Ruan Chanchan turned on her feet and ran away as fast as she could; she did not even take the stone bowl with her. What a joke! That mer actually threw a fully grown woman from the cliff. 

Right now, he was too charmed by the aroma of noodles and was busy filling his stomach. Ruan Chanchan was sure that once those noodles went into his stomach and he was stuffed, he would knock the stuffing out of her body. 

After all, who knows how long he has been watching her from behind? 

Oh mother! She not only lit a fire, but she also took out a lighter and packets of noodles from thin air. Who knows what that mer might do to her once he was done eating? Maybe she would be torn limb from limb for doing such 'dangerous magic tricks'.

"Shut up! You are so useless." Ruan Chanchan turned and glared at the system. "You couldn't even detect that someone was watching me. If you had, then this wouldn't have happened!" 

"You didn't ask me to," replied Xiao Xi, which pissed Ruan Chanchan off so much that she jumped to her feet and stretched the body of the system. "You idiot, as my system, you need to guarantee my safety; that's your job! If I die, what will you do, huh? What will happen to this world? Dummy! Dummy!" 

"Ewts Viaovi fiest time being —oooh a swystem," Xiao Xi groaned, with his body turning into a rugby ball from a volleyball. 

"You—where is your customer service number? I want to file a complaint." 

"You want to file a complaint over this small matter?" 

"My death is a small matter to you?!" Ruan Chanchan shrieked as she stretched the system harder. "You damned thing, I knew you were a cheater the second you handed me my own mall after polishing it a little. I just knew it. Give me my refund! A life where I am a billionaire with good-looking mers serving me along with a fantastic house. Give it to meeee!" 

She yelled while shaking the system. 

"Umm?" 

Just as the two were about to brawl, Ruan Chanchan heard Ruan Zeqiu moan and turned to look at the mer who was stirring in his sleep. She and Xiao Xi paused as they went—I look at you, you look at me. 

"Let's go to sleep," Ruan Chanchan said with a despondent sigh. If she was going to die tomorrow, then she might as well have a good night's sleep. She couldn't have a good meal; at least she could sleep well. 

Xie Daiyu, who had just finished eating the noodles in the pot, wiped his lips and turned to look behind him. He was about to ask Ruan Chanchan about more of these noodles when he realised that the woman had long left. 

Xie Daiyu: "..." 

He placed the two wooden sticks in the bowl and tilted his head to the side. 

"Where did she go?" he muttered, quite surprised when he didn't see Ruan Chanchan. Usually, women chased after him and took the initiative to sit next to him. But Ruan Chanchan actually ran away from him? 

Was she angry with him? 

Xie Daiyu thought about how he had eaten Ruan Chanchan's meal and stiffened. Oh dear, oh dear, what did he do? He actually snatched her meal and ate it all? 

Xie Daiyu's face turned red when he thought about how he finished everything in the bowl and never asked Ruan Chanchan to eat. If he were in her place, he too would have been really angry. After all, he knew that, as beastmen, they were really protective of their food. 

Maybe he would go and hand her some fish, thought Ruan Chanchan. It seemed like she didn't like eating beast meat; since that was the case, he might as well give her some fish. The more he thought about it, the more Xie Daiyu thought that he needed to apologise for his actions. 

But after he finished dealing with half of his troubles, he suddenly started to wonder what kind of powers Ruan Chanchan had. How could she light a fire when no one else could? 

Even he, as the son of the tribe leader, couldn't do it. So, how did Ruan Chanchan do it?

As soon as his thoughts started to turn, they twisted in such a manner that Xie Daiyu could no longer sit still. Ruan Chanchan—she must be the Beast Goddess! 

That must be it! She must have been blessed by the beast goddess, or she might be the goddess herself, which was why she was able to light fire. 

Once Xie Daiyu finished thinking, he started to tremble in excitement. 

He turned around on his feet and wanted to chase after Ruan Chanchan, but stopped in his tracks after taking three steps. Wait, what was he doing?

He sighed and scratched the back of his head. With a twist of his neck, he looked behind the burning fire before turning on his feet and walking back to his cave.
