Chapter 24: System Shop Unlock

Adrien opened his eyes.

He found himself in a strange, dark place. All around was nothing but an ink-black void and an unsettling silence. He tried to look in every direction, but there was nothing—only emptiness.

"Where… am I?" Adrien whispered to himself.

But the uncanny stillness made his own voice echo back to him, again and again, until it felt as though a dozen versions of him were all asking at once.

He immediately called out, "System!"

No response.

"System… can you hear me?"

Still nothing. No voice, no sign.

In that silence, a faint unease took root in his chest.

Then, before him, a dark shape began to take form.

As the figure grew clearer, Adrien's whole body trembled under a crushing pressure. It was as though a mountain had been dropped onto his soul. He struggled even to breathe.

The shadow spoke—

The words were indistinct, like a broken whisper through a storm, but he caught one fragment, a single warning:

"Beware… the system…"

And then—

Suddenly—

His eyes flew open.

Adrien was back in his own room.

He turned his head to the window. Outside, the sun hung high in the sky. It was already midday.

In a hoarse voice, he asked, "System… how long have I been unconscious?"

The system's voice finally returned—

"Host, you have been unconscious for nearly two days."

Adrien sat in silence, processing that. Then he swung his legs over the side of the bed and slowly stood up, moving to leave the room.

As soon as he stepped into the hall, a girl came hurrying toward him.

"Young Master! You shouldn't be out of bed yet. You need more rest…"

He knew that voice.

It was Han Fi.

Adrien looked at her closely, then gave her a faint, reassuring smile.

"I'm fine. I don't need any more rest. And you… how are you feeling?"

Han Fi ducked her head shyly, her lips curving in a gentle smile.

"Ever since your treatment… I've felt completely well, Young Master."

Adrien immediately called up her status through the system—

Adrien's brows rose in surprise.

Forty-seven Destiny Points? And an SS Scope Grade? That was like a hidden princess of some ancient sacred clan.

But his gaze froze on the Relationship Points.

"15 out of 20… In love?" he thought, stunned.

"But… I thought the maximum was 10. Since when did it go up to 20? And in love? Does that mean… this girl already…"

He spoke aloud, "System, what is all this? Can you explain it to me?"

The system's voice replied—

"Host, please check your notifications first."

Adrien's gaze slowly lifted to Han Fi, who was standing quietly nearby.

But he chose not to say anything to her about what he'd seen. Drawing in a measured breath, he asked instead, "Where is my mother, and everyone else?"

Han Fi lowered her head respectfully.

"The Clan Leader is away on some business, Young Master. My Lady went to the training grounds."

Adrien nodded.

"All right. Let's go there too."

He and Han Fi walked together toward the training arena.

The training grounds were vast. All around were racks lined with different weapons, wooden training dummies, and equipment for sparring drills. A few guards were practicing under the supervision of instructors, but in front of them all—

Selena stood, teaching Mia sword forms.

At that moment, Mia was attacking a dummy with quick, decisive strikes, beads of sweat forming on her brow.

As soon as Selena noticed Adrien entering the grounds, she stopped Mia with a wave of her hand. Then she hurried forward and, without a word, threw her arms around her son.

"At last… my child is awake…" her voice broke with emotion as she cradled his head gently against her shoulder.

"I'm fine, Mother," Adrien murmured, smiling faintly. "During the sacrifice ritual, all my qi was depleted, so I remained unconscious for two days."

Selena didn't answer—she knew too well how many times she'd paced in front of his room over those two days, unable to rest. Even though Rowan kept assuring her that Adrien was only in a deep sleep, a mother's worry was its own kind of torment.

Just that morning, Evelen had reminded her that Mia was technically her disciple and she hadn't begun any training yet. So Selena had come here with Mia—but her heart and mind had never left her son's bedside.

After a moment, she gave Mia a few more instructions to continue her drills, then returned to the manor with Adrien.

When they arrived, Selena immediately called for the attendants to prepare breakfast. Then she turned toward Han Fi with a warm smile.

"Child, Han Fi, will you join us for the meal?"

Han Fi bowed her head demurely.

"No, My Lady—I ate a little earlier."

But before she could say more, Adrien interjected firmly—

"Your body is still recovering. You need nourishment, so no skipping meals right now. Understood?"

Han Fi fell silent, then nodded obediently.

Afterward, Adrien gestured for his mother to sit, and he took a seat himself.

Once settled, he quietly summoned the system interface.

This time, a new feature had appeared—Shop.

Adrien tapped on Shop.

A translucent screen shimmered open, displaying the current balance of points in the corner—

8,235.6 Points!

He was a little startled… and then started scrolling.

Items available in the shop:

Full Energy Recovery Pill (High Rank) — 1 point / 1 bottle

Healing Pill (High Rank) — 1 point / 1 bottle

Storage Ring (500 square meters) — 50 points

High-Level 100 Spirit Stones — Only 10 points (Note: purchases limited to 100 points per day)

When Adrien saw this, the tea he was drinking got stuck in his throat and he immediately spat it out.

Selena looked at him in surprise. "What happened, son? Eat your breakfast calmly."

Adrien felt embarrassed. He shook his head. "Nothing, Mother… the tea was a bit too hot."

"System," Adrien asked, narrowing his eyes, "these spirit stones you're offering in the shop… are they really high-level?"

"Absolutely, Host," the system replied promptly. "They are superior-grade spirit stones, many times purer and more powerful than any stones in this world."

Adrien sat thinking for a while, as if absorbed in calculations. "If I take 100 high-level spirit stones and convert them to mid-level, I could get nearly 10,000… and if I convert them to low-level, a million… meaning with 100 points I could directly get 10 million low-level spirit stones?"

A smile spread across his face, as if some promising plan was taking shape.

"Mother," he asked casually, "how many spirit stones do we have in our treasury at the moment?"

Selena thought for a moment and then said, "There should be more than four hundred thousand. But son, why do you ask all of a sudden? Do you need something?"

"No, Mother," Adrien smiled, "just a thought that crossed my mind."

Selena looked at him a little doubtfully and then said, "Two days ago, your father captured some bandits and confiscated their wealth. The full count isn't in yet, but our assets are in a good state."

Adrien didn't ask any more questions and instead focused completely on the system.

"System," Adrien said, "if I want, can I get low-level spirit stones directly instead of high-level?"

"Yes, Host," the system said, "you can select any rank of spirit stones from the shop. If you wish, you can also convert previously purchased stones."

"All right, then give me 100 points worth of low-level spirit stones."

The system's voice came:

"First purchase successful. 10,000,000 (10 million) low-level spirit stones have been sent to your inventory. You may collect them there."

At the breakfast table, Han Fi kept glancing secretly at Adrien and quickly lowering her head again.

Selena noticed this but said nothing. She knew—when Adrien had been unconscious, Han Fi had been worried.

Adrien looked at her, then asked calmly, "Han Fi, where is your brother Chen?"

"Young Master," Han Fi replied, "he went somewhere with your father."

Adrien looked at Selena.

"Your father saw the potential in that child," she explained. "He felt his future was very bright. So he took him for special training."

Adrien nodded in agreement. "Chen truly has immense potential. This was absolutely the right decision."

After breakfast, Selena andHan Fi went back toward the training area.

Adrien stood up and entered his self-dimensional space.
