High Martial Arts: Unmatched in Reality - Ascending Beyond the Game

Chapter 13: Ch13 -Jiang Qiuran's Inner Thoughts: I Can Do It Too!

A weak human dares to wrestle with me?

The black-horned bull thought this as it charged toward the human before it, imagining the moment when its sharp horns would pierce the weak body and claim victory.

Bang!

A deafening crash echoed through the night.

Under the black-horned bull's shocked gaze, the slender human in front of it gripped its massive horn with one hand, easily dissipating the enormous impact that had been carried in the bull's charge.

It felt as if it was not colliding with a human, but with a massive mountain.

Under the faint starlight, a giant bull weighing a thousand pounds was being held down by a human who was less than a quarter of its size, effortlessly overpowering it with just one hand.

No matter how hard the bull struggled, it couldn't break free from the crushing force.

Then, in a flash of light, a sharp gleam cut through the night.

The black-horned bull's eyes widened in disbelief as a clean line of blood appeared across its neck. Blood sprayed out in a fountain.

It mooed in pain, but the suffering only grew worse, making it feel as if its very soul was being ripped apart. The mane on its body stood up like steel needles, as though the bull itself had become a fortress.

However, before it could react, a sudden, immense force surged from above its head. The black-horned bull felt its enormous body being dragged forward uncontrollably.

Its head smashed into the ground with tremendous force.

Boom!

The ground cracked under the impact, dust rising into the air.

The bull's head sank deep into the earth, and its black horns splintered under the force of the collision.

For a moment, its limbs flailed weakly before it fell silent.

The other black-horned bull witnessed its companion's tragic end and let out a shrill howl, instinctively feeling fear in its gut.

Yogan, who had been watching, smirked slightly as he sensed the change in the beast's emotions. He decided to press the advantage and pursue.

Moments later, blood sprayed once again. Yogan's dagger, wrapped in the energy of the earth and sky, shot forward like a bolt of lightning, plunging deep into the bull's throat.

After a brief struggle, the second black-horned bull fell into a pool of its own blood.

Yogan's face remained impassive as he withdrew his dagger, marking the spot with a symbol. The school logistics team would later retrieve the beasts' corpses based on this mark, and their scores would be tallied accordingly.

Having taken care of the two beasts, Yogan shifted his gaze to the other two ongoing battles.

Mitchell, armed with a shield, was still locked in combat with his black-horned bull. His first-grade warrior physique and stamina allowed him to hold his own for the time being.

Meanwhile, Jiang Qiuran's silver blade danced through the air, striking the black-horned bull with precision each time. Although her strikes left deep injuries, they were not fatal, so she had to wear the beast down gradually.

After another fifteen minutes of battle, the black-horned bull, exhausted from the constant injuries, let out a final, pained roar before collapsing to the ground.

Jiang Qiuran sheathed her sword, letting out a breath of relief, and a smile of pride crossed her face.

Killing a first-level beast alone might not have been a record worth boasting about, but it was still an impressive feat for an ordinary high school student.

Hearing the sounds of continued fighting behind her, Jiang Qiuran's smile widened slightly. She began walking confidently toward the noise.

"I'll handle it!" she called out, her voice laced with arrogance as she strode toward the commotion.

"Sister Jiang, help me!" Mitchell's desperate voice rang out, and he sounded as though he were on the verge of collapse. "Why are there two beasts chasing you? Where's Yogan?"

Jiang Qiuran turned her gaze toward the direction of Mitchell's voice, a puzzled expression crossing her face. Her sharp eyes scanned the area.

Though the black-horned bulls were formidable, Yogan's strength should have been enough to hold them off. At the very least, he could delay them for a while.

"Sister Jiang, Yogan's just out for personal revenge. You've got to testify for me when we get back to school!" Mitchell called out again, his voice tinged with frustration as he was tossed around like a ragdoll by the two beasts.

Jiang Qiuran, still puzzled, glanced around.

Suddenly, her eyes widened in surprise.

In the distance, standing casually with a bored expression, was a young man dressed in black martial arts attire. His posture was relaxed, but his eyes remained vigilant as he surveyed the wilderness.

"Why aren't you helping Mitchell?" she asked, frowning.

"We're all on the same team, you—" she started, but as she spoke, her eyes grew wide in shock.

"...You killed two black-horned bulls? When?"

"Just now," Yogan replied calmly, nodding.

Jiang Qiuran was stunned. She walked toward him, her expression blank as she processed what she had just heard.

When she saw the lifeless bodies of the two black-horned bulls, her disbelief deepened.

"Sister Jiang, help me!" Mitchell's desperate cry pierced the air once more.

But Jiang Qiuran, frozen in place, didn't seem to hear him at all. She stood there, motionless, her gaze locked on the scene before her.

The pride she had felt moments earlier began to crumble.

Both black-horned bulls had been killed in one strike. There were no unnecessary wounds—just two clean kills, especially the one that had been driven into the ground...

"This kind of power..." she thought, her teeth gritting in frustration.

Her chest tightened as she glared at Yogan, her red lips trembling with emotion, but she didn't care that a small trickle of blood now stained them.

After a long pause, Jiang Qiuran drew her sword from its sheath with a steely expression on her face.

The cold, gleaming blade seemed to pulse with power as she advanced toward Mitchell.

"First-level martial arts—Ice Slash!" she shouted, her voice carrying the weight of the technique she was about to unleash.

The icy aura surrounding her blade merged with her energy, forming a deadly, frigid edge that exuded a menacing aura.

"Sister Jiang, you've come to save me!" Mitchell shouted, his voice filled with relief as he struggled to fend off the remaining bull.

Jiang Qiuran's blade cut through the air with a sharp hiss, striking the other black-horned bull.

"Swish!"

The sound of the sword slicing through the air was accompanied by a blast of freezing energy. The cold seeped into the beast's body, instantly freezing its blood.

The beast, once wild and violent, began to slow, its movements becoming sluggish as the ice spread throughout its veins.

Finally, with a final cry, the black-horned bull collapsed to the ground.

Jiang Qiuran stood over the fallen beast, her breath shallow, her pale face betraying the exhaustion she felt.

"I can kill a black-horned bull with one strike!" she thought, though her words felt hollow as she realized how much further she had to go to catch up to Yogan's incredible strength.
