Chapter 209: Quest For Training
The last bell of the day echoed through the castle walls, and students poured out of their classrooms, laughter and chatter bouncing through the stone corridors. Cael, however, didn't join the others in their rush to the common rooms or the Great Hall. Today was different. Today, he turned fourteen.
He walked calmly through the winding corridors of Hogwarts, hands tucked in his robe pockets, his thoughts elsewhere. This day wasn't just a birthday—it was a quiet reminder of how far he had come.
Three years ago, I was just a Muggle, he thought. And now… I'm walking through the heart of the wizarding world, casting spells most adults don't even know exist.
As he reached a quiet stairwell, a familiar chime echoed in his mind.
Ding!
A soft blue glow shimmered before his eyes, visible only to him.

Cael chuckled under his breath. "Thanks, System. Seems like you're the only one who remembered."
He didn't sound disappointed—just amused. With a spark of determination in his eyes, he muttered to himself, "Well, I planned to learn the spell anyway. But with a reward like that? All the better."
He turned toward the seventh floor, weaving through the quieter parts of the castle, until he stood in front of a blank stretch of wall across from a tapestry of dancing trolls.
Pacing back and forth three times, he focused his mind: I need a place to train in secrecy. A chamber where time is slow and silence is absolute. I need to master Veyarum.
The stones shimmered and reshaped themselves into a door. The Room of Requirement had answered.
Cael stepped inside.
He stepped forward, the as he started to read the spell's description as he recorded it when he learned it in the scroll
His eyes scanned the details.
Wand Movement: A precise triangle drawn in the air, point downward.
Incantation: Veyarum.
Intent: Complete erasure—not hiding from sight, but from magic itself.
Cael took a deep breath and withdrew his wand. He stepped into the rune-etched circle and steadied himself.
"Alright," he whispered. "Let's begin."
⸻
His first attempt was clumsy.
He moved the wand in the triangular motion, but the angles wavered, and the tip of the wand shimmered erratically. He spoke the incantation.
"Veyarum!"
Nothing. A soft spark, then silence.
He frowned, resetting his posture. "Focus… shape, intent, incantation—together."
He tried again, this time visualizing the very idea of absence. Of becoming nothing. No trace of magic. No scent, no aura, no presence. Just void.
He swept his wand in a clean downward triangle and spoke firmly:
"Veyarum."
This time, the air around him wavered, like heat rising off stone. The torches dimmed. For a second, he felt—detached. As though he were no longer in the room, but part of it.
Then it snapped away. The spell failed.
Panting slightly, Cael dropped to one knee. A pulse of energy had drained from him—not dangerously, but enough to remind him that this was no ordinary spell.
"Again," he muttered, standing once more.
Over the next hour, he repeated the process, failing, refining, adjusting. Sweat formed at his brow. The wand became an extension of his will, his voice steadying with each incantation.
Finally—on the twelfth attempt—he cast the spell.
"Veyarum."
This time, he managed to cast it successfully—though it wasn't perfect or at a masterful level yet, it was still a significant achievement. He was confident he would master it before the end of the school year.
