Greetings, Mister Principal

Chapter 130: The Journey Starts Again

When he woke up in the morning, the cat had disappeared, leaving only a few tufts of cat hair. Reiner yawned, got up and cleaned the desk, and checked the content of the paper again.

He first let an owl send his amendment, and then put Fina's father's paper into the folder.

Reiner didn't know whether the paper review committee would accept a paper from a deceased person, so he decided to send the paper in person and wrote a letter to Mercury Balance to explain the reason.

After packing up, Reiner met Fina when he went downstairs.

"Did you sleep well last night?"

Reiner stroked Fina's short hair that hadn't combed, and asked with a smile.

"Mhm."

Fina nodded. It seemed that she was still not used to Reiner's behavior, but she did not object to it. She wanted to say something, but she was hesitant, and after a moment of silence, she finally opened her mouth.

"Can I really stay here?"

She was referring to Reiner's hiring of her. Although at that time, hiring her should be regarded as an emergency plan, Reiner did not say anything after leaving the town of Sur, making Fina a little worried.

"Do you mean the position of assistant professor? Of course you can stay here if you want." Reiner said straightforwardly.

"If you get excellent results after the magic test and want to find a better place to study, I will also write you a letter of recommendation. Although the reputation of Luna Nova Magical Academy is not well-known, the recommendation of the winner of the Hohenheim Golden Cup still has some weight."

Reiner left it to Fina to decide whether she wanted to go or stay.

"But if you experience any setback outside, or if you can't find the way forward, and want a place to rest, then you are always welcome to come back to Luna Nova Magical Academy, this is your new home."

Here Reiner's words Fina's eyes were wide open.

She originally thought that she no longer had a place that she could call "home", but Reiner told her that Luna Nova Magical Academy was her new home.

Fina's nose twitched. She turned her face away, not wanting Reiner to notice her tears.

"Claire probably hasn't awakened yet. Go and tell her later that I will be away for a few days."

"Away?"

Fina's eyes were still a little red, and she looked at Reiner in confusion. They had just returned from the town of Sur, but Reiner was going out again?

"Yes, I've completed the thesis for your father, and I'm going to help him get an honor that should belong to him."

Reiner patted the document in his hands and said.

"...Thank you."

Fina seemed to have a lot to say, but in the end, she could only say those two words. She watched Reiner leave, and stood at the place for a very long time before she finally walked again.

......

Reiner's destination this time was Ernest in the Midland Federation, which was thousands of miles away from Prester where Luna Nova Magical Academy was located. He needed to take an airship to get there.

He chose there because there would be an academic conference in Ernest. Unlike the annual conference organized by Mercury Balance, Ernest's academic conference was hosted by the Midland Federation. They had invited many mages, including the legendary mages, regardless of their factions or nationalities, to start a week-long academic exchange activity in Ernest.

This was the meeting that Reiner wanted to attend.

He had previously communicated with His Excellency Demetrius and learned about this event, but he was hesitating to participate because of the long distance. Now that he had a special mission, he would of course go to the meeting.

The airship rose slowly, the dense urban buildings gradually became smaller, and the pedestrians on the street quickly became as small as ants. As the airship rose higher, the clouds blocked the view, leaving only a pure white colour underneath the airship and blue color in the distance.

This airship would head straight to Ernest, so there were many mages amongst passengers.

Similar to Mercury Balance back then, many mages hoped to meet some prestigious mages through this event, in order to obtain a good relationship. But this time it was more than just alchemy mages.

Reiner bought a second-class ticket, which was economical and affordable. Although it was not as spacious as a first-class guest room, with only one seat, it was still soft and comfortable, and the attendant would bring drinks and snacks from time to time, so the service was good.

The journey would last about five hours. Reiner originally planned to take a nap to relieve the fatigue caused by continuous experiments and writing papers over the past few days, but the person sitting next to him was very energetic.

"I'm telling you, do you know why the Ernest meeting is held in Ernest?"

Several young mages were talking enthusiastically, without paying attention to the faces of the people around them.

"Why, I haven't heard of this before."

"Isn't it because this meeting is hosted by the Midland Federation?"

"That's because Ernest of the Midland Federation is the first place where the stargate was discovered on the main plane. It has an important commemorative significance in the magic world!"

The voice of that person suddenly became higher, causing several people around him to exclaim in a low voice.

It was almost like a group of elementary school students going to some museums. Reiner thought. He wanted to remind these people to keep their voice down, but someone else said before him.

"You have disrupted other people, please keep your voice down."

It was a female voice, with a sense of seriousness. Reiner turned his head to look at the person. It was a woman who was sitting on the other side of the aisle from him. The woman had long red hair, amber eyes, wearing a designer's mage robe, with four golden flickering stripes on her cuffs. This was a fourth-ring mid-level mage.

Hearing the woman's reprimand, the few people originally wanted to refute a few words, but they immediately shut their mouths after seeing the woman's robe.

There were not many fourth-ring mages near Prester, but all of them were very influential. Although Reiner didn't know this woman and didn't know why she appeared in the second-class cabin, he knew that this was a woman that those rookies mages could not afford to offend.

Seeing those people finally stop, the woman nodded in satisfaction, swept her gaze to the side, and caught a glimpse of Reiner looking at her.

"Thank you."

Reiner smiled slightly when he noticed the other person's gaze, and said.

The woman didn't say anything. She nodded, and then leaned on her seat and closed her eyes to rest.

Reiner also decided to take a rest for a while, but when he was half-awake, an alarm woke him.

"What's the matter?"

‘An airship accident? Don't tell me that I am that unlucky.'

Reiner thought to himself. He then saw the attendant look very anxious and constantly coming and going in the aisle. Reiner looked out the window and found that the airship had reached the top of a city.

Boom——

A turbulence hit the airship, causing the people in the cabin to scream. Those young mages that had been talking excitedly earlier were no longer that excited. All the passengers had a look of panic on their faces.

"Dear passengers, we've encountered turbulence on the way down, and we are trying to stabilize the airship. Please don't panic."

The attendant finally brought some information. He was trying to calm the passengers, but this actually made people even more panic.

The mage below the middle level couldn't fly on their own power at all. If the airship crashed, almost no one could escape.

Under such circumstances, Reiner saw the female mage beside him stand up with a calm expression.

"Please take me to the bridge, I want to check the situation."
