Chapter 312: Animal Jail

Dog jail.

Animal jail?

Michael was in one of those right now.

He honestly didn't expect the animals to be this fearsome, and he wasn't exactly keen on killing them, so he merely gave in.

However, that chihuahua king in particular was pretty interesting.

A dog that was so strong, it could rule over other animals—it even had a few lions around it acting as protectors.

Definitely a strange sight, but not something Michael wasn't used to.

After all, weird shit happened every single day.

But I wonder when someone will come to visit me? Should I just break out? Michael thought with a hum.

He cooperated, but the king chihuahua said it would visit him personally for a conversation.

Welp... I guess I'll be staying here for a little while—hmm? Michael's gaze darted to the side.

To his surprise, there were a few oddly familiar presences heading the animal kingdom's way.

And no, they weren't humans, angels, or animals.

Instead, they were demons.

Did they track me? Michael pondered as he walked up to the prison gates and gently ripped them open.

"Freeze!" a guard dog yelled, pointing a spear toward Michael.

However, he merely ignored it and proceeded to walk forward until finally, he reached the gates out of this place.

But of course, there was also the issue of there being over 40 guard dogs around him, trying to get him to go back to his cell.

"Listen here, mutts," Michael sighed. "There's an enemy coming—demons. If I don't warn your king, then you're all going to die."

"As if we would believe an intruder!" one of the guard dogs exclaimed. "It's enough for us to have to watch a mere human, and yet, here you are, claiming the mythical demons to be approaching us!"

"I wonder if you dogs can take catnip? Would it have the same effect...? Dognip?" Michael muttered, confusing the guard dogs.

"Anyways, I'm out of this place. See ya in a bit."

With those words, he suddenly blasted the door open, swiftly dodging the incoming guard dog attacks, until eventually, he flew into the sky, and then toward the castle.

The chihuahua seemed to have already noticed his presence as it spread out a fierce mana at him.

However, even if it was fierce, it was wild, which also meant it didn't affect Michael much because of his constitution.

The constitution of not giving a fuck.

Therefore, he soon blasted through the castle's entrance and once again arrived in the inner part, staring down at the king chihuahua.

"You've got some guests, by the way, and I'm not talking about myself either," Michael remarked, pointing to the sky. "Demons are coming, and I'm sure if you took one good look around, you'd feel them too."

The chihuahua king was about to speak; however, it decided to listen to Michael for once.

And soon, its eyes widened.

However, even if it was an animal, it was still a king; therefore, it calmly addressed its guard.

"We indeed have demons heading our way. They're not the strongest bunch, but that means our location has been found," the chihuahua stated. "Gather the infantry and summon the kamikaze bees. We're going to fight back."

The chihuahua turned to Michael. "As for you? I have no clue what to do with you. Just get out of my kingdom."

"I'd gladly do it after the fight is finished. After all, I came here with the sole intention of finding demons, though I found you guys instead." Michael chuckled. "Though you can give me a gift if I were to help you, of course—if you're feeling generous."

"I'm not." The chihuahua shook its head. "Your presence here is unneeded further, so cease your foolishness and take your leave."

Michael rolled his eyes and shrugged. "Fine, I'll watch the fight from far away. Also, I'm sure you already know, but one of those incoming demons is also a Tier 8—just like you, doggy."

The moment the chihuahua heard his words, it flinched.

"Oh?" Michael raised a brow. "And here I thought that alongside your strength, you also had good senses. Seems like you're an inexperienced fighter."

"Be quiet," the chihuahua said coldly. "I might not have a lot of fighting experience. However, my strength is well earned, and I'll show that today."

With that, the chihuahua got off its throne and suddenly began floating, surprising Michael.

"I will be heading out first, so—"

"My king..." a lion spoke up. "I believe you should remain here as a last line of defense. They aren't going to send their commander in, so you shouldn't show yourself either. Wait for us to dwindle their numbers first, and then you may do whatever you wish."

"Hmm..." the chihuahua fell into thought. "I suppose that is a valid concern. Very well, I shall remain here for the time being. Go get them."

The lion nodded and immediately dashed away, gathering all the nearby soldiers in the process, until eventually, they had a whole infantry ready to attack.

And of course, the demons which had been far away were now no more than 2 kilometers away—meaning that in less than 20 seconds, they would arrive.

This is definitely going to be an interesting fight. Animals versus demons. I'm not feeling any Evangelists from their side, so perhaps this might actually be somewhat fair, Michael pondered and waved toward the king before shooting up into the sky.

The demons could fly, and so could he, but the same didn't go for the animals.

Or so he thought. But the kamikaze bees the chihuahua had mentioned earlier finally showed up.

And it was a massive swarm, numbering nearly 10,000 bees, all of which had red stripes instead of yellow.

The same went for their stingers, which were a pale orange color, and the very end seemed to be something akin to a black fuse—almost like if it made contact with anything, then it would explode.

Which honestly, was likely the case.

I guess they might not lose then, Michael hummed and flew even further above.

However, to his surprise, the air suddenly distorted, and in the very next moment, the sky parted open, almost as if an illusion was dispelled.

And that seemed to be the case as the kamikaze bees suddenly flew past him, heading straight for the incoming demons.

Soon they clashed, and loud explosions rang out—some of which even managed to send shivers down his spine.

How does something so small cause such a big explosion? Fucking hell... Michael chuckled.

However, as he was lost in his thoughts, a spear flew his way, which he immediately ducked to dodge.

And as he stared at the one behind the attack, he saw some lanky demon with 10 trimmed horns on its head.

Basically, it looked fucking ugly.

But from its power, Michael assumed it was roughly Tier 6, which meant it was likely one of the captains of this demon brigade.

As much as he wanted to let the animal kingdom fight it out, Michael decided to throw some hands too.

Therefore, he sent a glare at the demon, and before it could process what was happening, Michael brought down his hand.

Immediately, hundreds of thousands of light swords fell from the sky, each of them heading straight for the demon.

But as he thought that would be enough to end the fight early, the demon suddenly erected a black barrier around itself.

And the moment it did, every single light sword that made contact with the black barrier disintegrated, leaving behind some weird substance that was absorbed into the demon's body.

Hmm... the barrier is absorbing light mana and converting it to demonic mana. What an interesting creation, Michael thought, grinning.

"Oi! Do you have any more of those lying around?"

"What...?" The demon tilted its head, confused. "This is a racial skill of ours. Why would I have more of that lying around?"

"I was just asking, jeez, no need to be so cranky," Michael replied teasingly, and despite his tone, he had been preparing a little gift for the demon.

And that gift was a full mirage attack, which the demon didn't even seem to clock, until finally, it was too late.

Two tiny Piercing Light swords shot through the demon's body, pinning its small mosquito-like wings to its body and effectively stopping its flight.

However, even as he did that, Michael realized that wouldn't be enough.

So, like a kind gentleman, he dashed forward.

The demon attempted to raise its hands to block, but its momentum was slowly fading due to its wings being clipped, which meant it was now falling down, unable to glide properly.

And of course, Michael used that to his advantage as he delivered a fierce uppercut to the demon's jaw, making it twist backward as if it was completely broken.

But demons were not pushovers, so it merely healed itself and tilted its head back toward Michael, who now had a wide grin on his face.

After all, that little attack was a distraction, and now, he was aiming a bow with 10 golden arrows on it.

Better yet, he was in point-blank range of the demon, meaning that he would achieve the maximum power.

And so, under the demon's shocked gaze, he released the bowstring, making each of the arrows pierce through the demon's body, even hitting the demonic core in the process.

Michael chuckled as he summoned a sword of light and brought it onto what remained of the demon's head.

Then, he gently tapped it.

"Boop."
