Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 833: Welcome to Ravenfell

The Mana Liquefaction Magi standing around Edwin couldn't help but begin to feel awkward, especially now that people of Saratoga were nearby and could clearly hear him.

For the past several months, Edwin Turner had spared no effort to let the faculty members of the Tower know just how stupid they were to miss out on recruiting Adam when he was just a newly advanced Mana Liquefaction Magus.

Over a decade ago, when Adam had set foot in Acryon, the capital of the Acadian Empire, Edwin Turner had met him for the first time and even tried to convince the other professors at the Tower to extend an acceptance letter and even a scholarship to this promising young man.

But at the time, the Tower hadn't expended as much effort as Edwin hoped they would. They were casual about it.

Mostly because the institution already had countless applications flooding in and they couldn't care to bother about a 'genius' from a backwater place like the Southern Federation to amount to all that much.

Yet now, this 'genius' from a backwater place had earned the title of King!

"Grandfather, please…" Behind Edwin stood a tall and muscular young man with piercing blue eyes.

The youth shared a great similarity with him and was none other than the number one prodigy of the Tower of Daybreak, Edward Turner.

Seeing his grandfather react in such a manner, especially before the people of Saratoga, caused Edward to be embarrassed.

Not just him, the others were also very embarrassed. But there was nothing they could do about it. Edwin was the leader of this group of Magi from the Tower. He was also the strongest among them.

The old man turned around and glared at his grandson, "Edward, shut your mouth or I will beat you in front of all these people."

Edward couldn't help but shrink back. He may be the number one prodigy of the Tower, aloof and mighty in the eyes of all its students, but in front of his grandfather, he was no different than a child.

Standing beside the blue-eyed youth, a beautiful woman with blonde, wavy hair and green eyes couldn't help but let out a light chuckle.

For some reason, Lisa always liked to see this version of Edward, where the latter would behave no differently than a ten-year-old before his elders.

"He's right, you know," came the flat voice of an elderly lady draped in white robes with golden embroidery, standing beside Edwin.

"Stop embarrassing us in front of our friends. We're already aware of your grievances about not being able to recruit the Dark King to the Tower."

Edwin turned towards his colleague, Marcella Ridley, a powerful Mana Vortex Magus of the Tower. She was also Lisa's mentor.

The old man simply growled at her. He had no time to quarrel as the people from Saratoga had already arrived before them, welcoming them with warm smiles.

The one leading them was none other than the Department Head of the School of Summoning at Saratoga Castle, as well as the one managing the tournament this time.

Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magus, Mathilda Withaker!

Usually, she would not have personally welcomed the people arriving in the city, no matter how prestigious their backgrounds.

Furthermore, as the overseer of the Grand Magus Tournament, she had a lot on her plate as it is.

But in this case, she had to make an exception. After all, the visitors this time were people from one of the Four Pillars, just like Saratoga.

The kind, elderly woman glanced at Edwin, a hint of playfulness flickering in her eyes. "Goodness gracious! A respected Professor of the Tower of Daybreak, openly talking about kidnapping? And here I thought I had seen everything this world had to offer."

"Mathilda…" Edwin growled. But soon, his expression did a one-eighty, and he arched his back, bursting into laughter. "Kahaha, it has been a while, hasn't it?"

Professor Whitaker revealed a warm smile, "Yes, it has, Edwin. It is nice to see you again."

She then turned to the old woman standing beside him and smiled, "And you, too, Marcella. Welcome to Ravenfell."

"It is a pleasure, my friend." Professor Marcella stepped forward and warmly hugged her. It would seem that the two shared a long-standing history.

"Allow me to introduce you to my pupil," said the old woman, gesturing to the blonde young lady behind her. "This is Lisa de Clare."

Lisa stepped forward and offered a graceful courtesy. "It is an honor to meet you, Lady Whitaker. My mentor has spoken of you often. It is a pleasure to see you in person."

Professor Whitaker smiled warmly, "Welcome to Ravenfell, my dear."

She then greeted all the Mana Vortex Magi in a friendly manner. Each of them then introduced her to their respective pupils.

Finally, she arrived before Edwin again, her gaze curiously darting towards the young man, who was a spitting image of him, standing behind him.

"Aren't you going to introduce your grandson to me?" She asked with a playful smirk.

Edwin crossed his arms and slightly turned his head before roaring, "Boy, where are your manners?!" He paused for a moment before adding, "You, too, Biden!"

The two young men awkwardly stepped forward, cursing the old man for embarrassing them everywhere they went.

"Greetings, Lady Whitaker." Edward placed his right hand on his chest and gave a respectful bow. "My name is Edward Turner, a Mana Liquefaction Magus. It is an honor to meet you."

Another young man with blond hair and blue eyes, and a dashing appearance, stepped forward and respectfully offered his greetings.

"I am called Biden Fors, my lady," he said. "It is a true honor to make your acquaintance."

Professor Whitaker hummed, displaying a gentle smile as she observed the two.

So this is Edwin's grandson, she thought to herself as she gazed at Edward.

He is called the greatest prodigy to have ever come out of the Tower. Hmm, he seems to be already at the peak of the Mana Liquefaction Rank.

Her lips involuntarily formed a smugish smirk.

But still, he is nothing compared to our Adam. Hoho~

Her gaze then shifted to Biden Fors. Although not much is known about this young man, but considering he is Edwin's pupil, he must surely be special.

After the initial greetings were over, the delegation from Saratoga led the Magi from the Tower out of the skyport, where several carriages were already waiting for them.

Edward elbowed his friend, Biden, and asked in a hushed tone, "Hey, where do you think we're going?"

"Saratoga Castle, of course," Biden whispered back. "We have to pay our respects to the Headmaster first."

"I see…" Edward instantly lost interest. He turned towards the expansive Ravenfell skyline and couldn't help but mumble, "I was thinking I'd get to see the drunkard first."

"If by 'drunkard' you mean Adam, then you're in for a real disappointment."

Professor Whitaker's amused words rang through the air. Not just Edward, but the entire group from the Tower was surprised.

After all, they all wanted to meet the prodigious young Magus who had earned the title of King.

"My Lady… what do you mean by that?" Edward asked, confused.

"Mathilda, is Adam not in Ravenfell?" Edwin asked with an arched eyebrow.

"Hoho," Professor Whitaker let out a dry chuckle. "No, he isn't."

"Then where is he?" Edward pressed. "Do you know?"

"Who knows?" Professor Whitaker lightly shrugged.

"He simply disappeared after the Blackshore Incident."
