Help, I'm A Cringy Sonic OC!

Chapter 12: Question Dealing

It had been a week since the battle with Chaos, and in that time, the city of Station Square had changed. The once-shy whispers of a new hero had grown into a deafening roar of excitement and admiration. Striker and Gamma had become local celebrities, their faces plastered on billboards and the covers of magazines. The hybrid's lightning speed and electric abilities, coupled with Gamma's sheer power and the emotional weight of his redemption arc away from Dr. Robotnik, had captured the hearts of the citizens.

Together, they had taken on smaller threats that had arisen in the wake of Eggman's retreat, earning the trust of the people they swore to protect. Striker's sickly yellow quills fluttered in the wind as he zipped through the city streets, his eyes scanning for trouble. The sight of him was now met with cheers and waves, children mimicking his pose as he sped by. Gamma, once feared as a mindless weapon, was now revered as a gentle giant, his robotic heart beating in time with the rhythm of the city's gratitude.

Their partnership had become the stuff of legend, a testament to the power of friendship and redemption. They patrolled the city in a seamless dance of yellow and red, their movements so in sync it was as if they had been fighting side by side for years. The locals gad dubbed them 'Team Light' and the name had stuck. They were an unstoppable force, a beacon of hope in a world that often felt shrouded in the shadow of Eggman's looming presence.

But even as the city celebrated their new heroes, Striker was contemplating a new challenge. He had seen Rouge in the shadows of the city, her sleek form slipping in and out of view. She had been watching him, he was sure of it, and he knew that she had information he needed. He had to find her, to find Shadow before Eggman did.

Gamma, ever perceptive, noticed the change in Striker's demeanor. "What troubles you, friend?" he asked, his deep voice a gentle rumble.

"It's the Bat, the one that's been following us," Striker said, his eyes scanning the skies. "I need her to stay still for just five seconds."

Gamma nodded, his eyes narrowing. "We will find her," he assured Striker. "Together."

They set off on their search, their newfound unity a force to be reckoned with. Striker's electric aura crackled with anticipation, his Pikachu tail standing tall as he pushed himself to new speeds. Gamma's jetpack roared to life, the powerful thrust lifting him into the air alongside his friend. They soared over the city, a dynamic duo of light and shadow, searching for any sign of the elusive bat-like figure that had been haunting the periphery of their missions.

The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange. The city lights began to flicker on, casting a warm glow across the streets. Striker's heightened senses picked up on a faint scent of jasmine and oil—Rouge's distinctive scent. His heart raced as he pointed it out to Gamma, who nodded in understanding.

They followed the trail to the outskirts of the city, where the buildings grew sparse and the air grew cooler. There, perched atop a water tower, was the spy they had been seeking. Rouge's wings folded behind her, her eyes narrowed as she spotted the approaching heroes. She knew she had been found out.

Gamma touched down with a heavy thud, his metal feet echoing through the stillness. "You've been watching us," he said, his voice a low growl.

Rouge smirked, not the least bit intimidated. "I could say the same about you two," she quipped, her Spanish accent adding an exotic flair to her words. "What's so important that you had to track me down?"

Striker stepped forward, his quills bristling with energy. "We need to talk to you." he said, his voice firm. "I know G.U.N probably wants information on me and you'll get fired if you can't find any, so how about this, you look into product Shadow and I'll tell you a bit about myself."

Rouge tilted her head, intrigued by the hybrid's proposal. "Alright," she said, hopping down from her perch. "But you better make it worth my while."

"I will, just get going please, the fate of the world is at stake." Striker replied with urgency, his tail swishing impatiently. Rouge's eyes widened slightly, understanding that this was no trivial matter. She led them to a secluded rooftop, one that offered a breathtaking view of the cityscape.

The sun had painted the sky with a canvas of fiery oranges and deep purples, and as the light faded, the city's neon lights began to pulse to life like a living organism. Rouge turned to face them, her expression serious. "What's so important about Product Shadow?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

Striker took a deep breath, his mind racing with the words he had rehearsed so many times in his head, "Rouge, I know you work for G.U.N., and you've probably been sent to keep tabs on me, but there's something you need to know." The bat-girl's cyan eyes studied him intently, and he could see the cogs turning in her head, trying to piece together the puzzle he was laying before her. "There's an artificial hedgehog named Shadow. He's got the same kind of power as Sonic and me, but he's not like us. He's dangerous, and he's connected to the old Space Ark Colony."

Gamma's metallic body shifted slightly, his robotic eyes never leaving Rouge. "We believe he's in stasis at a G.U.N base," he rumbled, his voice a gentle bass that seemed to resonate with the very air around them. "We need to find him before Eggman does."

Rouge's smirk faded, replaced by a look of concern. "I'll . . . get to it, if this is a ploy of sone kind I swear to Chaos . . ." she said, her voice trailing off as she saw the earnestness in their eyes.

Without another word, she took to the skies, her wings beating a steady rhythm against the cool night air. Striker watched her go, his thoughts racing. He had revealed his true nature to her, and now he could only hope that she would understand the gravity of their situation. The fate of the world truly did rest on their shoulders, and if G.U.N could help them locate Shadow, they might stand a chance against whatever Eggman had planned.

Gamma looked at Striker, his metal body shifting slightly. "Do you trust her?" he asked, his deep voice rumbling.

The hybrid nodded. "We have to," Striker said, his voice tight with determination. "We can't do this alone, and she's the key to finding Shadow."

The two friends watched the city lights blur as they raced through the night, their mission weighing heavily on their hearts. They knew that Eggman was out there, plotting his next move, and with each passing second, the stakes grew higher. They had to find Shadow before it was too late, before he could be used as a weapon against them.

Rouge swooped into the G.U.N. base, her wings folding neatly against her back as she landed with the grace of a cat burglar. She had been here before, but this time she was on a mission of her own accord. The gleaming corridors were eerily quiet, the only sounds the hum of the machinery and the clack of her boots as she approached the mainframe room. The guards were on high alert, their eyes scanning the area for any signs of intrusion.

With a flick of her wrist, she produced a small, sleek device that hummed to life in her hand. It was a tool of her trade, one that could bypass even the most sophisticated security systems with ease. She had picked it up on one of her many reconnaissance missions, and it had served her well.

The door to the mainframe room slid open, revealing a wall of screens and blinking lights that seemed to pulse with the very lifeblood of the base. Rouge's eyes danced over the consoles, searching for the right terminal. Her heart raced as she plugged in her device, her mind racing through the lines of code that scrolled by in a blur.

The mainframe beeped in protest as she hacked into it, but it didn't take long before she found what she was looking for—Project Shadow. The file was encrypted, but that was nothing to someone with her skills. With a smirk, she cracked the code, the screen flickering to reveal classified information that would make even the most stoic of agents sweat.

The data was extensive, detailing the creation of the artificial hedgehog and his ties to the Space Ark Colony. She skimmed through the documents, her eyes widening at the mention of the Chaos Emeralds. So that's what Eggman was after, she thought to herself. But why Shadow?

Her gaze fell upon a set of coordinates, and she knew she had found the location of his stasis pod. It was on the edge of the base, in a high-security wing that was practically a fortress unto itself. Rouge's expression grew serious as she realized the gravity of the situation. If Eggman got his hands on Project Shadow, it would be game over.

Her mind raced with the implications. The power of the Chaos Emeralds combined with Shadow's abilities would be unstoppable. The fate of the world hung in the balance, and she had a decision to make. Rouge knew that she had to act fast if she was to prevent a catastrophe of epic proportions.

With a deep breath, she pocketed the device and made her way to the high-security wing. The guards were more numerous here, their eyes scanning the corridors with cold efficiency. Rouge knew she had to be careful, her every move calculated. She slipped into the shadows, her white fur blending with the darkness as she approached the final door.

The lock was a complex beast, but it was no match for her skills. With a soft click, it opened, revealing a chamber that was colder than the vacuum of space itself. In the center of the room, encased in a crystal pod, was Shadow—his body still, but the aura of power emanating from him was unmistakable.

Her mission was clear now. She had to warn Striker and Gamma. Together, they could stop Eggman before he could awaken this sleeping giant and unleash havoc upon the world.

With a silent nod to the slumbering hedgehog, she turned and left the room, her boots echoing through the corridor as she made her way back to the rooftop. The night air was a welcome relief from the stifling confines of the base, and she took to the skies, her mind racing with the urgency of her message.

As she flew over the city, the lights below seemed to blur into a sea of color, her thoughts focused solely on the mission ahead. They had to get to Shadow before Eggman did. The fate of the world was in their hands, and she would not let it slip through her fingers.

The wind rushed past her as she sped towards the rendezvous point, her thoughts racing faster than the air currents. Rouge knew that she had crossed a line, but it was a risk she was willing to take. For the sake of the planet, she had to trust a former Badnik, and a complete unknown . .

Yeah, Mobius was probably fucked.
