241. Motivation to learn
Hermione, Daphne and Elaine didn't start arguing because of their experience during last Christmas break.
They had already reached a consensus at that time──
Elaine slept in the middle.
But in order to ensure Hermione's personal safety and to prevent Daphne from messing around, safety measures must be taken.
So, Elaine was wrapped in three quilts and made into a sushi roll, lying in the middle of the bed.
The soft duvet can not only keep out the cold air from the outside, but also isolate Elaine from physical contact with other people. It can also absorb the heat emitted from her body to achieve a perfect warmth retention effect.
In this way, Elaine, who is afraid of the cold, does not need to rely on Hermione or Daphne's body temperature to survive the cold Scottish winter.
Daphne doesn't have to worry about Elaine messing with Hermione. The binding spell can ensure that Elaine's limbs cannot stretch out of the quilt. Even if Elaine really wants to do something to Hermione, the most she can do is knock Hermione out of the bed with her body. .
Elaine and Daphne both agreed, and Hermione naturally had no objections.
After all, she didn't want to get between Elaine and Daphne, and it wasn't Elaine who forced her into the water.
So it became a routine.
As long as three people share a bed, Elaine, who is wrapped in three quilts, will definitely sleep in the middle.
However, it seems to be summer now.
"let me out"
Elaine was really close to tears.
It's so hot. It's so hot. Damn it.
The air conditioner was completely useless, and the duvet absorbed the heat very well, preparing to suffocate Elaine to death.
On the huge bed, the giant strip in the center was squirming crazily, like a giant caterpillar.
Hermione and Daphne didn't care about this, and even took pleasure in it.
Let you insist on three people sleeping together
"No, we made an appointment." Hermione said seriously, "If you want to sleep together, you have to wrap up three quilts."
"It was Christmas and winter when it was snowing." Elaine's roar came through the quilt, which sounded a little weird. "It's July"
"No." Daphne said with a sullen smile. "It's just after twelve o'clock, it's August."
"────Let me go"
Crazy Elaine began to scroll left and right, and there was a strong tendency that you would not let me sleep well, and I would not let you sleep well either.
This didn't bother the witch. Hermione raised her wand and cast a transformation spell on the bed.
The middle bed where Elaine was sitting immediately sank, and the originally flat bed temporarily became concave. No matter how Elaine rolled, she would return to the center due to inertia.
After almost half an hour of commotion, Hermione and Daphne let go of Elaine who was exhausted and dizzy from the heat.
This farce drained all Elaine's energy, leaving her with no energy to think about unnecessary things and to have a good sleep.
***
The next morning, Hermione, Elaine, Daphne and Harry, accompanied by Sirius, went shopping in Diagon Alley.
After a year of recuperation, Sirius looks much better than last year. When he was first released from prison, he was like a living skeleton. Now he is a lively and noisy big boy with a sense of humor and always wants to have fun with Harry── In fact, Elaine felt that Sirius seemed to have forgotten that they were five people going out together.
"Let's split up." Therefore, Elaine made a suggestion simply, "The three of us will go together, and you two men will go watch your Quidditch game. I really don't understand why, Harry, you still want to go to Fire Dome. Introduction to arrows, don’t you already have one at home?”
Harry's face turned slightly red, and Sirius just laughed at this, saying that a good Quidditch player would never give up an opportunity to understand the broomstick better.
Anyway, they left gracefully, leaving Elaine, Hermione and Daphne to stay where they were.
For some reason, the atmosphere was awkward.
"Well, let's buy textbooks first." Elaine made a decision immediately. Her intuition told her that she would be in trouble if she didn't speak. "What courses did you take?"
"Muggle Studies and Ancient Runes." Daphne frowned and asked, "You are not really a full practitioner, are you?"
"I have indeed completed all the studies." Hermione said, "No one says it can't be done. It's always a good thing to learn more."
"I don't want to take all the courses, it's just Adair who made his own decision." Elaine replied helplessly, "I haven't even seen the elective list, what can I do?"
"We can discuss this with Professor McGonagall─"
"No, it doesn't matter what that guy will do if he changes it without authorization. Anyway, just do it casually."
"What do you mean, just go up casually." Hermione was not satisfied with Elaine's words. “Be serious in class”
"You're still here," Elaine laughed, "It's enough if one of us is serious."
Listening to the conversation between Hermione and Elaine, alarm bells rang in Daphne's heart.
She began to hesitate whether she should complete the course like Elaine, but when she arrived at the bookstore and saw the thickness of the extra textbooks they bought, she hesitated again.
To be honest, if it weren't for walking side by side with Elaine, Daphne would not force herself to study magic.
She views schoolwork just like other little wizards - there are many more interesting things in the world than books.
Are textbooks edible?
Hermione and Elaine were the outliers, and few young wizards were as keen on learning as they were.
I don't know why, Hermione is passionate about any knowledge, and I don't know where she gets the motivation.
Elaine's interest in magic stems from her status as a Muggle and a time traveler, coupled with the psychology of adults - or should I say, the leisure and entertainment in the 1990s is simply not comparable to that of 2018 - resulting in the fact that those things that deceive children are completely unattractive. She, she could only pass the time by studying magic.
This makes Daphne have a hard time fighting for Elaine's attention.
She had to give up her interests and free time and spend time reading boring textbooks or asking about things in order to find common topics with Elaine.
Note that for Daphne, taking the same courses and spending time studying was all about spending more time with Elaine.
But taking such a course, there must be a lot of homework, and all the time we spend together will be spent on reading. What’s the point?
Doing homework together in the library is not a date.
You spend more time reading books than seeing people. A real date is also a date with a textbook, and people are just a foil.
If the problem is not fixed, Elaine and Hermione will have more in common.
When the time came, the two of them discussed their homework and threw themselves aside.
Looking at Hermione and Elaine discussing together, Daphne gritted her teeth and put the book into the shopping basket.
Although her parents did not give her an extra budget, she could still buy a few books with the pocket money she had saved in the past.
Such a crazy move fell into the eyes of Elaine who happened to look back.
"Why do you want to see the future through the fog?" She looked at Daphne in surprise, "It's not like you haven't studied divination."
"You all bought this, I want to see it too," Daphne said vaguely. "It's good to read it for fun. After all, it's a designated textbook. Only professors with certain qualities will designate it."
"Then you can borrow it from me or Hermione," Elaine asked with a puzzled look on her face. “Isn’t this a waste of money?”

After Daphne was silent for a few seconds, she picked up the book with her backhand and slapped it on Elaine's face.
