He Clings to Me Every Night

Chapter 780 - 780: Why Is He Ignoring Her?

Chapter 780: Chapter 780: Why Is He Ignoring Her?

“Grandpa, that’s enough! You can stop laughing at my gluttony now.” Olivia Jenkins picked the shrimp one by one for Daniel Marshall and he didn’t even hesitate to treat himself.

The old man, still smiling warmly and kindly, responded, “We would never laugh at you. We know how hard you’ve been working.”

Olivia, a glint of laughter in her almond-shaped eyes, suddenly got up from her chair, picked a piece of fish for her grandpa and scooped up a serving of sweet and sour ribs for her father-in-law.

Michael Marshall said nothing but a rare soft smile appeared on his face.

He didn’t hold back from the sweet and sour ribs Olivia got him.

Shrimp that Daniel had peeled were also shared with Grandpa and Dad.

The atmosphere in the dining room was unusually joyous. It had been a long time since the Marshall Family experienced such peace and tranquility.

Bella Thompson, alone in her room, found the meal unappetizing.

Even so, Bella didn’t show any emotion. She pretended as if nothing happened and swallowed her meal.

She couldn’t wait to see how long they could show off like this. Soon, the people downstairs who were eating would end up crying without tears.

Bella Thompson believed in changing fortunes; that one day, they too would experience a streak of bad luck.

Grace Ziegler was due for her salary. She resisted buying luxury goods for a whole month and only paid the rent.

She had lunch at the company’s cafeteria and just had some porridge for dinner at home.

No matter how much she saved, Grace found herself without any extra money and just enough to cover her monthly loan repayment.

To get closer to Chief Daniel Marshall, Grace sent a WeChat message, proposing to repay him.

Soon, Grace finally received a reply from Chief Daniel Marshall.

“If you have extra money, give it to your mother first to soothe her emotions. Your mom must be anxious now that she can’t open the shop for businesses. Please care more about her and don’t worry her. You don’t need to rush to repay me, you can slow down.”

Grace was delighted but quickly composed her excitement and replied to Chief Daniel Marshall on WeChat.

“Thank you, Chief Marshall! However, I would feel embarrassed if I owed you for too long.”

“It’s okay, you should stabilize your own life first. I’m going to get busy, so I’ll stop here.”

Disappointment quickly appeared in Grace’s eyes.

Glaring at the screen, Grace pressed her lips together, her face gradually darkening.

What did she do wrong? Why did Chief Daniel Marshall ignore her?

Why was he acting as if she were a thief to be avoided?

No, she had to break this deadlock; she needed to think of a solution.

Abigail Anderson invited Olivia Jenkins and Valerie Howard to join her for her wedding dress fitting.

When Abigail emerged in a beautiful wedding gown, Olivia was momentarily stunned. Breaking from her daze, she summoned a sweet smile, “What a beautiful bride-to-be! This dress suits you so well!”

“Thanks, Olivia, but I feel it’s a bit too wide.”

Simon Jackson adjusted Abigail’s wedding dress, his sharp eyes glittering, “Miss Anderson, considering your situation, I gave you an extra two centimeters. You still have over twenty days until your wedding. By that day, the dress would fit you perfectly.”

Abigail playfully stuck her tongue out, letting out a charming laugh, “Mrs. Ingram has thought of everything, thank you!”

Simon Jackson grinned, nodding in response, “It’s President Bennett who’s thoughtful. He told me about your circumstances. So, I made sure to give you a slight allowance.”

Abigail’s face immediately radiated blissful happiness.

Simon Jackson shifted his sharp gaze to Olivia Jenkins, “Mrs. Marshal, your wedding dress…”
