Harry Potter : A family??

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 – Wishes of the Damned

White.

Not the kind that blinds, but the kind that invites.

It stretched out endlessly, a gentle nothingness that pulsed like the breath of a slumbering god. There was no cold, no warmth, no pain. Only stillness.

Maximus Moriarty sat cross-legged in the void, arms resting on his knees like he was waiting for a late mission briefing. Beside him, Evelyn Hayes floated in the air, reclining like it was a hotel hammock.

The last thing either of them remembered was the wind screaming past their ears as they fell from the peak of Everest — together. No regrets. No second thoughts.

Now… this.

A footstep echoed.

One.

Then another.

The void rippled gently as an old man — white beard, eyes that shimmered like twin galaxies. He had the posture of a scholar and the smile of a war-weary general. emerged from the light, dressed not in robes or armor, but something far stranger — simplicity.

He looked neither frail nor almighty. His presence wasn't loud, but absolute. Like gravity. Like time.

He smiled.

"I've seen a lot of death," the old man said, voice smooth like ancient wind. "But rarely does it come with such… choreography."

"Welcome, Maximus Moriarty. Evelyn Hayes," he said warmly. "My name isn't important. Call me what you like — but for ease, let's go with God."

Maximus raised an eyebrow. "So. You're God?"

"I am," the man nodded.

Evelyn sat up midair, blinking. "We're… dead?"

"Yes and no. You died, yes. But I'm offering something else."

Maximus grunted. "You gonna tell us we were good people, and now we get heaven and harps?"

The old man chuckled. "Hardly. You two weren't good. But you were loyal. Brave. Willing to carry the weight of the world when no one else could. And you saved it more times than it will ever know."

He turned to them fully.

"I am offering you a choice. Rebirth. In a new world."

Evelyn narrowed her eyes. "Wait, wait — are we talking reincarnation? Like… start over? New diapers, teething, puberty?"

Maximus groaned. "I swear if I wake up wearing a diaper and drooling, I'm biting through my own rattle."

The old man laughed.

"No. You will not be reborn as infants. I will insert you into existing lives in the chosen world — flesh-and-soul merges. You will become those people. You will retain your memories and take over their identities seamlessly. No one will know."

Maximus blinked.

"…Okay," he said slowly. "That sounds significantly less humiliating."

Evelyn crossed her legs. "Sounds... suspiciously generous."

God tilted his head. "You earned it."

Maximus leaned forward. "So how does this work?"

The old man waved a hand.

The void twisted. A glowing roulette wheel, the size of a skyscraper, shimmered into existence above them — ancient, celestial, engraved with runes that pulsed in every language ever spoken.

The outer ring spun slowly, its segments labeled in shimmering gold:

Middle-Earth. Westeros. Marvel. Naruto. Narnia. Harry Potter. Star Wars. Cyberpunk. DC. The Witcher.

The inner rings shifted faster:

"Royalty." "Orphan." "Assassin." "Noble." "Commoner."

"Weak." "Average." "Genius." "Broken." "OP."

God smiled as they stared up.

"This is the Roulette of Rebirth. It decides your next world… your origin… and your strength. Once spun, it cannot be undone."

Maximus cracked his knuckles. "Well then. Let's spin the bloody thing."

Evelyn grinned beside him. "I'm in."

God raised a single finger.

The wheel began to spin.

Faster.

Faster.

Colors blurred, names merged, titles twisted into divine soup. Light pulsed. Symbols burned bright.

Then—

Clack. Clack. Clack.

The wheel slowed.

Evelyn held her breath.

Maximus crossed his arms.

Ding.

It stopped.

And then the words revealed themselves:

World: Harry Potter (Movie Universe)

Maximus Moriarty – Background:

Lord of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Moriarty.Dragon Slayers of Babylon. Masters of Wand and Blade.Lineage traced back to pre-Roman Mesopotamia, settled in England since 500 A.D.

Strength: God-tier. Tactical Genius. Master Duelist. Arcane Monster.

Maximus read the text aloud. Then stared.

"That… is elaborate."

God grinned. "I like flair."

Evelyn Hayes – Background:

Extraordinary witch from America.Graduate of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.Specialist in ancient magics and potion-making.Ranked Master-Level Potionist by MACUSA.Married to Maximus Moriarty in 1983, prior to the beginning of the main canon.

Strength: God-tier. Tactical Genius. Master Duelist. Arcane Monster.

Evelyn arched a brow. "Potions?"

God nodded. "You were always methodical. You'll still be a fighter, but you'll find that ingredients and magic aren't so different from chemicals and C4."

She smirked. "I like it."

The void fell silent.

God turned to Maximus. "You, Maximus Moriarty, shall become the head of a house long thought dormant. The House of Moriarty. Founded in the fires of Babylon, famed for slaying dragons, breakers of dark gods. They migrated to Britain long ago and have ruled in silence ever since."

Maximus blinked. "…Wait. Moriarty? That's… that's me."

God nodded. "Indeed. You will carry your name into that world. But here's the twist…"

He raised a finger.

"Your father — the previous Lord Moriarty — had a secret. Long ago, he fathered a child with a Muggle woman. A shame he never confessed. That woman gave birth to Lily Evans… and Petunia Dursley (nee Evans)."

Maximus stared. Evelyn's lips parted in shock.

God smiled gently.

"That makes you, Maximus… the half-brother of Lily Potter. And the blood uncle of Harry James Potter."

Silence.

Then Maximus muttered, "…You've got to be kidding me."

"I never kid," God said. "You won't know this right away. I've arranged for you to discover the truth through a Gringotts will-reading in 1990. You'll have the choice to become Harry's guardian. But the pull will be undeniable."

Evelyn turned to him slowly. Then she started jumping like a little girl.

"You're going to be a dad, babe. We are going to be parents."

"…Bloody hell," Maximus muttered.

God turned to Evelyn now.

"For you, Evelyn Hayes — you shall become a prodigious witch. A Potions Mistress of the highest caliber, trained in the American magical school Ilvermorny, and a war hero of the Salem Accord conflicts."

Her brows raised. "Salem Accord?"

"A war that never made the newspapers. You'll remember it. Just like you'll remember everything your counterpart knew."

"Will I still be me?" she asked.

God nodded. "You will be Evelyn Hayes. The woman, the warrior, the witch. Your name, your face, your heart."

She glanced at Maximus, then smirked. "Still married?"

God smiled. "Of course. You'll be known in Britain as Evelyn Hayes-Moriarty. And believe me, the wizarding world has never seen a pair like you."

Maximus looked up again. "How powerful are we talking?"

"Your magical strength will match your mortal strength," God said. "And more. Maximus, your tactical mind, combined with the magical talent of the Moriarty line, will make you the most dangerous wizard since Merlin himself."

Maximus tilted his head. "I'm listening."

Evelyn laughed. "Oh, he's definitely listening."

God raised both hands.

"One last thing," he said. "Because you are not born into this world but merged with its people, you will not be limited by their morals or politics. You are anomalies. Wild cards."

"You will begin in 1990. The war with Voldemort is over. Harry is ten years old, living with the Dursleys. The world is… recovering. But darkness lingers."

Maximus folded his arms. "And what do we do?"

God's eyes glimmered.

"What you've always done."

He stepped forward, voice now layered with echoes.

"Protect the innocent. Destroy evil. And maybe… just maybe… give that boy the one thing he never had."

"A family."

The light rose.

The void trembled.

Evelyn grabbed Maximus's hand as their bodies began to dissolve into golden light.

"Hey," she said, grinning.

"What?"

"Let's try not to blow anything up for at least the first day."

Maximus grinned back. "No promises."

To be continued....
