Chapter 781: Marketing Efforts
The group stood before one of the many towering flying dirigibles in Moon City's skyport.
Since the Grand Magus Tournament was less than a year away, many people from the city had already departed for Ravenfell.
This was a grand event that took place every thirty years, and drew the attention of people all over the Ulier Continent.
In this tournament, several young Magi rose to fame, carving their names in the annals of Ulier's history.
Moreover, it was also very rare for the Four Pillars of the Empire to gather in one place. During the Grand Magus Tournament, the people would get to see famous Magi from these renowned institutions.
It was needless to say, the most famous and powerful Magi of Ulier would be in attendance in the city of Ravenfell.
Other than the Grand Magus Tournament, there was one other reason why people from all over the continent were traveling to Ravenfell.
The Dark King!
They wanted to witness the glory of being in the presence of the greatest genius of Tron, a young man who became a Mana Vortex Magus before the age of thirty-five.
In fact, some would argue that the prestige of the Dark King has surpassed that of the Grand Magus Tournament, and that he was the main reason why people were going to Ravenfell.
Of course, this was thanks to the widespread marketing efforts of the higher-ups of Ravenfell. It was evident that they had succeeded in making the Dark King the face of the city.
Hearing the people around her excitedly talk about the Dark King while boarding the dirigible, Anna's eyes flashed with conflicting emotions.
She was full of pride, no doubt. But somewhere deep in her heart, she still couldn't come to believe that her little brother was the Dark King.
The same little brother who refused to study as a child was now hailed as Tron's greatest genius.
Perhaps, she would not believe it until she saw it for herself.
She turned to the old woman, placed her hand over her chest, and gave a light bow. "Lady Godfrey, thank you for your hospitality in this past week."
"Oh, you don't have to mention it, dear." Headmistress Godfrey waved her hand with a warm smile. "This is the least I can do for Adam's family."
"Thank you once again," Anna said sincerely.
Kaspar stepped forward and asked curiously, "Lady Godfrey, are you certain that you would not like to travel with us? You would also get to meet Adam."
The old man tried to persuade her, as she had told him earlier that she wouldn't be going to Ravenfell.
The old headmistress smiled apologetically, "I'm afraid I would have to stay back and look after the matters regarding Clover Academy."
She paused for a moment, recalling something. "I also have to make a visit to Hannes City and oversee a few things there. So, I'm afraid I cannot come."
"Ah, that's a shame." Kaspar shook his head. He had come to find the Headmistress's company quite delightful.
"Very well then," he revealed a light smile. "If fate wills it, we shall meet again."
"Farewell," said the headmistress with a warm smile. She then turned to Anna and added, "I hope your reunion with Adam is filled with love and joy. Please do send him my regards when you meet him. Tell him that Clover Academy is proud of him."
"Thank you, my lady." Anna smiled. "And yes, I will."
With that, she and the rest of the Magi in her group boarded the dirigible. Within the next few minutes, all the passengers were on board, and soon the metal behemoth took flight.
Headmistress Godfrey patiently watched the dirigible disappear into the clouds before turning around and heading out of Moon City.
Her next destination?
The City of Sails!
…
Caleport, Acadian Empire.
One of the most famous landmarks in the Empire, Caleport was known for its thriving and bustling city that was second only to Acryon.
Other than that, this place was also the home to one of the Four Pillars of the Empire.
The Tower of Daybreak!
Inside the secret plane owned and operated by this arcane institution, several students—Rank 2 - Mana Liquefaction Magi—had gathered under a giant berch tree, talking with one another excitedly.
"Today's finally the day we leave for Ravenfell!"
"Have any of you been there before?"
"Yes, I have! I went there with my elder brother when I was young."
"How is that place? Is it like Caleport?"
"Hmm, not quite. Ravenfell has a very antiquated vibe. When you arrive there, it feels like you've traveled back in time. Oh, and there are also countless ravens there!"
"Tsk, here I thought the city would be as modern as Caleport."
"But it has its own beauty, I tell you. You'll know once you arrive there."
Soon, the conversation shifted from the city of Ravenfell to one of its most famous residents.
"Hey, do you think we'll get to meet the Dark King?"
"I'm not sure… Why would a mighty Mana Vortex Magus want to meet us?"
"Besides, he's hailed as the greatest genius in not only Ulier but the whole of Tron. Do you really think he would meet us?"
"Haven't you heard the rumor?"
"What rumor?"
The group of students came closer to each other, speaking in hushed tones.
One of them pointed at the blonde young woman in the distance, who was surrounded by several other women, all of whom were students.
There was also an enormous white fox slumbering beside the blonde woman!
"They say the Dark King is her friend."
"That's… Is that true?!"
"Yes, it is the truth. I've heard that she and Professor Turner's grandson grew up alongside the Dark King. All three of them are close childhood friends."
"Sigh… How come these three people from the Federation turned out to be more talented than we who were born and raised in the Empire?"
"Not to mention that one of them is already a Mana Vortex Magus. The other is at the peak of Mana Liquefaction Magus, and she also isn't very far."
"All three are monsters..."
SCREECH!!
Suddenly, the sound of a griffin tore through the skies and drifted into the ears of all the students below on the grassy plain.
An enormous black griffin flapped its wings and landed near the white fox. Atop the griffin, sat a tall and muscular young man with black hair and blue eyes that seemed to flash with lightning.
When the man alighted from the griffin, all the students gathered around him, gazing at him with respect and admiration.
This young man was considered to be the greatest genius in the history of the Tower of Daybreak. He was only thirty-five years old, yet already at the peak of the Mana Liquefaction Rank!
If it wasn't for the Dark King, this young man would have surely become the youngest person to have advanced to the great Mana Vortex Rank!
The blue-eyed young man greeted his fellow students with a polite smile and approached the strikingly beautiful blonde woman who was sitting on the ground, resting her back against the white fox.
"Lisa," said the young man with a smile as he offered his hand to her. "Are you ready?"
Lisa gently clasped his hand and got to her feet. She didn't let go of his hand, however. Instead, she gently squeezed the man's hand and nodded.
She then asked with a warm smile, "And you… Eddie? Are you excited to see him?"
Edward grinned from ear to ear, his piercing blue eyes flashing with excitement.
"I cannot wait to meet that drunkard!"
