Harem With Venom In Marvel/Dc

Chapter 165: Chapter 163: Liquid Nitrogen Bomb

The hoarse voice of the elderly man echoed through the dim room, carrying an invisible pressure.

"What have you found about the hundred Batmans that appeared in Gotham?"

Everyone exchanged nervous glances, unwilling to meet the old man's gaze.

As the old man grew increasingly impatient, one individual shakily stood up.

"Lord, we spent a full day investigating the records of all those who entered the city recently, but none of the hundred Batmans were in the records. It's as if they appeared out of nowhere."

"You mean, they came into this city, bypassing everyone who controls Gotham: the underground, the ports, the traffic, the planes, and all the entry points?" The old man's eyes filled with disappointment and coldness, his gaze freezing anyone it fell upon.

"The Court of Owls is rotting. It seems it's time to replace some of you," the old man muttered to himself, his voice low, but chilling enough to make every person present feel as if they were standing in an ice cave.

"Wait, Lord, not all of the entry points are under our control. The Wayne family's passage isn't. It must have been them. It was definitely Bruce Wayne who let them in."

"Yes, it must be Bruce Wayne. Those Batmans were certainly let in by him."

"Send the Talons! Get all the Talons out there, and we can find those Batmans for sure."

Panic and fear filled the eyes of the Court of Owls' members. This meant they would have to clean up everything—family members and everyone who knew their identities.

They all knew the terror of the Owl Council. No one could escape.

Just as the old man was about to speak, a loud, shrill alarm rang through the room.

The Owls scrambled to open the surveillance screens, only to see several Robins walking through the white maze. At their current pace, they would reach the room in an hour.

"The white maze has been breached."

The old man's expression turned calm, his face as still as dead water.

This caused an immediate panic among the others. If they didn't act soon, their entire families would be wiped out.

"Lord, I know them. They're Batman's Robins. If we capture them, we can extract all the information about those hundred Batmans."

"One last chance," the old man's voice was cold, emotionless.

Upon hearing this, everyone rushed out of the room. The elegance they once held was gone, replaced by desperation, as they ran like a pack of frightened dogs.

After everyone had left, the old man took out a communicator.

"Hello, what is your application?" A mechanical voice came from the other side.

"Gotham."

"Please provide the digits."

"40."

"Understood. Action time."

"One week from now."

He hung up the communicator and leaned on his jeweled cane, walking out.

Once, he had been a noble in Gotham, climbing his way up to this position. This trip was to investigate the hundred Batmans, but also to see the next generation of his people.

But he was deeply disappointed. All they knew was how to enjoy life in Gotham, forgetting the mission of the Court of Owls.

Rather than keeping them, it was better to replace them with more ambitious, younger members.

Several figures trailed behind him, moving like shadows.

Dick and the others had been wandering the white maze for a long time, each wearing a gas mask.

The maze not only contained traps but also colorless, odorless poison gas. If Tim hadn't detected it beforehand, they might have already fallen inside.

"How much longer?"

Jason asked impatiently, having seen no sign of the enemy. The maze was draining his energy, and his mood was growing more agitated.

"Soon. This is a large, one-way passage underground maze, similar to the Greek mythological labyrinth. The path is complex, with many dead ends and misleading passages, making it easy to get lost. But I've figured out the route."

Tim's voice came muffled from behind the gas mask, somewhat dampened.

He was mentally mapping the path and couldn't help but be surprised by the immense wealth that must have been spent to construct such a maze.

At that moment, faint footsteps echoed from the surrounding darkness, becoming increasingly clear.

"Be careful, someone is coming."

Dick quickly drew his short staff, his body tense.

The group stood back-to-back, vigilantly watching their surroundings.

The footsteps grew louder, coming from all directions, and countless masked figures wearing owl masks began to appear from the maze's tunnels.

"Surrender, Robins!"

"This is not your city, Green Arrow!"

They charged toward them, each holding a sharp weapon.

"It's the Talons!"

"So many of them."

"I'll take the first shot."

Jason didn't hesitate, aiming his gun at one Talon's head and pulling the trigger.

Bang!

The Talon nimbly dodged the shot and was about to charge forward, only to be struck in the chest by an arrow.

Szzz—

Frost spread from the arrow's impact point as the Talon stiffened and fell to the ground.

"Liquid nitrogen! How did you know our weakness?"

One of the Talons voiced in surprise.

"Looks like your gun's not as good as mine," Oliver said with a hint of pride.

"Hmph!"

Jason snorted in disdain and threw a bomb into the crowd of Talons.

Boom!

As the bomb exploded, liquid nitrogen spread rapidly, freezing the Talons around them and slowing their movements.

Seizing the opportunity, Jason fired his guns simultaneously. He had long abandoned his "no-kill" rule.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of gunshots rang out, flashes of light breaking through the darkness.

Jason's eyes were cold and resolute, each shot landing in the head of a Talon. In a few breaths, six Talons had already collapsed, their blood spreading across the ground.

The remaining Talons, seeing the situation was dire, quickly retreated from the frozen area covered in liquid nitrogen and bullets.

"Antiques should be kept in a collection room, not taken out to fight," Jason mocked with disdain.

With that, he threw all his remaining liquid nitrogen bombs.

Szzz—

The liquid nitrogen bombs exploded, and the temperature plummeted drastically, filling the area with a cold mist.

The Talons' bodies began to stiffen, their movements becoming sluggish.

Jason's bullets and Oliver's arrows kept coming.

Pew! Pew!

The bullets hit their marks, spraying blood from the Talons.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Arrows flew through the air, each one hitting a Talon in the head.

The remaining Talons, seeing the tide turning, moved away from the freezing zone, charging toward Dick and Tim like wolves.

"You're trying to use me as a breakthrough?" Dick asked, drawing his short staff and taking a stance to fight.

Tim tossed a liquid nitrogen bomb first. "Boom!" The bomb exploded instantly, creating a cold zone that slowed down the Talons' assault.

Dick's short staff followed, his movements as swift as the wind. He wielded the staff, hitting the joints of the Talons with every strike.

Crack!

The bones of the Talons shattered with a chilling sound, breaking under his blows.

He wasn't like Jason, who would kill without hesitation. Dick still held onto his final moral line.

Quote for the chapter:"The greatest strength is in knowing when to strike, and when to hold back."
