Chapter 180: Chapter 180 Cloud in Chains
"Haku, come over and get ready." Tatsuya glanced at Killer B, whose attitude conveyed that he would rather die than surrender. Without saying anything more, Tatsuya motioned for Haku, the pseudo-mother, to come closer.
He couldn't help but notice that Haku's casual clothes gave off more of a feminine vibe. Tatsuya briefly considered the possibility of pairing him with Naruto but quickly shook his head. No, no. Naruto and Sasuke were a perfect match. Why would he ruin that bond? Guilt washed over him.
"Minato, kill Killer B and prepare to perform the Jinchūriki transfer ceremony," Tatsuya ordered his tone firm.
Tatsuya intended to transfer the Eight-Tails from Killer B to Haku. Minato hesitated for a moment but eventually reached for a Flying Thunder God kunai from his ninja pouch and began walking toward Killer B.
"Sensei Cloud Shinobi needs you!" Karui shouted desperately. "Please, think of the village!"
Killer B's eyebrows twitched beneath his sunglasses. As Minato drew closer, he couldn't hold back and spoke up, his voice cool but with a bit of flair. "Yo, yo, you there! If I'm gonna follow your lead, you ain't gonna go all attack mode on my Cloud Shinobi, right?"
Tatsuya raised a hand, signaling Minato to pause. He spoke calmly, "Don't think of me as a murderer. You provoked this war. Cloud Shinobi has been attacking Konoha again and again. The difference is just I succeeded in bringing Kumo to its heels but you guys failed in conquering Konoha."
Killer B's eyebrows twitched again, but he remained silent.
"Training a perfect Jinchūriki is a complicated process. If you're cooperative, I'll save us both a lot of trouble. It'll be a win-win situation," Tatsuya continued. He took a deep breath. "That's enough for today. Tell me your decision."
After several minutes of silence, Killer B finally spoke, gesturing with flair. "Aight, aight, I got it. I'll do it, but you better keep your word, Baka Yalu~ Kloah Lu!"
"Good," Tatsuya said, giving him a nod.
"With this, the only remaining target in the Five Great Shinobi Villages is Iwagakure. Am I right Tatsuya-sama?" Shisui suddenly had a thought and couldn't help but ask.
When the idea was mentioned, everyone present suddenly realized the truth.
Among the Five Great Shinobi Villages, Tatsuya's influence had already spread across four of them. Although Tsunade had abdicated as Hokage Minato, who succeeded her as the Fifth Hokage, still dared not defy Tatsuya.
As for Terumi Mei, the Mizukage of the Hidden Mist, her relationship with Tatsuya was well-known throughout the Ninja World. And now, Hatake Sakumo had also taken on the role of the Fourth Raikage.
While Sand Shinobi might be unreliable and its leadership prone to foolish decisions, it still held the status of an official ally. Thus, Iwagakure remained the only village of the Five Great Shinobi that had not yet formed a specific alliance with Konoha.
"When did you get the idea that I want to unify the Ninja World?" Tatsuya rolled his eyes. "I have no interest in such trivial matters. If you want to unify the Ninja World, go ahead. I'll only do what interests me."
With that, Tatsuya turned and walked out of the Raikage's office. Tsunade had officially retired from her position as Hokage, and now, he was looking forward to a peaceful night's sleep.
Shisui watched Tatsuya leave, sighing inwardly. "If only things hadn't turned out this way for our family... Itachi."
...
...
In less than a month, several major events transpired:
Uchiha Itachi killed 200 elite Uchiha ninjas, including his father.
Hatake Tatsuya led a coalition of Konoha and Mist Shinobi forces to capture Cloud Shinobi Village. Sakumo Hatake assumed the position of Fourth Raikage.
Tsunade, the Fourth Hokage, retired, and Namikaze Minato took over as the Fifth Hokage.
Uchiha Shisui became the new head of the Uchiha clan.
...
...
One by one, major news continued to stir up a storm across the "Ninja World." With so many shocking developments, other nations had become somewhat desensitized to the constant barrage of information. However, Sand Shinobi, the apparent ally, remained silent on the matter. Konoha, Cloud Shinobi, and Mist Shinobi were now entangled in an alliance. A war between these three villages seemed unlikely shortly. And the man holding the threads of this alliance was none other than Hatake Tatsuya.
Would he seize this opportunity to control all three Shinobi villages? Would he start a war against the remaining two villages? No one knew. But one thing was certain: In the short term, Rasa and Onoki would not have it easy night's sleep.
....
As for Naruto, who had always been indifferent, he didn't care at all about the major news that was shaking the entire Ninja World. The only thing that excited him for a few days was the fact that his father had become Hokage. But that was it.
"Hehe, Dad as Hokage, huh? Kinda cool, I guess," Naruto muttered to himself, staring at the Hokage Monument with a grin. "But it's not like it changes anything for me."
Growing up under Kushina's strict upbringing, Naruto wasn't like his Tsukuyomi counterpart, Menma. He didn't feel the need to flaunt the fact that his father was Hokage around the village.
"Oi, Naruto!" Kiba called as he and Shikamaru walked past. "You gonna start bossing us around now that your old man's in charge?"
Naruto snorted. "Tch, as if! Dad being Hokage doesn't mean I get free ramen at Ichiraku, so what's the big deal?"
Shikamaru smirked lazily. "Troublesome, but that's probably the most Naruto-like thing you could say."
What truly caught Naruto's attention, however, was the strange behavior of his rival, Uchiha Sasuke. Although Sasuke always had a gloomy demeanor, his entire personality seemed to have changed recently.
One afternoon, as Naruto walked through the village, he spotted Sasuke leaning against a wall, staring at nothing in particular.
"Oi, Sasuke! What's with that face? You look even grumpier than usual!"
Sasuke barely reacted, his gaze still distant.
Naruto frowned. "Tch. Are you ignoring me now? Since when did you turn into Shino?"
Sasuke finally looked at him, his expression unreadable. "Naruto… what do you think of the Uchiha?"
Naruto blinked at the sudden question. "Huh? I dunno. You guys are strong. A bit stuck-up, though."
Sasuke's lips twitched, but he quickly looked away. "Figures."
Later, Naruto learned from the villagers that the disaster was caused by the Uchiha clan. And just as Shisui and Itachi had planned, after this incident, the village's criticism of the Uchiha clan had significantly lessened.
"Crazy, huh?" Choji muttered as he munched on a rice ball. "Everyone used to talk bad about the Uchiha, but now they all feel sorry for them."
Shikamaru sighed. "Yeah, feels weird. People don't change their minds that fast unless something big happens."
Naruto, arms folded, stared at the village from the rooftop. "Doesn't make sense to me. But whatever. If Sasuke's acting weird 'cause of it, I'll figure it out."
...
"Why not relocate to Cloud Shinobi Village?" Nawaki suggested, proposing that Uchiha Shisui take over as the head of the intelligence department.
"Why?" Shisui's expression shifted slightly.
Nawaki continued, "Since it's difficult to stay in Konoha, it might be better to start over elsewhere. Plus, my brother's recent attack on Cloud Shinobi caused them to lose nearly half of their combat strength. If the Uchiha join Cloud Shinobi, it would be like 'charcoal in the snow.' I'm sure Sakumo would welcome it."
After hearing Nawaki's suggestion, Shisui hesitated but was moved. "I'll discuss it with the clan members," he said, then quickly turned and headed towards the clan's land.
