Chapter 11: Gossip Girl Fanfiction – Chapter 9: Seventeen Candles – Fallout (Part 1)

"They say every Queen needs a King. But what happens when the King betrays her? Blair Waldorf just got a reality check—her perfect love story is over. And with Chuck Bass waiting in the wings, the next move is hers. Who will she crown? And who will be left behind? XOXO, Gossip Girl."

Blair's Breakdown – A Queen Without a King

The air inside the Waldorf penthouse had shifted. The party was still going, but the energy had changed. Nate's confession had sent a shockwave through the night, and now the Queen had retreated to her chambers, leaving the kingdom in disarray.

I made my way upstairs, where I knew Blair had gone. Dorota, ever loyal, stood at the end of the hallway, her brow creased with concern.

"Miss Blair does not want to see anyone," she warned softly.

I met her gaze. "She'll see me."

Dorota hesitated, then nodded, stepping aside. I knocked once before pushing open the door.

Blair sat at her vanity, her back straight but her hands clenched into fists on her lap. The mirror reflected her face—tear-streaked but defiant.

"You shouldn't be here," she said, voice tight.

I closed the door behind me. "And yet, here I am."

She let out a humorless laugh. "Come to see the wreckage? Or are you just here to remind me that I was a fool?"

I stepped forward, keeping my tone steady. "You weren't a fool, Blair. You were in love."

Her jaw tightened. "And look where that got me."

I reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out a silk handkerchief, offering it to her. She stared at it for a moment before snatching it and dabbing at her eyes.

"You know what the worst part is?" she whispered. "I saw it coming. Deep down, I knew Nate wasn't really mine anymore. But I held on anyway."

I crouched down in front of her, leveling our gazes. "Then let go."

Her breath hitched.

I didn't mean it as a simple suggestion. This was the moment Blair Waldorf had to decide what kind of woman she was going to be. Would she crumble, or would she rebuild?

Slowly, she exhaled. "I will."

But the way she said it made me wonder—was she letting go of Nate? Or of the part of herself that believed in fairytales?

Chuck's Play – A Dangerous Offer

The door swung open behind me.

"I hope I'm not interrupting."

Chuck Bass.

I stood, turning to face him. His usual smirk was in place, but his eyes flicked between me and Blair with sharp calculation.

Blair straightened, her mask sliding back into place. "What do you want, Chuck?"

He took a step inside, closing the door behind him. "I came to check on you. That's what friends do, isn't it?"

I didn't move. Chuck wasn't here out of kindness. He saw an opportunity, and he was going to take it.

Blair met his gaze, something unreadable passing between them. A silent conversation only they understood.

I stepped forward, cutting through the tension. "She doesn't need checking on, Chuck. She needs space."

Chuck's smirk deepened. "And yet, you're here."

Blair stood abruptly. "Enough."

We both turned to her.

"I don't need either of you fighting over who gets to comfort me," she said, regaining her composure. "I need to handle this myself."

She turned to Chuck first. "Thank you for checking in, but I'll be fine."

Then to me. "I appreciate you being here, Aryan. But I need to be alone."

I studied her for a moment before nodding. "Alright."

Chuck, however, hesitated. But Blair's expression didn't leave room for argument.

With a final glance, I stepped out of the room, leaving Chuck to follow.

A Private Conversation – Chuck's Warning

As soon as we were out in the hallway, Chuck turned to me, his smirk vanishing.

"You really think you know her?" he asked.

I met his gaze evenly. "I know enough."

Chuck tilted his head. "You might be playing the long game, Aryan, but you're not the only one who understands power."

I leaned against the wall. "Power isn't about who gets to Blair first, Chuck. It's about who's still standing when everything falls apart."

For the first time, his expression shifted. Just slightly.

Then he chuckled, shaking his head. "Interesting."

He turned and walked away, leaving me with the feeling that this wasn't the last time Chuck Bass and I would be having this conversation.

Serena's Decision – Running or Fighting?

Later that night, I found Serena sitting on the steps outside, staring at the city lights.

"Big night," I said, sitting beside her.

She sighed. "It's a disaster."

"Blair will survive," I assured her. "She's stronger than she thinks."

Serena looked at me, something hesitant in her expression. "And Nate?"

I shrugged. "That depends on him."

She hugged her knees to her chest. "I hate that this happened. I hate that I was part of it."

I leaned back, watching her. "So what are you going to do about it?"

She exhaled slowly. "I could leave. Go back to boarding school. Avoid all of this."

I studied her for a moment. "You could. But you won't."

She gave me a small, wry smile. "You sound so sure."

I smirked. "Because I know you, Serena. Running isn't the answer. Not this time."

She bit her lip, thinking. Then nodded.

"You're right."

Gossip Girl's Final Word

"Looks like the pieces have been shuffled, darlings. Blair is done playing nice, Serena is done running, and Nate? Well, he might just be done for good. But the real question is—where does this leave our new player, Aryan? The Upper East Side is watching. And so am I. XOXO, Gossip Girl
