Harry Potter and the Letter from the Future

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Daphne greengrass

"How come you have that food? Is that another one of your secrets?"

"Are you still upset about that? I mean, look at Ron. He's happy."

"Huh?"

Hermione ignored Ron's glare and snorted.

"Ron will always be happy as long as he has food."

"A lot of people are happy eating, Hermione. You don't have to say it like it's a bad thing."

"I never meant to. But I want to know how you come to have skewers of meat and vegetables."

"Benefits of being popular with the house elves. For a small fee, they agreed to a few things I asked for."

"I thought they didn't get paid."

"It's different when it's magic."

Hermione was about to say something, but her eyebrows furrowed slightly when she saw someone approach Harry.

"Potter."

Harry turned his head and found Daphne Greengrass.

"Greengrass," Harry nodded in greeting. "What do you need?"

"You should know by now. And it's best to talk about it in private."

Harry nodded before wiping his mouth carefully. But he didn't put down his food, taking the last skewer before standing up.

"Sorry, I have something to do."

"Another secret?"

"Hermione, I have a lot of patience lately, but I'm running out. We're best friends, but that doesn't mean I have to tell you my whole life. You've asked for secrets in so many different ways and so many times, I want to shoot myself in the balls."

Daphne's eyes widened more than normal before her expression returned to normal. She had been surprised by the raw expression in Harry Potter's speech. And Hermione was even more surprised.

"I think you're exaggerating, mate."

"No... I think it just shows how irritated I am about the subject," Harry rolled his eyes before looking at Daphne, who nodded and began walking out of the great hall.

"I didn't think you could be so... rude, when it came to speaking."

"And I didn't think Draco would argue things out so quickly."

"Not here," Daphne hissed and sent him a cold glare.

Harry simply shrugged as he followed the Slytherin. After walking down a few hallways, they entered an empty classroom. Daphne was feeling a bit irritated, though. The boy who knew something important about her family and claimed to be able to help them was chewing on his skewered meat and vegetables. He made almost no noise and his mouth movements were slow. But still, the mere fact that he was eating in such a situation irritated her more than she could have imagined.

"So..."

"You can really heal her?" Daphne narrowed her eyes and spoke coldly, cutting off anything Harry had planned to say.

 "I can do it."

"How? We've searched and tried everything we can, even though we know that a blood curse is almost impossible to remove. But we keep trying, we keep giving it our best. I don't want to give my sister false hope. My parents don't want it either."

"But when Draco Malfoy, of all people, approached our father with an unimaginable and reasonably priced alternative, we didn't know how to really react. Who would believe it? Who would think that Harry Potter can remove blood curses?"

Harry looked at her as he pulled another piece of meat off the skewer and chewed slowly. Daphne pressed her lips together, waiting. The classroom was so quiet that she could hear him swallow.

"I think you're misunderstanding something. Well, I think Draco did it in the first place."

"What?" Daphne narrowed her eyes once more.

"I can't remove any blood curse. I can remove your sister's blood curse."

"And that brings me back to my question once again. How could you do that?"

"Do you know the tales of Beedle the Bard?"

"Of course, it's a book that many children have read, including me."

"Your sister was cursed with a rather special wand."

"Are you saying that... the Elder Wand... is real?" Daphne asked slowly, showing her disbelief.

"Of course. You just have to look at Dumbledore. He's already old, but he can still fight very well thanks to that wand."

"Dumbledore has the Elder Wand?!"

"Mm," Harry nodded. He doesn't care about this information, they couldn't use the relics anyway. Well, at least not their true powers. Different things were needed to use each one. For example, someone else could use his cloak, but only he, as Potter, could use its true capabilities. And the wand, in this case, needed a wizard with a certain amount of magic and also to take possession of it, and it wasn't exactly winning it over from the wizard who used it exactly, but something more like what happened with his cloak, when he discovered its ability by saying the words Abscondere Morte.

If those two things weren't there, the wand could only slightly increase the power of the spells cast.

Also, he was planning to destroy that wand once he got it. Although now, he would first heal Astoria before destroying it. As for the other two relics, well, no one else knew that it was really his cloak, and now only he knew about the stone.

"Even if that's true, I don't understand what the wand has to do with it. Can you heal my sister because of the power it would grant you?"

"Something like that," Harry nodded.

"It's actually because the person who cursed Astoria used the wand. And part of that thing's power is to show you the spells that have been cast. If it weren't for the memories of the future, I wouldn't have any idea that that damn thing is like a hard drive."

Of course, Harry didn't say that out loud.

"You know I could ask Dumbledore for help now, right?"

"You can't."

"Oh?" Daphne crossed her arms as she crossed her arms, but her mouth dropped a little when Harry showed her a wand.

"I already have the wand. I'm the only one who can help you."

She had already seen Dumbledore's wand, and it was the one Harry had in his hand.

"The headmaster barely objected to giving me the wand. I had to use an expelliarmus though. Thanks, old Albus."

"Prove it."

"What?"

"Prove that that's the Elder Wand. That you can heal my sister with it."

"You know I won't put a blood curse on you, right? Plus it can't be removed with a healing spell either."

"What I'll do is cast a spell that removes the curse, and that has no visible attack power."

Daphne frowned immediately.

Harry sighed as he saw Daphne's face.

"If you don't want to believe me, fine. But you don't have the final say. The final say is your father's, or Astoria's for that matter."

"Harry!"

Both Slytherin and Gryffindor frowned as the door opened. Hermione had entered alongside Ron.

"Hermione? Were you spying?"

"No!" Hermione said forcefully before throwing a newspaper. Harry caught it, but looked at Hermione in confusion.

"I think you saw that I read the paper, Hermione."

"Just look at that, Harry! She only got here about five minutes ago!"

"She's telling the truth, mate. We were still eating when the owls appeared. We had to use the map to find you."

Harry frowned and unrolled the paper. When he read the title, his eyebrows raised. And Daphne, who was curious, walked over to Harry and saw the paper over his shoulder.

"So she finally moved," Harry muttered and smiled coldly as his magic left his body and affected the room.

The Dark Lord Returns!

DMLE conducts surprise raid on Malfoy Manor!: Lucius Malfoy captured.

Minister Fudge hides the truth about the Dark Lord!

"That's... impossible. He was supposed to be dead...", Daphne muttered as she paled.
