Chapter 44: Mephisto's Office

Dumbledore said that at this moment, he really wanted to lift the brat by the neck and ask him about it.

"Do I look like a fool?" he thought.

But then, upon reflection, he decided to forget it. Just trading some contraband. Compared to the evil wizards in Knockturn Alley, Kyle's behavior seemed to be nothing. In the words of the East, this can be regarded as a way to get out of the mud without being stained.

"Okay, kid, let's go to your house first. To be honest, I'm quite curious," Dumbledore said, dismissing the matter with a smile.

From the beginning to the end, he felt that Kyle was kind. How else would he draw Gryffindor's sword? That's why he indulged Kyle so much.

"Oh, it's coming soon! Look, that's my home!" Kyle exclaimed. "I opened an office in Knockturn Alley, specializing in solving troubles for some people in need!" He pointed to a store in the distance.

This could be considered the prime location in Knockturn Alley, and the diagonally opposite corner not far away housed "Bojinbok Antique Store." A sign hung crookedly outside the shop, reading "The Office of Mephisto." There were also instructions under the store name, specifically introducing the business undertaken by the firm and the prices:

"Killing people, one hundred gold plus bulging, depends on the identity of the other party!"

"Set fire, eighty gold plus bulging!"

"Kidnapping, two hundred gold plus bulging!"

"Robbery, three hundred Galleons plus 30% of the items looted!"

Dumbledore looked at the content on the sign and instantly felt his head spin. "Is this what you mean by solving troubles for people in need? Oops! This feeling of blood pressure soaring," he thought.

Cassandra was also dumbfounded. They were all young wizards of about the same age. "But why do you... Why is your life so fresh and refined?" she wondered.

"Uh, professor, wait a minute, I think there may be some misunderstanding here!" Seeing this, Kyle hurried forward and took out a pen from his bag. He put a "no" in front of all business listings. Then he looked and thought, "All right! The misunderstanding may be deeper now."

In the end, he simply put the signboard into his satchel that had been cast with the "No Trace Stretch Curse."

"Pretend nothing happened," Kyle thought. "Come in, Professor!" he said, trying to appear nonchalant as he pushed open the door and invited the two of them in.

"Welcome to Mephisto's office!" As soon as he entered the door, Kyle heard a sharp voice. "Oh, master, you are finally back. Poor Link has been missing you for two whole days." A house-elf jumped up and kissed Kyle's shoe. He had bought the elf from a declining wizard family, and the elf was in charge of looking after the store and taking care of his little pets. Kyle even equipped him with a wand. After training, the elf's combat power was not inferior to the Aurors, and he proved to be a good player.

"Link, hurry up and get two cups of black tea. I want to entertain guests." "Obey, great master." While the house elf was preparing the black tea, Dumbledore looked around Kyle's office. Although the shop appeared old from the outside, the inside was very clean. The entire office space was not large, only forty or fifty square meters, with a bar and a set of sofa and coffee table, resembling the living room of a Muggle family. There were also a few flowers and plants on the windowsill.

"Oh, distinguished guest, the black tea is here." After a while, the house elf Link brought three cups of black tea and placed them before the three of them. "Okay, kid, it's getting late. Call your pet out and bring it with you," Dumbledore said after taking a sip of black tea. "We still have to rush back to school!"

"Well, Professor, but my pet is not here," Kyle replied. "We need to get to that place by means of the Portkey. I usually keep them in the wild so that they can feel the beauty of nature." "Okay then, let's go now." Dumbledore stood up. "Miss Cassandra, are you going with us too? Or will you wait here?"

"Of course I'm going to see it!" Cassandra was now feeling resentful. It didn't matter if her magical power was crushed by Kyle. Just now, she felt that her intelligence was also overshadowed. After finally meeting such a powerful peer, she wanted to compare everything with him, even pets. The two cats and raccoons raised in her family were rare and expensive magical animals, helping the owner predict danger in advance. She was eager to see what kind of pet Kyle had!

"Link, go and get the Portkey. I'm going to Libster!" "Yes, Master!"
