Hogwarts: The Unscientific Wizard (TL)

Chapter 764: Chapter 764: Past and Future Room. Duel with Dumbledore?

With Eliza's introduction, Andy and Grindelwald's eyes got drawn toward the mirrors on the ceiling.

Eliza turned to look at their reaction and felt satisfied.

She believed she had been a good tour guide, good enough to make Andy curious and consider becoming Unspeakable here.

Before introducing this room, Eliza already expected they would be interested in the mirrors above, given what she had learned about their divination talent.

In Andy's sight, as he gazed deeply and intently, the fog started to swirl, and vague shadows slowly formed in the mirror, just like what happened inside the crystal orb when he attempted to divine.

With his current experience and understanding, Andy believes divination is magic that shows one of the many possibilities that will happen in the future.

But if the person or individuals the prophecy is about believe in the prophecy and try to change or prevent that future, or if a person with enough weight to alter that event believes in it and makes safety precautions, the possibility of that prophecy becoming true would increase exponentially.

That's how Voldemort ended up dead.

Andy even believes that Dumbledore letting Snape leave after hearing part of the prophecy was to make this outcome happen.

"Future, huh." Andy murmured, thinking of the name of this room.

When he looked at the mirrors on the wall before, he saw the scenes of him visiting the Department of Mysteries, not the history she talked about.

Fortunately, given their reactions and her introduction, what everyone sees seems to vary, or both of them were good actors.

Well, it doesn't matter if they know about it.

Suddenly, Andy felt a gaze boring on him and turned and found it was Eliza.

With a smile, Andy asked Eliza, who tried to avert her gaze, with a twinkle in his eyes.

"What's the difference between using this to see the future and a crystal orb to see the future?"

"And does this record the prophecies shown here?"

Hearing this question, Grindelwald, who was about to see a prophecy, interrupted his divination and looked at Eliza's eyes with a twinkle.

Feeling their gaze, Eliza answered after taking a deep breath. "Prophecies recorded here can only be seen by those who are involved in it. We can find the name of the Seer and for whom the prophecy was made by using ancient magic only if the prophecy was uttered in a public place."

"And the future Seers see here have higher chances of turning true than the crystal orb because all the mirrors here are slightly affected by the power of time."

So, the timeline with a high probability of happening will be shown here, instead of one of the many possible scenes shown in Crystal Orb, thanks to the power of time?

So the Seers with high divination talent, like Grindelwald, can see the future that is about to happen?

What would he see?

Andy mused, breaking eye contact with Eliza, and looked up at the mirrors again.

As Andy looked intently, fog once again appeared on a mirror, and he tried hard to see past the fog and see the future.

While Andy was trying hard to see past the fog, Grindelwald already saw the broken scenes of the future thanks to his eyes.

In a lifeless wilderness, various scenes of transfiguration are shown in his eyes.

From ground to fire, even the air was changed and transformed during a clash.

Even the shape of the surroundings changed during the clash.

Is it a duel or a fight?

Between whom and whom?

Seeing the wide area affected by the spells, Grindelwald believed it should be between him and Dumbledore or Andy and one of them.

But for what reason?

Because Andy wants to test his strength?

Grindelwald tried to see an answer to his questions by focusing even harder, and the scenes changed.

A Phoenix Patronus was confronting a giant, car-sized Cat Patronus.

As the clash continues, the Cat Patronus became more and more solid and refined, seeming to change toward a better form.

Compared to Grindelwald, who saw various scenes and clearer details.

The future Andy saw after trying hard and focusing was brief, vague, and confusing.

All he saw was a black-and-white scene, with seven gigantic, pulsating, seemingly lifeless dark shadows floating in the cloudless sky.

White dots scattered like fireworks and streaked toward the ground or some distant place like meteorites and shooting stars.

Then the scene abruptly ended, waking Andy up confused, with many questions bubbling in his mind.

What the heck did I see?

Is it really a scene from the future, or is it another misleading divination, like the one he saw during the World Cup?

If it is the future, when and where did this happen? Is it the future of the old me visiting another planet after creating a spaceship or something?

If it is a misleading one, maybe it might be a scene from a film I am going to watch with Hermione later.

And why seven again? In this magical world, seven seems to be really popular.

Andy used occlumency to calm his tumbling thoughts and decided to focus on this another time when he got clues later.

Seeing Eliza, who seemed to be waiting for them, and Grindelwald, who seemed like he was looking at a distant, unknown place, Andy decided to check out the room.

After checking the big golden sand timepiece and small sand timepieces of Time-Turners, Andy went near the mirrors on the walls with the wand in hand.

When Andy touched the mirror with his wand, he got pulled into pieces of history, floating and watching the scene of the Hogwarts Four founders sitting on the boat and sailing the water, which looked like a Black Lake.

They pointed at the distant land and mountain – which looked like Hogwarts grounds without the castle and other structures – chatting and discussing.

Andy approached them and tried to touch and interact with them, but it all seemed futile, as he passed through them like an invisible ghost and couldn't seem to hear them.

Then, the scenes of the opening ceremony appeared, but he only seemed to be able to see the faces of the Big Four and was unable to see the faces of other faculty members and students; all he saw were vague features as if some child had scribbled on their faces.

Many such scenes of history flashed before Andy, making him wake up.

When he saw the clock, disoriented, it showed only a second had passed.

After calming his mind, Andy focused on the mirror again, and the scenes of his past flashed past his eyes, like the scene of his knocking out Sirius and the scene of him goading Malfoy to deal with Quirrell.

When the scene of Azkaban with a knotted, paradoxical timeline appeared, the power of death in him unconsciously stirred, resonating with the power of death in the castle.

Perceiving the power of death, Andy's mind snapped back to reality.

It is just a history and scene of the past, right? Then, why was I able to perceive the power of death?

Andy looked confused, with many bold conjectures brewing in his mind.

The memory of his visit to Azkaban flashed multiple times in his mind, but, finally, only one thought remained.

The Past and Future Room, huh?
