When old grudges and new decisions are thrown into the mix, they often create an explosive mixture.
Uzumaki Naruto's decision immediately sent a wave of cold sweat rushing over the ninjas of Konoha Village. His actions were so unexpected and contrary to what one might think that they couldn't help but question his motives.
This guy, Naruto, was truly a force to be reckoned with.
Senju Tobirama: "Hey! I can't even speak anymore, Konoha in the other world seems like it won't escape this catastrophe."
Onoki: "Is the Jinchūriki in the village going to turn against us? This is a terrible possibility."
Fourth Raikage: "Not necessarily. With Uzumaki Naruto's scheming in the other world, it's more complicated than just sabotaging Konoha Village."
Terumi Mei: "That's right. Didn't you hear what he said? A small, dilapidated village can always be rebuilt after destruction. His goal isn't to destroy Konoha."
A Small Broken Village?
The words seemed absurd. If Naruto considered Konoha Village to be just a small, broken village, what would he say about the other ninja villages? His words were a brutal blow to the pride of Konoha. What did it mean for a ninja to consider their home so insignificant?
In that moment, everyone realized what Uzumaki Naruto was truly implying.
It wasn't the village itself that mattered to him, but the people within it.
So it wasn't the destruction of Konoha Village itself that was his ultimate goal—it was the people who resided in it that he sought to destroy.
This realization sent shivers down the spines of many.
It made sense now. After all, Uzumaki Naruto had spent so much time trying to prove his worth to the villagers of Konoha. He had given wisdom to them, hoping to earn their respect and perhaps even their love.
Shimura Danzō: "Damn Hiruzen, look at this. Look at what your naive ideals have brought upon Konoha Village."
Sarutobi Hiruzen: "What are you shouting for? Konoha has nothing left to lose at this point! Besides, Naruto over there isn't stupid. He won't attack Konoha without careful preparation."
From the high platform, Orochimaru observed Sarutobi Hiruzen with an air of amusement.
"I have to say, your luck is quite something, teacher."
"Elected as the Third Hokage through the Second Hokage's schemes, you've managed to sit at the top for decades. Even after the Fourth Hokage's sacrifice, Danzo could never surpass you in the race for Hokage."
"It's another twelve years later. When Naruto seeks vengeance against Konoha, you'll be dead at my hands."
"You truly have some luck," Orochimaru said with a cold chuckle.
Sarutobi Hiruzen's rage was instant.
"You traitor! You dare speak such nonsense!"
Orochimaru smirked. "Well, don't pretend. You probably enjoy the thought of me doing this to you, don't you?"
Orochimaru spread his hands nonchalantly. "With your so-called 'Will of Fire,' all the misfortune is being borne by this foolish generation."
"If you are killed by me, then who will be the Hokage?" he added with a slight laugh.
Sarutobi Hiruzen couldn't contain his anger anymore.
"We're not done yet, Orochimaru. I won't let you win."
In Orochimaru's mind, the current state of Konoha was a mere reflection of what was to come. The destruction of Konoha after this Chūnin exam was inevitable. Uzumaki Naruto, with all his schemes, would never let Konoha rest in peace.
What intrigued Orochimaru the most was how Uzumaki Naruto planned to retain control over Konoha. After all, to him, the village itself was expendable; the villagers, on the other hand, were expendable too if they couldn't be trusted or controlled.
As Konoha's existence grew more fragile, Orochimaru wondered what would come of the rest of the ninja world. The coming chaos would be... exhilarating.
In the stands, Naruto's contemporaries were rendered speechless. The villagers of Konoha were equally baffled by what they were hearing.
Uzumaki Naruto was an enigma. His true intentions remained shrouded in a cloud of mystery, making everyone question his every move. Could he really betray those he had called his friends for so long?
One spectator whispered: "Is he really going to destroy the village? Does he no longer care about his comrades?"
The truth was, it wasn't that Naruto didn't care—it was that his heart had become numb, twisted by betrayal and endless struggle. Like many before him, he was lost in his own grief, only now more dangerous than ever before.
In the spirit world, the Nine Tails observed Uzumaki Naruto, squinting with a mix of curiosity and apathy.
"Hmph! What's so surprising? Naruto is simply doing what he's supposed to, what he must do."
In the entire arena, Uchiha Sasuke's lips curved upward ever so slightly, his gaze fixated on the figure of Naruto in the other world.
Sasuke: "Uzumaki Naruto must understand the weight of revenge, just like me."
Back in the spirit world, Naruto could hear the Nine Tails' voice.
"Remember what I said," the Nine Tails rumbled in his mind. "You only care about your 'compatriots' because they are the few left to you. But don't mistake that for weakness."
Indeed, there was no mercy in Naruto's heart for those who dared betray him.
