Even though his voice was calm, the guards stiffened upon hearing his words. They looked at one another and did not know what to say, Murong Si being the fiance of Yu Tong, saying that he had nothing to say to her was equivalent to announcing that he had no interest in his fiancée. But then again who would be willing to stay with a fiancee who had embarrassed him by throwing his face on the ground?

One of the guards was certain that Murong Si was here to break the engagement and felt a bit disappointed. Even though Lin Hanjing was pretty, his beauty was gentle and very mild.

One of the guards on the left answered Murong Si's query, "Madam Yu is in the strawberry fields with Master Shen. The two of them are taking a walk together, so you will find them with ease." Even though the guard said that she still pointed Murong Si in the right direction while telling him where to turn and where to stop. "If you get lost then just ask anyone in the village.

Murong Si nodded and thanked the guard before turning to walk in the direction in which she had pointed. As he walked past the path of the village, he ran into many villagers who were looking resplendent and happy. Compared to his village, where the villagers looked like they hadn't eaten a decent meal for ages, this village was brimming with vitality.

Almost no one was starved, even the mers looked like they were being given meat and eggs to eat.

The mer children were the same, they did not look sallow and had a healthy complexion. While they indeed feared their mothers like in his village, they did not have the same sunken appearance as their mothers though strict gave them enough to eat.

"What do you mean you don't want to eat this egg?" One of the village women questioned her mer son. "You kept harping about eating eggs but now you are refusing."

"Little Light from the house next door called me fat mother!" The mer son quibbled as his chubby cheeks wobbled. "I don't want to be fat."

"Who dared to call you fat? Come! Mother will talk with Little Light's mother, how dare she call you fat. If Miss Yu finds out that you have lost weight, it will be my bottom that will get beaten!" The village woman picked up her mer son and went looking for Little Light's mother.

When Murong Si heard the words of the woman, he laughed softly. So this was why it was said that only a good leader made great changes. Compared to his mother, who only cared about filling her belly, Yu Dong seemed to be much more generous with the villagers. At least she made sure that the mer sons of every family wouldn't be starved.

As Murong Si arrived in front of the strawberry fields, he was stunned to find large patches of strawberry farms scattered inside the greenhouses.

He knew that the Big River Village was growing strawberries but he did not think that they were producing them at such a mass level.

He swallowed his saliva when he saw the red strawberries fluttering in the wind and releasing a soft and sweet scent. Even though he was eager to try one, he did not forget that he needed to ask for the permission of the owner to try and taste one.

His gaze fell on Shen Li and Yu Dong who were walking inside the greenhouse. Shen Li was walking beside Yu Dong with a big belly while Yu Dong was supporting him. She picked up a ripe strawberry and then dipped it in a white liquid that was placed on the small table inside the greenhouse before offering it to Shen Li.

"Does the taste of this strawberry along with condensed milk taste good?" Yu Dong asked her husband.

Shen Li carefully chewed the strawberry before replying, "It tastes rather good. I am sure if you launch it in the mall, it will sell well."

"Haha, is that so? But I am not selling these for now. I was thinking of making a strawberry milkshake and selling it in the snack area," Yu Dong stated as she wiped her fingers with a handkerchief. "Selling these would take time and effort on our part, which is why I am thinking of opening—— all you can harvest strawberries for two taels."

"What do you mean by this?" Shen Li frowned and questioned with a slightly confused expression.

Yu Dong smiled at him and then explained, "We have grown and raised a lot of strawberry farms but we cannot sell all these strawberries. However it will be a huge loss if we let them rot, so we can open a service where each person for thirty minutes can harvest as many strawberries as they want… they can even eat them with the condensed milk.

This way we will be able to earn a few taels and the strawberries would be eaten as well instead of turning overly ripe."

Yu Dong was now in a position where she no longer had to worry about money anymore.

Shen Li had no objections as he too knew that his wife would not plan anything without thorough consideration.

Up until now, every decision that Yu Dong had made had only benefited them.
