HOGWARTS - HARRY

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: A Bunch of Achievements Are Lit Up! But Something Seems to Be Wrong3h

Dylan knew exactly what kind of trouble that damn brother wand would cause.

He wanted absolutely nothing to do with it.

After trying all the wands Ollivander had recommended, the most suitable one turned out to be a thirteen-and-a-quarter-inch yew wand with a thestral tail feather core.

Ollivander was delighted.

So many years had passed, and these wands were all crafted with great effort when he was young. Now, one of them had finally found a worthy owner. It made him feel the joy of an old father seeing his daughter get married.

For this reason, Ollivander did not charge Dylan too much—just a friendly price.

In addition to that, he also gave him plenty of materials on wand maintenance and even a wand sheath made of Therius velvet.

"Sir, you're only charging me seven Galleons?" Dylan asked, surprised.

He had bought a wand but had received so many extra things in return that he was in an unexpectedly good mood.

"Yes, little wizard. The Ministry of Magic does not allow young wizards to be charged exorbitant prices for their wands," Ollivander explained.

Dylan immediately understood.

This must be a subsidy from the Ministry of Magic, ensuring that students could afford their wands.

Then, another thought struck him—these wands had been crafted in Ollivander's youth and had been sitting there, unsold, for years.

Dylan blinked.

I see!

No wonder he was given so many small gifts!

"Thank you, sir! I'll take my leave now."

Dylan walked out of the shop, his arms full of new belongings.

Ollivander watched him go with a satisfied smile.

"Another interesting little guy. And well-educated too," he murmured.

Meeting Professor McGonagall

As soon as Dylan stepped out, he spotted Professor McGonagall immediately.

He quickly walked up to her.

"I'm sorry, Professor McGonagall, for keeping you waiting."

"It's quite alright," she replied with a faint smile. "Picky wizards often achieve great success. I'm looking forward to seeing your performance at Hogwarts."

Her gaze flickered to the large bag Dylan was carrying.

Though she raised an eyebrow, she said nothing and instead offered a gentle reminder.

"Your wand may accompany you for life. Be sure not to let it suffer irreparable damage."

"I will take good care of it!" Dylan promised.

At that moment, excitement bubbled within him.

There was both the anticipation of stepping into the magical world and the joy of acquiring a new treasure.

Looking down at the wand wrapped in thestral fur, Dylan couldn't help but smile.

Professor McGonagall observed him for a moment.

Despite the maturity he exuded most of the time, his current expression was one of pure excitement, like a child receiving a long-awaited gift.

A hint of tenderness flashed through her eyes.

"Let's go. You still need to order some wizard robes. Of course, one set will suffice for now."

Shopping in Diagon Alley

Under Professor McGonagall's guidance, Dylan visited Madam Malkin's Robe Shop, Partridge's Cauldron Shop, and Flourish and Blotts Books.

By the time they left, his arms were filled with shopping bags.

"Professor, I want to visit the pet store," Dylan suddenly said.

Professor McGonagall paused before glancing at his already full hands.

"You should… not be able to carry another pet, right?" she questioned.

In reality, Dylan hadn't purchased that many things—except at Flourish and Blotts.

There, he had bought over thirty books of various sizes in one go.

These books were all recommended by Professor McGonagall, including some advanced teaching materials.

Since he had the opportunity to shop with a professor, he had taken full advantage of it.

A guide like her was not always available.

However, this also meant that he could not carry much else.

Still, Dylan wasn't heading to the Magical Creatures Shop to buy a pet—he wanted to inquire about the process of obtaining a license for Wuying.

So, he simply smiled shyly at Professor McGonagall.

"Mr. Ollivander mentioned something about magical creatures earlier. I'm very curious, so I'd love to take a look."

"Is that so?" Professor McGonagall nodded. "Go ahead. I'll wait for you here. Just don't take too long."

"Okay, Professor!"

Dylan hurried into the Magical Creatures Shop with his shopping bags.

After making his inquiries, he didn't linger. Instead, he returned to Professor McGonagall and asked her to Apparate him back home.

Returning Home

After bidding farewell to Professor McGonagall, Dylan entered his house and immediately carried all his purchases down to his small basement.

The excitement of attending Hogwarts kept him from feeling tired, despite having walked around Diagon Alley all day, his hands full.

He briefly explained his day's adventures to his parents, then quickly freshened up before slipping back into the basement.

Just then, something caught his eye.

A new notification had appeared on his system panel.

He hadn't noticed it earlier, but now he quickly checked.

Achievement Notifications

[Notification]: You have unlocked a new achievement!

"Huh? A new achievement?" Dylan was puzzled.

He assumed it must be related to his visit to Diagon Alley—perhaps something like acquiring his first wand or experiencing Apparition for the first time.

He clicked on the magic scroll icon and opened the achievement panel.

However, the text descriptions of the new achievements looked… strange.

The edges of the characters were jagged, the strokes twisted and uneven. The text itself was dark, fluctuating between red and black, resembling dried blood.
