Chapter 2045: Impossible Success.
They were supposed to have infinite time and infinite power because of the expansion of their existence across time and space. But whoever the entity that is killing them in the future is, it is so powerful that not a single portion of their existence, present or past, will remain when it is done with them.
By their estimate, all versions of them through time, including the part that is locked by the Time Lock, will be destroyed by their enemy. They will cease to exist across history and time and be forgotten.
This power is terrifying, and to be honest, it terrified Legion a little. But they are only terrified. They won't give up yet because there is still hope.
They are running out of time to find a solution, but they still have one other option they haven't tried.
Back to their ultimate past, Legion was considering either looking for another beyonder or asking the god of power nicely for information.
They got the message from their future, so they didn't bother asking him. Instead, they rushed out of the void universe in search of the other beyonder.
So the god of power had just taken the white sphere while the system had just taken the will of the void universe. But instead of Legion to rage in anger, ten clones of Legion suddenly left while the rest were silent.
The god of power found this to be odd. He expected Legion to be angry and to say something in anger. But they just silently watched him leave.
They didn't roar, and they didn't pursue him. He knew then that a ploy was afoot.
There was no way he would believe that Legion didn't care about what he had done. He had literally stolen the most valuable thing in the void universe, yet he didn't hear a single word of displeasure.
If anyone says that Legion is not scheming something, he wouldn't believe them. In fact, he suspects that Legion had allowed all of this to happen to set him up for something.
But he can't figure out what their goal is. And frankly, he doesn't have the leisure to care.
He is running out of time to leave. The fear of ANNIHILATION has been ingrained in him despite not meeting ANNIHILATION once.
He knows that if someone so much as has the slightest contact with ANNIHILATION, including looking at ANNIHILATION or speaking its name, they will be doomed.
His fear of ANNIHILATION trumps any fear he has of Legion, so he didn't stop to ask or consider what scheme Legion could be planning. He continued to run for his dear life.
Meanwhile, the two remaining clones also busied themselves with taking control of the Time Lock and absorbing it into their Origin.
The ten clones that left the core of the void universe split into two groups. One group of seven clones went in search of the white spiritual Beyonder, while the other group, made of three clones, focused on taking control of the corridor of worlds and absorbing it into their origin.
Only one of their objectives was easy to achieve. The easy one was absorbing the Time Lock. The other two were very difficult.
The corridor of worlds spanned the void universe. It is a colossal artifact the size of a large universe, yet they have to control it and absorb it.
As for the spiritual beyonder, finding her in the void universe is like searching for a needle in an ocean. It is a lost cause because of the near-zero chance of success. It is safe to say that it is impossible to succeed.
But despite all of these difficulties, the three groups of Legion completed their goal. They completed it because, despite it looking like only they were looking for the spiritual beyonder and trying to absorb the corridor of worlds, it is not only them that are tackling these two problems.
There is a large number of Legion across time doing the same thing over and over again. One of them across the time stream succeeded, which means all of them across the time stream will succeed.
They found the god of the soul and surrounded her. Before she could activate the Transcendence Boat, they grabbed her, infected her, and sealed her existence.
They achieved the impossible by finding her. However, they still couldn't achieve total success.
The impact of seven powerful entities working together to bite her was powerful. What's more, they already knew her weakness, so they were able to capture her immediately.
Unfortunately, she possessed the Transcendence Boat, so she was always able to fight back. If she couldn't escape, she would commit suicide to prevent her existence from being enslaved by them.
So the best they could get from her was just some of her memories. It wasn't complete, but it was more than what Legion-4 got from her the first time he encountered her.
They were not happy with the partial success, but they were still glad for the knowledge they acquired from her. It was knowledge that they urgently needed.
From her memories, they learned the identity of the god of power, the god of wisdom, and the god of soul. They learned of the relationship between the three of them and the lord of madness.
They learned about the cosmos and what it meant to be supreme. They learned about the death of the Supreme, ANNIHILATION's imprisonment, the void universe's job in this imprisonment, the Transcendence Boat, and what the beyonders came to the void universe to get.
These things that they learned are very important knowledge. Especially the part of her memory where they learned that it was she who made the clones of Monarch High Heaven give them information that helped them become Limitless.
What really stood out to them is that while that information was helpful, some of it was false or made up. The one that was made up was information about ABSOLUTES and how to become one.
