Harry Potter: The Boy Loved by Beasts

Chapter 7: she doesn't look reliable!

Chapter seven: she doesn't look reliable!

Vira: "Not gonna lie, but I seriously didn't understand what she said there...Well I do now, but man, how much I regret waiting for her to come save me."

Author: "Can't blame you. I can't understand what the Brits say in movies either. Like, seriously, if not for the subtitles, I wouldn't even bother watching them at all."

Vira: "I don't think that the same thing. But sure suit yourself.

Author: "Doesnt matter lets start"

After asking the snake to crawl inside his clothes, Vira cast a quick glance at the woman he now considered his mother. She seemed disoriented, her gaze darting around in confusion as she rubbed her eyes.

Moments later, she stood up abruptly, rubbing her neck and producing small, coarse sounds. From her gestures, Vira guessed she was thirsty. His assumption was confirmed when her eyes landed on the water jug sitting on the table across the room.

As she made her way toward the jug, Vira quickly tried to cry out to get her attention. But his throat, still unwell, betrayed him. All he could manage were hoarse, strained "aaah" sounds.

Despite the faintness of his voice, it seemed to work. The woman paused, her gaze shifting toward him. Thrilled by her response, he kept his mouth open and continued making soft, rasping noises, hoping some maternal instinct might prompt her to realize he was hungry—or at least to check his uncomfortable, soggy diaper.

To his disappointment, she simply furrowed her brow and muttered something under her breath, her expression tinged with irritation, before turning back to the water jug.

Fortunately, after some time, she returned, holding what appeared to be a bottle filled with milk. Without much tenderness, she pressed the bottle against his open mouth, leaving him with little choice.

While he hoped for a bit gently feeding from her and well changing diapers but no matter what he had got milk to drink so he muttered what little strangth and used his left hand to push the bottle and bit the nipple and started sucking the milk inside it

The milk, though freezing, sent a chill through his insides as he drank. Despite the cold, it was nourishment he desperately craved, and so he drank as much as he could until he felt full.

Once satisfied, he let the bottle drop from his tiny hands, his attention shifting to the icy sensation spreading across his skin beneath the small clothes he wore. He quickly remembered the snake—its cool scales pressed against his body, hiding as he had asked.

Glancing at the woman, who was now lying on her side with her eyes closed, seemingly asleep again, Vira softly urged the snake to come out.

The combined cold from the milk and the serpent's body was becoming unbearable.

The snake obeyed, slithering out and coiling itself once more, this time on his chest.

As Vira's gaze fell on the remaining third of the milk in the bottle He looked at the snake, then gestured toward the bottle.

The serpent understood. Without hesitation, it approached the bottle, its movements swift , and within moments, it drained the remaining milk from it.

Feeling full and with his hunger finally satisfied, Vira couldn't resist the wave of exhaustion washing over him. His tiny body, overwhelmed by the such uncanny events , succumbed to the intense desire to sleep.

Without hesitation, he closed his eyes, drifting off into slumber, completely indifferent to the lingering discomfort of his soggy diaper.

Seeing Vira's tiny chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm, the snake seemed to mirror his tranquility. It lowered its head, closing its unblinking, spectral eyes. Carefully, it nestled its head near Vira's neck, coiling more snugly around his small frame as if to protect him. With its movements slow and deliberate, the serpent too surrendered to rest, sharing in the quiet peace of the moment.

As the moonlight retreated, giving way to the sun's harsh brilliance, the cold stubbornly clung to the town, its grip unyielding even under the daylight. Vira, Caroline, and the snake—soon to bear the name Viper—remained deep in slumber, undisturbed by the changing skies.

However, the serenity shattered with the sudden, piercing scream of a nurse who had come to check on Vira. Her eyes widened in horror as they locked onto the vibrant red snake draped across the infant, its haunting gaze seemingly fixated on his neck.

Startled awake, Vira's body tensed, but he acted swiftly despite the weakness in his limbs. Summoning every ounce of strength, he turned his tiny body slightly and focused his thoughts. Confused by his sudden movement, the snake tilted its head as if to ask what was wrong. Through their silent connection, Vira urgently conveyed his command: hide under the pillow.

Viper didn't hesitated even for a second . In a smooth, lightning-quick motion, it slithered away, disappearing beneath the pillow just as the nurse's trembling hands reached toward the crib.

Vira then turned his pale blue eyes toward the nurse, his gaze half-lidded and sleepy. He tilted his head slightly, mimicking the innocence of a baby just waking up. His hope rested in her dismissing the sight as a trick of her eyes—or perhaps a remnant of a dream.

But his hope remained only a hope, unable to come true as he saw the nurses movements.

The nurse, her mind still grappling with what she had seen, handled Vira with mechanical precision, carefully lifting him from the crib and placing him on another bed farther away. The disgust on her face, though faint, was unmistakable as she adjusted his position, clearly not pleased by the lingering scent of his soiled diaper.

Once she had settled him onto the new bed, she moved to the pillow, determined to see what had been hiding beneath it. With a swift motion, she flipped it over, unintentionally disturbing Caroline in her deep slumber. The sudden shift caused Caroline to stir, her body twitching as if still caught in the remnants of a dream, a light groan escaping her lips.

For a brief moment, the nurse's focus shifted to Caroline, her attention drawn by the woman's restless movements. That split second was all the snake needed. With lightning speed, Viper slithered from beneath the pillow, reappearing beside Vira in the blink of an eye, its familiar presence a quiet comfort to the child.

Vira's eyes locked onto the serpent as it coiled protectively near him once again. His heart, still racing from the sudden shift, settled slightly at the sight of his companion. The familiar warmth of Viper's presence helped ease his nerves, but the growing tension in the room didn't completely dissipate.

Despite the comfort of the serpent, Vira couldn't ignore the nurse's persistent searching. She had yet to give up on her search for the snake, and every moment spent under her scrutiny made him more anxious. He knew that a snake like Viper, with its vibrant, multicolored scales, would soon reveal itself as something dangerous. Even if it wasn't venomous, the mere sight of a snake in a hospital, especially with an infant, would stir panic and suspicion.

Vira couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency and fear. He feared that the snake would be killed, or worse, scared away from him.

He didn't want to lose the only creature that had shown him kindness and brought him some peace in this new environment.

But his worry didn't last long. Caroline, whose sleep and dreams of a happy life with her fiancé and family had been interrupted twice in the same night, was as irritable as she could get.

In her anger, ignoring her surroundings or reason, she targeted the culprit who disturbed her dreams and began hurling insults at her.

Angry at her words, the nurse fought back.

As for Vira, he was relieved. Although he couldn't understand the words, he knew they were fighting, and the nurse's attention was distracted from Viper.
