! She had friends with whom she could spend time, and I, what, should I be alone ?!"

"Severus, my boy, Lily was just worried about you, she wanted you to have good friends…"

"Please, let's close this topic …" Five minutes later, Snape left the office and, without even looking at Lily, who was hiding behind Minerva and looking at him warily, approaching Slughorn he said. " Professor, the Headmaster asked you to come to him, and Professor McGonagall to escort Miss Evans to the Gryffindor wing."

"Are you alright?" Horace looked at him uneasily.

"Yes, I spoke to the Director and explained everything to him."

"Very well then, good night, Mr. Snape." "You too, Professor."

Finally returning to his room, Snape immediately got rid of Severus' personality. "Magister… this really came as a real surprise to me, and this old man is only one of the strongest wizards in the country, which means that there are more like him…" he thought with a smile, falling on the bed and closing his eyes, " … and there are also quite a few countries, that is, there is a high probability that there are several more Masters in the world… eh… and why didn't I learn spells that didn't require huge expenses in terms of magic," the weakest spells that Snape knew demanded the reserve of at least the peak Master, and at the moment he was at the initial level of this rank in terms of the core.

"After returning to Hogwarts, I must definitely get the blood and heart of the Basilisk, and during the holidays get the same ingredients from the Dragon and the Phoenix …",

About the war itself, which flared up more and more every day, Snape did not know much, rather even superficially, but for Snape, with his vast life experience, it was not difficult to understand what the situation was at the moment, and it was, well, very turbulent .

The mere fact that at the Slytherin faculty the information that the Dark Lord gathers followers in the public domain and so, and walks among the students, says a lot, and the very reason for the war caused Snape only contempt, it would be okay just to take over the world, this is a more or less acceptable goal, but killing all non-purebreds is still stupidity, and even if he himself nevertheless joins the dark magicians, he will die with almost one hundred percent probability, because not only Muggles are among the non-purebreds (ordinary people without magic), but also muggle wizards (wizards, born in a family of Muggles), as well as half-breeds, which was Snape.

His mother, Eileen Prince, was a sorceress from the pure-blood "Prince" family. And his father, Tobias Snape, is a Muggle.

Snape himself, to be honest, was a little surprised by Eileen's choice, it's still rare for a daughter from an aristocratic family to run away with a simple peasant.

Therefore, he immediately assumed that the matter was not clean and that perhaps there was a love potion or something like that. Yet it was not new to him to see how members of the same aristocratic family fought among themselves for the post of head or for some kind of privilege, and even he himself had once participated as a mercenary in such a case and had seen with his own eyes how his son plunged a dagger into father's heart.

Therefore, Snape was going to study this matter, and if his thoughts turned out to be correct, then find the one who did it, and avenge Severus' mother, thus paying off his debt for a second life.

After a little reflection on his plans, Snape created five more cubes and, also turning them into needles, went to bed.

The next day, Snape immediately after breakfast, so as not to waste time, went to the library, but as soon as the young man crossed the threshold, he immediately drew attention to one red-haired girl sitting at the same table at which he usually sat. But, oddly enough, it was not her that attracted his attention, but the book that she was reading, because as soon as Snape saw the title, a brief information about it immediately appeared in his head.

"Patronus… this is interesting… there was no such thing in my world…" The magician's eyes immediately shone as he finally saw something he didn't know.

"I can't wait to study this spell, but now we need to finish with the words of Salazar, and this can be done during the holidays," making a note in his head, he turned away from the sorceress and "called" to him the books that he studied yesterday, and immediately proceeded to decipher those words.

At the same time, without lowering her gaze, the same girl began to observe him. "Even though the director said it was Sev, I'm sure it's not him! Someone took over his body! And I will prove it!" Lily thought with determination in her eyes..
