The plant burst into flames, crackling and smoldering as it crumbled into motionless ash.

This has to be another world.

There was no way this could be his own world.

"What were you thinking, wandering in such a dangerous forest while dressed like that?"

The man looked down at Shen Xinghui with a stern, scolding expression.

What's with that question? I want answers too, Shen Xinghui thought.

"Are you alright?" the man asked again, more gently this time.

"Ah, yes… I think so. Thank you, really."

Shen Xinghui's mind was still hazy, and his body hadn't fully cooled down.

A lingering warmth pulsed through him, and there was a sweet ache deep within that wouldn't fade.

"I, uh, my name is Shen Xinghui, you can call me Xinghui," he said, trying to focus.

"Shen Xinghui? What a strange name, and it's hard to pronounce too," the man replied. "What species are you?"

"Species? I'm… human."

To think that in his 22 years of life, Shen Xinghui would ever be asked what species he was—it almost made him laugh.

But the man before him tilted his head, clearly puzzled.

His sharp eyes scanned Shen Xinghui's body from head to toe, which made him blush with embarrassment.

"Even if you're human, that name is unusual. And if you're human, you should know how dangerous this forest is. The Aldrathian Great Forest is not a place for an unarmed, lightly-dressed wanderer."

That much, Shen Xinghui had learned the hard way.

Still, he needed answers—where exactly was he?

"Excuse me, may I ask you something?" Shen Xinghui said cautiously.

"What is it?"

"Where am I? This isn't somewhere on Earth, is it?"

Not that he'd believe it even if the man said yes.

The man tilted his head further, clearly more confused.

Meanwhile, Shen Xinghui remained cradled in his arms like a princess.

It's felt a little bit embarrassed.

"This is the Aldrathian Great Forest, located between the Cindralith Kingdom and Zirathian Democracy. It's a dangerous area that was classified as a Level 2 Forbidden Area. It's also home for Giant Monsters and Carnivorous Plants with rating at least B+ above."

"I've never heard of it…" Shen Xinghui muttered.

What even are those kingdoms?

And did he just casually mention about giant monster and carnivorous plants?

"You've never heard of them? These two kingdoms are two major kingdoms in this world—everyone, even small children, knows about them," the man said, his brows furrowing in confusion.

He looked closely at Shen Xinghui again, his gaze sharpening as if piecing together a revelation.

"Wait… are you from another world?"

There it was—the words he'd been expecting.

Even though Shen Xinghui had suspected as much, hearing it confirmed still shook him.

Yet, the evidence was undeniable: monsters, carnivorous plants, and magic—things he couldn't rationalize within the logic of his previous life.
