Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Crysty's Scheme
"Lyra!?"
Eiden blinked hard at his phone screen.
"Why is she asking me to hang out… out of nowhere?" He squinted. "Wait, is it another typo? But this time it's a full sentence... so that's not the case. Then why?" He tried to find some logical reason behind it, but nothing came to mind. There hadn't been any new development between them, no new interaction, no change in behavior. Puzzled, he decided to ask the only reliable source in his life right now. "System-chan, show me the progress for Lyra Ding."
Lyra Progress: 64%
"Huh? Still the same... 64%. No change at all i mean i haven't done anything ." He frowned. If her progress hadn't gone up, then what was this sudden message about? Was it a prank? A trap? Or worse... a mistake? After a brief moment of indecision, he sighed and typed back a simple reply.
"Sure".
Meanwhile, in a certain room not far away…
"Crysty! Give that back!" Lyra's panicked voice echoed as she wrestled on the bed, her hand desperately reaching for her phone.
"Nope!" Crysty chirped as she dodged Lyra's grasp, holding the phone high above her head. "You've been staring at his number for the past ten minutes and doing nothing. I just helped!"
"You sent it!?" Lyra's eyes widened in horror.
Crysty gave a mischievous grin. "Yup. I already pressed send." "NOOO!!" Lyra's face turned pale. She lunged harder, trying to grab the phone, her hands clawing at the air.
Their struggle intensified fair, delicate skin rubbing against each other, smooth slender legs entangled like coiled vines ,their plumb breast tackling each other as if to assert dominance. Pillows flew. The bedsheets twisted around them. Crysty laughed as she used one hand to push Lyra's head down, keeping the phone just out of reach with the other.
"Quick! Delete it before he sees it!" Lyra shouted desperately. Crysty snorted. "Oh, it's too late for that. He already saw it." Just then Clack! the door to Lyra's room opened. Both girls froze in a tangled mess as , heads whipping toward the entrance. Standing at the doorway was Linda.
Her eyes widened at the sight before her two girls flushed, struggling on a bed, clothes slightly disheveled as they were almost half naked as their clothes were almost escaping them and their breathings were heavy with sweats dripping down eachother's body, Crysty on top of Lyra holding a phone. There was a pause. A long, painful pause. Then, Linda's expression shifted slowly from shock to confusion, and finally to cold indifference.
"Sorry for interrupting," she said in a flat, distant voice. "I didn't know you two were... like this." With that, she closed the door.
Click.
"Nooo! It's not what it looks like!" both Lyra and Crysty yelled in unison, scrambling off each other. But it was too late. Linda was gone.
Mortified, Lyra grabbed her phone at last. Her fingers flew to open the messaging app. Her breath caught as she saw the screen. "He... he replied," she whispered, frozen. Crysty peeked over her shoulder. "What? What did he say?"
Lyra stared at the message: Sure. She repeated herself, this time louder. "He said... Sure." Crysty's brow arched. "That's good, right?" Lyra looked horrified. "No, it's not! I have to tell him it was you who wrote the message! I can't let him misunderstand!"
Just as she was about to type her explanation, Crysty interrupted with a dramatic sigh. "Poor Eiden…" Lyra paused. "What do you mean?"
Crysty turned to her with a teasing expression. "Just think about it. From his point of view you just asked him out on a date. And his reply? A shy little 'Sure'. So simple, so subtle... that means he probably likes you."
Lyra's cheeks flushed pink. "B-but it wasn't me, it was you who wrote it! Shouldn't you be the one to go with him?"
Crysty smirked. "Tsk, tsk. You're missing the point. He doesn't know it was me. As far as he's concerned, you're the one who asked him out. He thinks you like him. So his reply? It was to you, not me." Lyra bit her lip. "…You might be right."
"So?" Crysty leaned in, eyes glinting. "What are you gonna do?" "I… I don't know…" Lyra muttered. "It's simple," Crysty said. "Just go out with him tomorrow." "What!?" Lyra almost dropped the phone again. Crysty raised her hands defensively. "Hey, it's just a single date. One day. You're not agreeing to marry him." "But "
Before she could finish, Crysty interrupted again with exaggerated dramatics. "Ohh, poor Eiden! All this time, he's never had a girlfriend. And now, just when he dares to dream, when he finally thinks a girl likes him, she'll stomp his fragile heart like a cockroach…"
"Hey!" Lyra scowled. "Don't make it sound like I'm some kind of monster!"
"You're not?" Crysty blinked innocently.
"I'm not heartless! Or obscene!" Lyra huffed, her cheeks puffing out in frustration. Crysty, inwardly smirking at how easily Lyra could be pushed, gave a knowing nod. "Then you'll go, right?" Lyra hesitated. But he has Sasha , to her reply Crysty frowned a little and ssid , " Don't you know Eiden and Sasha are childhood from way back they are basically siblings st this point , they don't have any romantic feelings at all of not they would already be dating with how close they are but they aren't dating which means they don't see eachother as a romantic partner potential so its ok , Hearing this Lyra thought for a while before responding " T- Then I… guess I could. Just once."
"Exactly. It's not like you're forced to keep dating him afterward." Lyra thought for a moment, her face torn between nervousness and reluctant acceptance. "…Okay."
Crysty grinned. Heh. Got her.
"Alright then," Lyra said with a sigh. "Now I just need to send a reply… something casual "
"Give me that!" Crysty snatched the phone from her hands again. "H-Hey!" With a few quick taps, Crysty typed a message: Let's meet at Caribbean Park at 10:30 AM sharp 💖
"What's with the heart!?" Lyra cried. "That was totally unnecessary!" "I know," Crysty said sweetly, her tone dripping with mischief. "That's why I added it." Lyra pouted.
Eiden, on the other end, stared at the message. "…Caribbean Park? 10:30?" he muttered aloud, raising an eyebrow. And then the heart emoji. He blinked at it. "was the heart emoji a typo too like before ?This feels off ". But despite the doubt, he still typed back: Looking forward to tomorrow.
He then contiplated for a while and remembered something, "The reason Lyra got hold of my number in the first place was because Crysty gave it her , he connected the dots a little and murmured " Is the one who wrote the message was actually Crysty" ?
