The Weight of a Prophecy

The words echoed in Harry's mind like a curse carved into stone:

"One shall fall so the other may ascend."

Harry stood in the silent chamber beneath the Department of Mysteries, staring at the cracked prophecy orb. His heart was racing, his mind tangled in possibilities.

Who was meant to fall?

Who was meant to ascend?

Draco's voice broke the silence. "Potter… are you going to stand there all day, or are we getting out of here?"

Harry blinked, his grip tightening around the Staff of the First Archmage. He nodded slowly, forcing the tension from his chest.

"Yeah. Let's move."

But as they turned to leave, Harry's Gamer System flashed violently with a blood-red alert.

DANGER DETECTED!

• Multiple hostile presences approaching.

• Threat Level: HIGH

• Status: Ambush Imminent

Harry's instincts kicked in.

"Draco—move!"

A split second later, the walls of the chamber exploded inward.

The Ambush

Shadows poured into the room like liquid smoke, resolving into figures clad in obsidian robes and silver masks. Their magic crackled in the air, thick with ancient power.

The Lords of Magic's Enforcers.

At their center stood a figure different from the others—taller, cloaked in dark violet, with a mask carved from pure black stone. Their aura was suffocating, like a black hole where light went to die.

The leader.

The figure spoke, their voice distorted and layered with magic.

"The Heir of the Archmages dares to trespass on sacred ground."

Harry raised the staff, his magic pulsing in response.

"You erased history. You buried the truth. But I'm here to dig it up."

The leader tilted their head slightly. "Then you will be buried with it."

The battle began.

The Battle for the Truth

Harry didn't wait. He channeled his magic through the staff and shouted:

"VOID PULSE!"

A surge of dark violet energy exploded outward, tearing through the first wave of enforcers.

But they were fast—too fast.

The leader of the enforcers raised a hand, absorbing the attack like it was nothing.

Harry gritted his teeth. They're stronger than I thought.

Draco moved beside him, casting precise hexes and curses, his face twisted in concentration. Despite their differences, they fought as a unit—covering each other's weaknesses, anticipating each other's moves.

But it wasn't enough.

The enforcers kept coming.

Harry's Gamer System flashed again.

BOSS ENCOUNTER INITIATED: [The Hand of the Lords]

• Threat Level: EXTREME

• Objective: Survive

• Secondary Objective: Protect the Prophecy

The Hand of the Lords raised both arms, and the ground beneath Harry and Draco shattered, sending them sprawling.

Pain shot through Harry's body, but he forced himself to his feet.

If I fall here, it's over.

He glanced at Draco, who was bleeding from a cut across his forehead but still standing.

"Got any brilliant ideas?" Draco panted.

"Yeah," Harry growled. "Don't die."

The Betrayal

They fought with everything they had—spell after spell, curse after curse—but the enforcers' power was overwhelming.

And then, when it seemed they might hold their ground, it happened.

Harry turned to signal Draco—

And saw Draco's wand pointed at his chest.

Harry froze.

"Draco…?"

Draco's expression was cold.

"I never planned to help you, Potter." His voice was flat, emotionless. "I was sent to make sure you'd lead me to the prophecy."

The betrayal hit harder than any curse.

Harry's mind raced, connecting the dots.

The Watchers. The sudden interest from Draco. The way he always seemed to know the next step.

"You're working for them," Harry whispered.

Draco didn't deny it.

The Hand of the Lords stepped forward, their mask gleaming.

"Thank you, Draco Malfoy. Your service will not be forgotten."

Harry's hands trembled with rage and heartbreak.

But there was no time for grief.

The Hand of the Lords raised a palm, aiming directly at Harry.

A blast of pure energy shot toward him—

But Draco hesitated.

At the last second, Draco's wand flicked to the side, deflecting the deadly curse away from Harry.

The Hand turned sharply. "What are you doing?"

Draco's face twisted with conflict.

"I didn't sign up for this." His voice wavered, the cold mask slipping. "I just wanted to survive. But… this isn't survival. This is slaughter."

The Hand's fury was immediate.

"Then you die with him."

The Turning Point

The Hand of the Lords unleashed a barrage of dark magic.

Harry didn't think. He acted.

He threw himself in front of Draco, raising the Staff of the First Archmage.

"ARCANE BARRIER!"

The shield absorbed the blast, but the force sent Harry sprawling, his vision swimming.

Pain exploded through his chest.

I can't hold out much longer…

But then—

Draco was beside him, his hand gripping Harry's arm.

"Get up, Potter," he muttered. "We're not done yet."

Harry's Gamer System flashed.

NEW SKILL UNLOCKED: [Bond of the Fallen] (Lv. 1)

• Effect: When fighting alongside an ally who has betrayed you but seeks redemption, both magical and physical abilities are boosted by 25%.

Harry's strength surged.

Together, they stood—two enemies turned reluctant allies, facing a power that wanted them both dead.

And this time, they were ready.

The Final Stand

Harry channeled every ounce of magic into the staff.

Draco's spells wove around his, combining in a brilliant storm of light and darkness.

They fought with fury, not just to survive but to defy fate itself.

And when the dust finally settled—

The Hand of the Lords lay defeated.

Not dead. But gone.

For now.

The Aftermath

Silence filled the chamber.

Harry and Draco sat amidst the rubble, breathing heavily.

Draco finally spoke.

"I'm not sorry," he muttered. "But I didn't want you dead."

Harry didn't respond right away.

Then, quietly: "We're all broken somehow."

Draco glanced at him, then gave a faint, bitter smile.

"Yeah. Guess we are."
