Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Pleasant Ancient Magic!
Febagini's enormous body was shrinking at an alarming speed!
At the same time, Robert clearly felt the strange magical power within him rapidly dissipating.
It was obvious that Levi's Transfiguration had caused Nagini to shrink—but it wasn't just ordinary Transfiguration.
To be precise, this was a transformation powered by ancient magic!
In an instant, all the ancient magic within him was unleashed through Transfiguration, producing an effect far stronger than any ordinary transformation spell.
Robert knew very well that if he had used only his own magical strength, he could never have caused such a drastic change in Nagini's size.
He had already witnessed Nagini's strong magic resistance during their first encounter in the sewers.
Now, after struggling fiercely against the binding vines, Nagini finally stopped moving.
Her once-massive serpent body had shrunk to just half a meter long and as thin as a pair of chopsticks.
Even the vines holding her down were now thicker than she was.
Levi stepped forward and stared at the miniature Nagini on the ground, stunned.
He had seen something similar in a game once, where the protagonist used ancient magic to shrink a giant spider and then crushed it underfoot.
At the time, he hadn't thought much of it.
But now… experiencing it firsthand… it was exhilarating!
Having used it himself, he finally grasped the true wonder of ancient magic.
Even though his limited ancient magic reserves only allowed him to use such a powerful ability once a day, it still gave him an overwhelming sense of satisfaction.
That feeling was pure pleasure.
Extreme pleasure.
Robert's hands trembled slightly.
This small taste of ancient magic was already intoxicating—what if he absorbed even more?
He didn't need to think too hard to understand the answer.
If he had accepted that mysterious man's offer earlier, he would have already turned into another obsessed lunatic.
Perhaps even worse than that man—because he wouldn't have a trusted friend who could craft him a protective freezing cloak.
In truth, this kind of power wasn't just a temptation for Robert.
It was a temptation for anyone.
Robert clenched his fists, took a deep breath, and immediately discarded any thoughts of going back to find that man.
Without the confidence to control his desires, he absolutely could not return to him.
Besides, who was to say that his current hunger for ancient magic wasn't a side effect of the magic itself?
Stay alert! Stay cautious!
Robert warned himself in his heart.
"Stupefy!"
Now that Nagini's body had been drastically reduced, her physical strength had also weakened to the extreme.
If Levi had wanted to, he could have crushed her beneath his foot right now.
Instead, he opted for a simple Stunning Spell, which was more than enough in her weakened state.
Nagini collapsed unconscious.
Levi transformed the vines around her into a makeshift cage and locked her inside.
As the caster, he could feel that the effects of the transformation would last for quite a long time.
His plan was simple—hand Nagini over to Dumbledore and let him decide what to do with her.
Dumbledore possessed great wisdom and power.
He would surely have a way to handle this situation.
Robert picked up the cage, then carefully tried to sense the magical fluctuations caused by Aurelius.
Surprisingly, the magic waves from the other side were much weaker than expected.
Perhaps Aurelius had excellent self-control and would recover before long.
Without hesitation, Robert Apparated back to the Pig's Head Inn.
Carrying the cage, he forced an anxious expression onto his face before knocking urgently on the door.
The Pig's Head Inn was still open at night, but it usually closed around midnight.
By now, Aberforth had just fallen asleep.
Hearing the loud knocking, he instinctively grabbed his wand.
Thinking it was some drunk troublemaker, he muttered irritably,
"Who the hell is knocking at this hour? Don't you know we're closed?"
Bang!
Aberforth swung open the tavern door.
But when he saw Robert standing outside, the words of annoyance died in his throat.
"Robert? Why are you out here? Shouldn't you be sleeping in your room?"
Robert's voice was urgent.
"There's no time to explain! Hurry! Aurelius is having an episode! He ran into the Forbidden Forest!"
"What?!"
Aberforth's tiredness vanished instantly.
He didn't even question why Robert was outside at this hour.
In a flash, he disappeared, reappearing moments later after confirming that Aurelius was missing from the attic.
Aberforth grabbed Robert's arm anxiously.
"Do you remember where he went?"
"Yes—over there!" Robert pointed toward the forest.
Truthfully, the Forbidden Forest looked the same in every direction.
But thankfully, Aurelius' immense Obscurus magic left strong magical traces that Robert could still sense.
What puzzled him was why Aberforth couldn't sense it too.
"Stay here!" Aberforth ordered firmly. "Do not step into the Forbidden Forest! Dumbledore will be here soon."
After his stern warning, Aberforth waved his wand toward Hogwarts.
A translucent white billy goat emerged from his wand and galloped toward the castle.
Then, Aberforth pulled out a broom, mounted it, and shot off into the night.
Robert's eyes gleamed as he watched the white goat disappear.
He had a strong hunch—this was the Patronus Charm.
So Aberforth's Patronus was a goat? That made sense.
The Order of the Phoenix would later use Patronuses to communicate with each other.
It was interesting to learn that this method already existed now.
Realizing that Dumbledore would be arriving soon, Robert quickly reviewed everything that had happened tonight.
He already knew what he wanted to say—and what he didn't want to say.
Bang!
The distinct sound of Apparition echoed, and Dumbledore appeared next to him.
"Aberforth said you saw Aurelius lose control and run into the Forbidden Forest?"
"Yes, Professor." Robert nodded.
Dumbledore's sharp gaze flickered with suspicion.
But he knew this wasn't the time for questioning.
"I will take you back to the tavern first. Stay there and wait for me."
His tone was firm.
"I must go find them. I'm worried that Aberforth won't be able to handle this alone."
