Hokage: Immortal, I Open Unlimited Eight Gates

Chapter 56: The Fierce Battle Continues

Sarutobi Clan Land

Sarutobi Hiruzen sat leisurely in his yard, sipping tea and enjoying the snow-covered view.

"Lord Hokage, there's been an incident at Training Ground No. 44," a figure dressed in Anbu uniform suddenly reported as he appeared before him.

Hiruzen calmly took another sip of tea before responding, "Explain."

"Orochimaru and Uchiha Chiba are engaged in combat at the training ground for reasons unknown. Jiraiya and Tsunade are also present."

The Anbu paused before continuing, "Initially, it seemed manageable, but the situation has escalated. Orochimaru has summoned Manda."

Hiruzen's hand froze mid-motion, his pipe momentarily forgotten.

He could understand Chiba sparring with Orochimaru, but it was surprising—and concerning—that a mere student could force Orochimaru to summon his massive snake summon.

After a moment's thought, Hiruzen spoke in a deep voice, "Continue monitoring the situation. If anything goes wrong, intervene immediately."

"Understood."

As the Anbu disappeared, Hiruzen contemplated the situation. He rose, entered his house, and retrieved a crystal ball. Placing it on the table, he activated it, and the chaotic scene at the training ground unfolded before his eyes.

Root Headquarters

Shimura Danzo received the same news.

The sheer size of Manda made it impossible to miss.

Danzo issued similar orders to his operatives, instructing them to monitor the situation closely and be prepared to act if necessary.

Konoha Police Force Headquarters

Even the Konoha Police Force was alerted. Villagers near the training ground had heard the explosions and reported the commotion.

Training Ground No. 44

Uchiha Chiba stood still, observing Orochimaru atop Manda. He sighed inwardly but couldn't help feeling a sense of clarity about his own strength.

"Does Orochimaru already know the Eight Branches Technique?" Chiba wondered, briefly entertaining the thought.

Refocusing, he watched as Manda, the colossal snake, began to move.

The snake's massive tail whipped through the air, creating a powerful gust that sent snow and debris flying toward Chiba.

This time, Chiba crouched, then leaped forward with explosive force.

Boom!

Snow exploded beneath his feet as Chiba launched himself toward the incoming tail, his fist wrapped in blackened Haki.

Bang!

The impact was monumental. The ground shook as the snake's tail collided with Chiba's punch. A shockwave blew away all the snow in the training ground.

Chiba was forced back more than ten meters, but Manda was also in pain. Chiba's punch hit like a sledgehammer, leaving the massive snake hissing in agony.

Without missing a beat, Chiba crouched again and launched himself high into the air. This time, his target was Orochimaru.

Seeing Chiba approach, Orochimaru quickly formed hand seals.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

A powerful gust of wind burst from Orochimaru's mouth, slamming into Chiba mid-air and sending him hurtling backward.

Unable to stabilize himself in the air, Chiba was forced to retreat. He briefly considered using the flight Technique to recover but quickly dismissed the idea. He didn't yet have an explanation prepared for his ability to fly.

As Chiba descended, Manda's tail came swinging toward him once again. With no time to evade, Chiba braced himself and struck out with another Haki-infused punch.

The collision sent Chiba flying again, this time crashing to the ground.

After landing, Chiba quickly assessed the situation.

To reach Orochimaru, he needed to deal with Manda first.

"Fine. If it's a battle of endurance, I'll exchange injuries with you," he thought, a small grin forming.

Chiba charged again, this time with greater ferocity.

The sound of constant collisions and deafening roars filled the training ground.

Sarutobi Hiruzen's Residence

Through his crystal ball, Hiruzen watched the relentless battle unfold. His pipe trembled in his hand, and the ashes fell unnoticed onto his robes.

He couldn't fathom what he was seeing.

An Uchiha not relying on the Sharingan but instead fighting head-to-head with sheer physical strength? It reminded him more of the Yotsuki clan than the Uchiha.

What shocked him even more was Chiba's resilience. He was fighting against Manda, Orochimaru's colossal summon, and yet, aside from his torn clothes, Chiba appeared completely unharmed.

"Is he even human?" Hiruzen muttered under his breath.

Outside the Training Ground

Nawaki, who had fainted earlier, was jolted awake by the sound of the battle.

He groggily rubbed his temples, his ears ringing from the noise. Looking up, he was dumbfounded by the scene before him.

"Is that… Chiba?!" he exclaimed.

Tsunade and Jiraiya ignored him, their focus entirely on the battlefield.

What had started as a one-sided match had become a fierce and evenly matched battle.

Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps approached.

Nawaki turned to see Uchiha Fugaku and a group of Konoha Police Force members arriving on the scene.

"Fugaku! What are you doing here?" Nawaki called out.

Fugaku greeted Jiraiya and Tsunade respectfully before replying, "We received reports of explosions and came to investigate."

Without another word, Fugaku turned to watch the battle.

What he saw left him speechless.

There, in the center of the training ground, Chiba was trading blows with Manda as if he were fighting an ordinary opponent.

"Is that… Chiba?" Fugaku asked, disbelief evident in his voice.

Nawaki quickly explained the situation, including the reason for the fight.

"So, Chiba refused Orochimaru's offer, and this is the result?" Fugaku asked, still processing the absurdity of it all.

"Yes," Nawaki confirmed.

One of Fugaku's subordinates spoke up, "Shouldn't we stop this fight?"

Fugaku hesitated. "Not yet. Let's observe for now. With Jiraiya and Tsunade here, Chiba should be safe."

Training Ground No. 44

Chiba stood amidst the wreckage, his body aching but still functional.

The pain was temporary, he reminded himself. His body's enhanced recovery, bolstered by Medical Jutsu, would heal him soon enough.

"It's time to end this," Chiba muttered, his eyes narrowing as he prepared to make his next move.
