Harry Potter : Cael Vale’s journey to Hogwarts

Chapter 247: Back To Home

The morning sun had just begun to rise over the quiet streets of Paris when Cael shouldered his travel bag and stepped out into the city. With practiced ease, he made his way to the airport—the same terminal he had arrived at days ago. After passing through the security checkpoints with his pre-purchased ticket, he boarded the flight bound for Manchester.

A few uneventful hours later, the plane touched down on English soil. The familiar gray skies greeted him as he stepped out of the terminal and moved toward a nondescript phone booth tucked away between two stone pillars.

He glanced around. No one watching.

Cael stepped inside and dialed a seemingly random combination of numbers.

A soft chime answered, followed by a mechanical voice:

"Welcome to the Knight Route. Destination?"

He leaned toward the receiver.

"the village of Ottery St Catchpole in Devon, Home."

There was a pause. Then, with a bang and a loud screech, a towering triple-decker purple bus pulled up to the curb, shimmering faintly in the air like a mirage. The Knight Bus—or more specifically, the long-distance magical route extension—had been reserved ahead of time, and its enchanted route meant it could cross vast distances in record time.

Cael climbed aboard, tossed his bag onto the nearest seat, and nodded to the conductor.

"Ready when you are."

"Strap in," the conductor muttered.

With a lurch that defied gravity, the magical bus vanished from the Muggle road and shot across the countryside in a blur of magical acceleration. Trees blurred, hills rolled by, and the world bent around the bus's impossible speed.

Fifteen minutes later, the Knight Bus came to a screeching halt outside Cael's home , hidden deep within the English countryside and masked from Muggle view by generations of powerful Runes .

"Thanks," Cael muttered, stepping off as the door slammed shut behind him. The bus vanished with a loud crack, leaving nothing behind but the sound of rustling leaves.

He approached the front door, muttered the unlocking Runes, and stepped inside.

The house was cold, dim, and quiet. Cael's first instinct was to scan for any disturbances. Nothing had been touched. The magical security runes embedded in the walls still glowed faintly blue—a sign that no one had entered while he was away.

Still, dust clung to surfaces like time had paused in his absence.

He sighed and rolled up his sleeves. With a few practiced wand movements, he summoned small gusts of wind to lift the dust, then used cleaning charms to sweep through the corners of the old house. Slowly, the silence began to feel less hollow.

Just as he lowered himself into the worn leather armchair in the study, a soft, melodic chime echoed through the room.

Ding.

Cael's eyes lit up.

"Well, look at that," he said with a grin. "Finally, a new reward."

He stretched lazily, a sense of quiet satisfaction settling over him. Then, with a flick of his wand, he summoned that morning's Daily Prophet. As a subscriber, every new issue was automatically delivered to his home. The newspaper fluttered through the open window and landed on the desk in front of him.

He sifted through the headlines. Much of it was the usual rot: Ministry squabbles, growing unrest in magical society, pure-blood extremists stirring up trouble. The Dumbledore faction was still fighting an uphill battle, struggling to hold ground for Muggle-born rights.

Then, one article caught his eye.

Weasleys Win Grand Prize – Family Vacation to Egypt!

The article was printed with enthusiasm and color: Arthur and Molly Weasley beaming alongside their children—Bill, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, Ginny—and, in Ron's hands, his old rat, Scabbers.

Cael leaned in. His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Peter Pettigrew," he murmured.

That rat was no rat. It was a man. A traitor.

But even that discovery wasn't what stirred Cael's mind the most.

It was what the article implied. The timeline was aligning.

Sirius Black would escape any day now.

He leaned back in his chair, pressing his fingers together.

The question had tormented him for years: why had James Potter, the so-called best friend of Sirius Black, let him rot in Azkaban without a trial? Had he truly believed him guilty, or was the truth buried beneath layers of war, betrayal, and manipulation?

"I hope you're innocent, Sirius," Cael said softly to the ceiling. "But whether you are or not… I need you alive."

His expression hardened.

He had made a deal—a magically binding contract—with the portrait of Walburga Black, the twisted matriarch of the Black family. And that deal centered around Sirius. If the man died before Cael could reach him, it would be more than just a disappointment.

It would be catastrophic.

"If you don't escape soon, Uncle," he whispered, "I'll have to come get you myself."

Then he said " system show me my status "
