Hogwarts: The Unscientific Wizard (TL)

Chapter 16: Chapter 16 On Blacking Dumbledore, I am a professional

"Harry Potter!"

When Professor McGonagall pronounced the name, the entire great hall instantly fell silent, and then there was a buzz of voices, everyone whispering and talking about Harry Potter.

Andy could see that a lot of people were on their feet as if they wanted to see what was so special about the legendary 'boy who had survived' who had defeated the You-Know-Who.

Even Dumbledore had his eyes on Harry and seemed to be looking forward to Harry Potter's House Sorting.

Although the prophecy about Harry Potter and Voldemort was a secret in the wizarding world, in Andy's previous life, this prophecy had long been spread throughout the streets, and even many people who hadn't read Harry Potter knew about this prophecy.

Originally, Andy was somewhat puzzled, why would a wizard as powerful as Voldemort believe in a so-called prophecy?

Only, at this moment, did Andy finally crack the case.

It turned out that it was Dumbledore who believed it.

Think about it, an originally unknown witch (although Sybill Trelawney is from a family of Seers, she is indeed unknown.) predicted the death of the great Dark Lord Voldemort.

According to the normal script, Voldemort should have rewarded her with a Killing Curse.

Yet, the witch who made the prophecy was hired by Dumbledore to teach Divination at Hogwarts.

Simply unexpected!

Voldemort took a look at the fact that Dumbledore actually believed that bullshit prophecy to be true!

Well, then I believe it too.

It's called the celebrity effect.

Of course, Andy expected that prophecy to be true more than anyone else.

Even if the world had been messed up by the butterfly effect, that prophecy could still be fulfilled.

Because of this, Andy could safely hand Voldemort over to Harry to deal with, while he himself could quietly eat and watch the show from the sidelines.

Harry Potter's Sorting went on for a long time, with Harry whispering something to the Sorting Hat, it was only after a long time that the Sorting Hat shouted, "Gryffindor!"

"We got Potter, we got Potter!"

The cheers from the Gryffindor long table echoed throughout the Great Hall as they all scrambled to be the first to shake Harry's hand and be proud of it.

Andy swept his gaze over the faculty table, all the professors were happy and Dumbledore was watching the scene with a relieved look on his face.

There was only Snape, whose already grim face seemed to have become even uglier. It was as if in his eyes, Harry Potter was not a person, but a maggot living in the sewer.

It was so disgusting that he couldn't eat.

When all the new students had finished being sorted into houses, Professor McGonagall rolled up the parchment and grabbed the Sorting hat to leave.

Dumbledore stood up, he looked at the students with a big smile and spread his arms out to them as if nothing would make him happier than to see them all in one place.

"Welcome!"

Dumbledore said, "Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"

"Thank you all!"

Dumbledore retook his seat.

Andy felt those principals in his previous life should really learn from Dumbledore how to speak as a speaker.

Even if it's cursing, it's still better than babbling nonsense!

Hermione stretched out her finger and stabbed Andy, saying somewhat hesitantly, "Isn't he a bit-"

Hermione signalled Dumbledore's direction with her eyes while gesturing her head with her finger.

That meant: isn't Dumbledore's brain a little bit not quite right?

Andy nodded his head and gave Hermione a definite answer, "Headmaster Dumbledore is over a hundred years old after all, we have to try to understand him. Whatever he says, we can just echo along with it."

"What more can we ask of a centenarian?"

Andy said, "It's good enough that he can still eat on his own."

"I thought he was wearing dentures!" Hermione's parents were both dentists, and it was reasonable to assume that an old man of Dumbledore's age would have lost all his teeth by now.

Amid this small talk, an assortment of delicacies suddenly appeared on the long table.

Roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops, lamb chops, sausages, bacon, steak, joints, steak and kidney pie, boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, mashed potato, chips, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, gravy, ketchup, and, for some odd reason, peppermint humbugs also on the table.

Andy had been eating English food for eleven years and was barely able to stomach all this.

As much as he missed Chinese spicy dishes, Andy didn't want to expose his differences from the rest of the crowd just because of a little bit of taste preference.

After all, Andy had never been exposed to those dishes in this life.

The large amount of food instantly enlivened the atmosphere, and everyone mingled and pushed their glasses, chatting with each other about the interesting things they had experienced.

After everyone had filled their stomachs, the rest of the food suddenly disappeared from the table, and the plates became as bare as before again.

After a while, the ice cream came up, and there were all sorts of flavours of ice cream and desserts.

Andy gave Hogwarts a nod.

As a school that didn't charge tuition fees, the level of food at Hogwarts was already quite generous.

For this academic year's Start-of-Term Feast alone, Andy felt that he could eat his way back to the money he had spent on three uniforms, as well as his wand and textbooks.

Hermione had been chatting to Head Girl Penelope Clearwater about her new student schoolwork.

She is a proud young girl, and due to her Muggle origins, she doesn't want to be too far behind her peers.

Especially after entering the wizarding world, the first young wizard her age that she knew was Andy - an excellent student who had practised every kind of spell thousands of times.

When all the desserts had disappeared, Dumbledore stood up again and silence returned to the chaotic great hall.

"Ahem, just a few more words now we are all fed and watered. I have a few start-of-term notices to give you..."

"First years should note that the forest in the grounds is forbidden to all pupils. Some of the upperclassmen should keep that in mind as well."

Regarding the information about the forbidden forest, Andy had already obtained some of it from the Twins. In the first year, Andy had no intention of going in anyway.

Dumbledore continued, "I have also been asked by Mr Filch, to remind you all no magic should be used between classes in the corridors."

Andy had a plan for this, Hogwarts had a lot of abandoned rooms, so he could just find one and practice magic.

"Quidditch trials will be held in the second week of term. Anyone interested in playing for their house teams should contact Madam Hooch."

Andy was not a fan of Quidditch.

"Finally, I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death."

Andy noted keenly that Dumbledore's wording here was different from the Forbidden Forest.

The former was 'Do not enter if you do not wish to meet with an accident, a painful and tragic death', while the latter was forbidding any student to enter.
