Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 831: Festive Spirit

After this encounter with the elderly man, Adam lost all interest in talking to him anymore.

Although outwardly he displayed a respectful and amicable appearance, inwardly, however, he was cursing the old bastard to just die already.

The man had, on two occasions, cast enchantment magic on him. Something like this was highly frowned upon in the arcane society.

Yet, he calls himself a man of principles? Adam sneered inwardly as we walked back to the entrance of the cave.

"Come on, Val, time to leave," he said to the young dragon, who seemed to be highly reluctant on parting ways with Blackie.

The black wolf spoke to him gently, "Go ahead, Valerian. I assure you, we will meet soon."

"Myu…" The young dragon's ears drooped in sadness. But he still nodded nontheless. "Okay."

He got on his hind legs, reaching out with his furry paws, gesturing for the wolf to hug him. Blackie smiled warmly and lowered his head, allowing the young dragon to share a fond moment with him.

Seeing this, Adam's heart was warmed. A few moments later, Valerian bid his farewells to the black wolf and then turned into a gray flash of light, disappearing inside the youth's spirit sea.

Seeing such a spectacle, the elderly Magus, who was standing at the side, couldn't help but be slightly startled.

He had never known any magical beast to have such a mystical ability. Although he was surprised by it, he didn't inquire about it from Adam. He simply stood there silently.

Adam astutely noticed the man's reaction. As the latter had said, he was quite observant.

But he didn't bother about him at all. He turned to Blackie and revealed a bittersweet smile. "You take care of the old man, alright?"

"Always." The wolf stepped forward and leaned in for an embrace. Adam put his arms around the wolf's neck and closed his eyes.

Who knew when he would see him next?

"Everything's going to be alright, Adam," Blackie whispered.

"Yeah… it will be." Adam smiled. He then turned around and walked to the edge of the cliffside.

He cast one final glance at the black wolf. "Farewell."

Then, he turned to the elderly Magus and gave a cursory nod.

Adam turned back around, facing the verdant scenery sprawling before him.

The Murky Mountains were expansive and teeming with danger at every turn, but with the orc's map in hand, he was sure that he could traverse this tough terrain much faster.

And what did he plan to do after he crossed the boundary marked in the orc's map?

The answer was simple.

He would find another orc tribe and 'nicely' ask its chief to hand over his map.

The raven-haired youth crouched low, gathering mana into his legs and preparing to jump. Right at that moment, the elderly man's calm voice drifted into his ears.

"You must not divulge the knowledge about the Greater Universe to anyone," he said.

Adam turned to look at him. A few moments later, he silently nodded.

"Very well." The elderly man revealed a faint smile, "I will see you soon, boy."

With that said, the man once again disappeared from the spot, completely sealing his presence.

"…Farewell, my lord." Adam forced a smile.

He then cast one final glance towards Blackie and the towering stone doors inside the cave before turning around and leaping off of the cliff.

The youth vaulted through the skies, crossing a large distance from a single jump. The effects of his advancement in physique enhancement were already beginning to show.

He was stronger, faster, and much more formidable than before.

With a loud thud that caused the surroundings to slightly tremble, Adam landed on the ground amidst the thick underbush, tall trees, and predatory gazes that lurked in the shadows.

He conjured the Staff of Calamity and casually swung it in his hand, getting into a fighting stance.

The journey through the Murky Mountains was not going to be easy. He would be constantly besieged by wild magical beasts, ogres, orcs, and trolls.

Although inconvenient, this would also temper his survival skills and fighting prowess to a great extent.

And by the time he emerged from the Murky Mountains and set foot in the lands belonging to the Acadian Empire on the other side, he would no longer be the man he once was.

The trials of these treacherous lands would forge new strength within him, the pain would temper his will, and the experiences would deepen his power.

Adam's dark eyes flashed with resolve, and he dashed into the heart of the Murky Mountains, vanquishing all who dared to stand in his way.

Unstoppable.

Unyielding.

Tyrannical.

Ravenfell, Acadian Empire.

With the Grand Magus Tournament only a few months away, the city of Ravenfell saw a great influx of visitors, both Magi and mortals alike.

These people were drawn by the promise of spectacle, glory, and arcane brilliance.

The inns in the city were already overflowing due to the large number of people coming in every day. Despite preparing for this event for years, the inns and other establishments still fell short in the end.

The Grand Magus Tournament held great allure, yes. But there was also something else, or rather someone else, that these people had come to glimpse.

After all, for the past year, the name on everyone's lips had been his.

The Dark King!

However, he was nowhere in sight. Forget the foreign tourists, even the people of the city did not know where he had gone.

The man had seemingly vanished after the Blackshore Incident. But this, in turn, created an even more mysterious air around him.

The longer the wait, the greater the satisfaction.

Apart from the Dark King, countless other tales and rumors began to spread around like wildfire.

Some were related to the rising prodigies of the Tower of Daybreak, Greenfield Ridge, Coral Cove, and Saratoga Castle.

While others were about legendary Magi returning from seclusion to witness this great tournament.

All eyes fell on Ravenfell. On the surface, a festive spirit swept the lands, but beneath the revelry, something sinister stirred.

Quiet, patient, and waiting for the right moment to strike!

What the outcome of this year's Grand Magus Tournament would be, no one could say. As the days crept closer, tension coiled tighter around the city of Ravenfell.

But one thing was for certain…

This would be no ordinary tournament!
