"Pfft, hahaha..."
Jingyi laughed and collapsed onto the sofa.
No need to explain—this complaint directly struck Tsunade's nerves.
As a child, much like Jiraiya, she disliked studying. Fortunately, Tsunade's grades weren't terrible—certainly better than Jiraiya's, who was a notoriously low-achieving student—but she still couldn't compare to Orochimaru, a top student.
Moreover, all three of them graduated early.
They enrolled before turning five and graduated at six. By today's standards, they became ninjas before even finishing the second grade.
So, the third-grade complaint hit Tsunade right in the heart.
"Damn brat, I won't bother with you anymore."
Tsunade clutched her chest in mock pain.
Unbelievable.
I've been so kind to you, even taking the blame for you, and this is how you repay me?
"Hmph, leave me alone then!"
Kushina wasn't the least bit afraid of Tsunade's threats. Naturally, Tsunade's words weren't to be taken seriously.
"You...ugh, forget it."
Tsunade, now doubting her own life choices, slumped onto the sofa, losing any desire to discipline Kushina further.
As for Kushina... she decided she'd speak to their homeroom teacher tomorrow and ask them to assign extra homework over the holidays.
"Tsunade-senpai, Shizuichi-senpai."
At that moment, Uchiha Mikoto, who had come over as a guest with Kushina, finally had the chance to greet Tsunade and Shizuichi.
"Ah, Mikoto, welcome."
Tsunade's attitude toward Uchiha Mikoto was rather warm.
Aside from not holding any bias against the Uchiha, it was mainly because Mikoto was simply lovable.
She was beautiful, had a kind personality, was obedient and sensible, spoke well, and even had great cooking skills. Who wouldn't like a girl like that?
"Hello," Jingyi greeted her with a smile.
But he noticed something different in Uchiha Mikoto's eyes—excitement and admiration.
Did Mikoto have a strong mentality?
Soon enough, Jingyi got his answer.
Kushina snuggled into his arms again and chirped:
"Jingyi, you're amazing, do you know that? Everyone calls you the 'God Killer' now! So many students in class admire you, and even the teacher says you're one of the village's strongest shinobi!"
"Oh? So, do you admire me too?"
Jingyi chuckled and playfully pinched Kushina's little nose.
The "God Killer" title was already set in stone. It had spread throughout the village and even the ninja world.
If he didn't accept it, what could he do?
It was like how the Sannin originally hated their title, but they accepted it in the end.
Honestly, being called the "God Killer" was far better than something like "The Great White Snake of Konoha."
Jingyi smirked at the thought.
Orochimaru was probably ready to shed his skin over that one.
"Of course!"
Even with her nose pinched, Kushina beamed. "I admire you so much, Jingyi! Even Mikoto-sister admires you!"
"Really?"
Jingyi turned to Mikoto with a smile. Mikoto hadn't expected Kushina to bring her into this, and her face turned bright red. She shyly nodded and softly said, "Mm."
After nearly a year apart, Kushina seemed to have endless things to say.
Lying in Jingyi's arms, she talked nonstop.
It wasn't until her stomach growled that she pouted and said, "Jingyi, I'm hungry."
"..."
This brat. You say you admire me, but I just came back from the battlefield. I haven't even rested, and you still want me to cook?
But looking into Kushina's big, watery eyes, Jingyi couldn't say no.
It seemed she had been traumatized by Tsunade's... questionable cooking.
"Alright, I'll cook. You stay here and spend some time with your friends. Don't leave Mikoto out."
Jingyi gently lifted Kushina off him and placed her on the sofa.
"I'm fine," Mikoto said softly with a warm smile.
"Sister Mikoto is the best to me! She wouldn't get mad over something like this!" Kushina clasped her hands together confidently.
If this kid were half as obedient and sensible as Mikoto, I'd have fewer headaches.
Tsunade sighed.
Aside from her Uchiha heritage, Mikoto really was the kind of girl everyone loved—the epitome of a model child.
Jingyi checked the fridge and decided to make a few home-cooked dishes.
"You guys eat slowly. I'm heading upstairs to rest. I rushed back from the camp—had to navigate tough terrain and stay alert for enemies. I'm exhausted."
As the leader of the returning squad, Jingyi bore the most pressure.
After days of hardship, his body felt like it was falling apart.
"Go, go."
Tsunade, busy fighting Kushina over meat, barely looked up. Kushina and Naoki didn't respond either—they couldn't afford to be distracted.
Only Mikoto ate quietly, barely making a sound.
How old are you, Tsunade, still fighting kids over food?
Jingyi suspected Tsunade wasn't teasing Kushina—she was genuinely greedy.
Maybe Kushina secretly cooked behind Tsunade's back.
Back in his room, Jingyi changed into pajamas and fell asleep immediately.

Hyuga Clan—Patriarch's Courtyard
Hyuga Hiashi knelt neatly on the mat, facing the questioning eyes of his father and clan elders. Calmly, he spoke:
"Father, Jingyi accepted my apology. However, he said that if the clan wants to make amends, it must show genuine sincerity."
"The fact that we haven't held him accountable is our greatest show of sincerity," his uncle snapped.
His own son had been killed by Jingyi, and the clan couldn't retaliate or even seek an explanation.
It stung. Worse, he had to smile and accommodate the man responsible.
The clan leader shot him a look before addressing the room.
"I know many of you resent Hyuga Jingyi, but don't forget our past mistakes. The village isn't on our side. More importantly, Jingyi may have discovered a way to counter the Caged Bird Curse Seal. That's critical."
The Caged Bird Seal had always been the clan's method of control. Now, with this threat, it was natural for the elders to panic.
Luckily, relations hadn't completely broken down. For now, only Jingyi posed this threat.
The clan feared that if Jingyi's immunity spread to the entire branch house, their control would crumble.
"The priority is discovering how Jingyi resists the curse seal."
"Exactly. What if he's lying?"
"Prepare accordingly. If necessary, even branch members can eliminate the main family."
The elders spoke in turn, voices tense.
The clan leader listened patiently. When they quieted, he turned to Hiashi.
"Hiashi, you've spoken to him. What's your opinion?"
